~Yorkshire BnB'ers Chinwag~

Hello ladies

Thanks for the warm welcome. I've been back to the hospital today. I didn't need an ERPC as my uterus was found to be empty. (At my last scan before the miscarriage kicked off good and proper it was described as 'complex' - sonographer said it was full of blood and clots.) I also did a pregnancy test at the hospital and it was negative so we're free to TTC whenever we want. I was referred to my GP though for the ongoing cough I've had since I had swine flu. Turns out I have an infection so he's put me on strong antibiotics to try and shift it before my holiday to Egypt next week. Probably explains why I've been feeling really weak and lethargic.

Did anyone feel the tremor last night? I live in Knaresborough and wasn't aware of a thing.

Pip x

We felt it! The fireplace vibrated and OH thought it was Hebe's easel wobbling! I thought it was the washer spinning till I realised it wasn't on! We didn't know till my eldest came up and announced there'd been an earthquake in Bradford! We knew then that must have been what it was. The fireplace did a tiny little rattle like it might if the washer was spinning but obviously it wasn't. Weird!

OOH I didn't feel the earthquake - scary goings on!!

Pip so sorry for your loss, I had a m/c before I got pg with Myles and it is an awful thing to have to go through sending you lots of :hugs: glad you don't have to have an ERPC that was my big fear afterwards :hugs:

I live between Bradford and Huddersfield but didn't feel a thing! I didn't have a clue about it until various friends living in both areas said something on FB.

Pip, my parents live in Scotton, just near Knaresborough. We used to have a caravan at the Lido many moon's ago when I was still at School, used to practially live there during the 6 week hols it felt like! :haha: We got it way before the McDonalds and all the retail park etc got built up there, that must of been a good 10 years ago, I must of been 15/16 easily when they did that! Hope the illness clears up soon and glad you have the all clear to TTC when you want to :flower:

So where do all you yorkshire ladies hang out? Any good places to recommend?

In the summer we went to loads of good places but the weather is just too horrible atm! These are a few of our popular haunts :)

Cannon Hall Farm and Country Park
Bretton Sculpture and Country park
Roundhay Park and Tropical world
Halifax Butterfly house and park
Langsett Reservoir, Ogden Water and Newmiller Dam for walks.
I love Eureka if its rainy or cold but really would like to find something else to do indoors other than germy soft play areas - any suggestions?

Hi everyone, been terrible at keeping upon here! The few weeks of not having the internet cured my BnB addiction!

Vanessa i am so very sorry to hear about your Dad :hugs: It will be nice to be a bridesmaid though :D

welcome to the thread Karen and Tracy

Karen i am very sorry to hear about your losses :hugs: Up near Harrogate is beautiful. I bet it is nice living up there.

Tracy i remember you from a Huddersfield thread ages ago. I am in Almondbury. Quite a few from the Huddersfield area on here now!

Not much going on here at the moment. Kayden has gone back to school so just trying to get back to normality now. Need to start thinking about planning for Nathans birthday. I can not believe that in just under two months he will be one. I have never meant it so much when i have said where has the time gone...

Tracy i think it is so hard to try and find things to do in winter. I agree that Eureka is fantastic but it does get a bit much when you have been 100's of times!

We will have to arrange a meet soon for people who are up for it. Maybe an early spring one will be nice when the weather gets a tad warmer.

Right, list updated to here. Please have a look and let me know if you would like anything changed. Also if i have missed anyone.

Just want to say hi to everyone who has come by since i was off line. This list of us from Yorkshire is getting huge, there are loads of us!

It is snowing here now and settling fast....

It says on BBC weather heavy showers, it's constant but not too heavy thankfully in town centre at mo, don't fancy being snowed in work on a Friday! :haha:

We have snow here too, it has been coming down for over an hour :(

OOH just looked at the list - think I am the old fogey Mummy here LMAO I am 41 if you wanna add it to the list :)

A meet in Spring would be good :)

Ok ladies will add that to both.

Just having a nice sit down while Nathan is asleep. He is so energetic at the moment and into everything so i spends a lot of time chasing him around and trying to keep his mind from opening cupboards.

Thanks :) IKWYM about stopping them getting into everything, Myles latest thing is to go and get the 4 pint milk carton out of the fridge and carry it round!!!!

Wow he must be strong! Is it because he wants some?

Just been to school to pick kayden up. It is too cold :cold:

Hey ladies, hope everyone is ok.

Well Alfie started crawling last week :happydance: He's a month younger than Evie was when she started, he's into everything now though lol. I walked into the room the other day after being in the kitchen for a minute and he'd got a piece of charcoal off the fireplace and was about to put it in his mouth, eeek!! I think I'll need to invest in a fireguard, we never use the fire but I don't want him eating coal!

My dads funeral was on Tuesday, my brothers carried the coffin into the cremtorium and it was heartbreaking  I'm glad its all over with now though, I feel like I can move on if that makes sense?

On a more positive note the planning for my friends wedding is coming along nicely, she went and bought me a bridesmaid dress last week without me (as I was obviously a little preoccupied) and I absolutely love it!! It fits perfectly too, I've just been to buy some magic knickers today to hide a few of my lumps :haha: Next week we're going shopping with her mum to get my shoes and we're going to have a meal afterwards and make it her unofficial hen do, I'm really looking forward to it. I was stressed when she first told me about her 4 week notice wedding but I'm glad about it now as its helping take my mind off what happened over xmas.

Alfie's on his way over to the fireplace again so I'm going to have to skoot, I hope everyone had a great new year!
