I've had the worst head cold ever for the past 2/3 days, and been feeling absolutely rotten. I've had a super blocked, dry, nose which isn't good because I have a sort of fear/phobia of not being able to breathe through my nose because I feel like I'm suffocating. So I went to ASDA and bought a nasal decongestant spray. I checked the instructions on the box before I purchased it, and it said that it was for adults and children over 12, and nothing about pregnancy, so assumed it was safe. I had used the Vicks branded one in first tri and the doc said it was okay, but I went for the ASDA's own version as they didn't have the Vicks one in stock.
Anyways...I've been using it 2/3 times a day since the day before yesterday and today out of bordem, I randomly decided to read the little leaflet in the box and it says: "Do NOT use whilst Pregnant or breast feeding." and then below that it says "You should not use this product if you are: pregnant."
So I stopped using it straight away, and when I just went to the toilet for a wee, there was some pink on the tissue paper. Now I'm super worried and kicking myself for using the spray and trusting the instructions on the box, rather than opening the box before I bought it and reading the leaflet.
Do you think I've caused my baby any harm? I've felt some movement, and there was only the tiniest amount of pink when I wiped once, I'm just super worried.
I have an appointment with my OBGYN tomorrow, so don't see the need in phoning the midwife when she'll tell me to wait until then anyways because she's useless.
Anyone else used a decongestant nasal spray whilst pregnant and been okay?
