~Yorkshire BnB'ers Chinwag~

:hi: hi Ruth - I'm due back in July also, but hoping they will give me voluntary redundancy so I don't have to :haha: can't imagine leaving my little man either!!!

Afternoon all! :hi: Dylan made a christmas card and tree decoration at baby group today :haha: nice and messy (pics are on fb for those who have me :haha:) bless him!

Glad the snow has been cleared properly now, we can escape safely on foot at last :haha: hope you are all good?

 Hey Ruth  Where about in Bradford are you from? I used to live there, scarily about 10 years ago now, but it's where I was born / brought up. My LO was a BRI baby too even though we live in Brighouse, it was nice considering both OH and I are BRI babies. Congrat's on your little man, was he a BRI baby too? Like the stocking avatar! Dont worry about going to work yet! Just enjoy your time off :D :flower:

Aw thanks, I love that stocking picture too! Took me ages to get him to be sat in just the right position but try as I might I couldn't get him to smile for me! I'm using that picture on his Daddy's Christmas card, just waiting for it to be delivered.

We live in Low Moor, which is just off the M62, not a million miles away from Brighouse! One of my best mates lives in Hove Edge so we're frequent visitors to your part of the world. In fact, we got Frankie's Christening outfit from a little baby shop in Brighouse, Baby Lilly's I think it was called.

Frankie wasn't a BRI baby. He was born in Halifax as Calderdale Royal and BRI are about equidistant from where we live, but the traffic at peak times is always horrendous going to BRI so we thought it might be a bit of a safer option going for Halifax. I wasn't born at the BRI either, but at St. Luke's before it's maternity unit was shut down (showing my age!). We laughed actually because when we went to register Frankie at the Bradford Registry Office, they said he would have to have a Calderdale birth certificate as he was born there so he has a Calderdale birth certificate, mine is from Bradford and my husband (who is from Surrey) has a Reigate one - what a diverse family!!!

Ah yep I know Low Moor, used to have a friend live on Abscott lane and I almost moved near there too apart from the fact there was a capped mine shaft in the back garden that could of been re-opened any time so I passed lol.

We were supposed to go to Calderdale Royal but OH's Dad suffered an annurism and they live in Shipley so we stayed with his Mum as he ('FIL') was in BRI ICU and high dependency for a bit so we transfered over to the maternity ward there. Thankfully he made a full recovery and was discharged shortly after Chloe and me!

Quite a collection of birth certificates you have!

Hi Ruth and welcome :)

Nathan was a Calderdale baby to and we were so happy with the staff and ward. The whole experience was great.

It's so nice to see so many local people on here!

Ha, we live on the road just at the bottom of Abscott Lane! I didn't know about capped mine shafts though! Will have to be careful! x

Hi

Hope you had a good Christmas :flower:

Thanks ladies! We've had a lovely Christmas thanks.

Has anyone braved the sales yet? My eldest is itching to get over to Leeds and sound her christmas money and vouchers!

Hi Lisa and Hi everyone else :D

Hope you all had a good Christmas.

I have a new dongle at last and a proper Internet connection at last after so much messing around. I had to to a full computer recovery. I think i deleted the modem by accident at some point. Oops!

Hope your all well and all children too.

It was a lovely Christmas here two very spoiled boys and lots of nice food :D

What are the new year plans for you all then? Wayne is working so nothing but sleep going on here. I will try to stay awake to watch new year live but i am so tired at the moment i doubt i will be able to. Gosh i am getting old...

Glad you got your Internet sorted!

This will be my 3rd quiet / sober new year! Two babies 17 months apart means I've been pregnant and/or breastfeeding and this year I am on call for two babies due in January! So we will probably have a nice meal once the babies are in bed. My hubby does all the cooking in our house so I'll give him a well earned night off!

That sounds like a lovely idea! Nice relaxed new years are the way forward!

It's good to know I'm not the only one who's husband does all the cooking, although it is his choice i sometimes feel a bit bad..

I feel bad for 5 mins then I remember I'm rubbish at cooking and feel instantly better!!

Hmm that is a good point although really i am not too bad at it ;) !

gav does all the cooking here too. I'm can't cook won't cook, as in i can't be arsed and when i do hubby wishes i hadn't bothered! A quiet new year's eve planned here too, after our traumatic christmas it's definitely needed. May have a glass or two of wine but i'm breastfeeding so won't be going overboard. Hope you're all well. We should arrange our meet now the horrible white stuff has gone x

Not much planned here either but anything will be better than the last two years as Oh had been working so one year he fell asleep before NY so I was in the front room with the Inlaws, joy! Last year was early to bed so I just wished Chloe a Happy New Year when she woke for her feed! I'm not really in the mood though, christmas hasn't been great so I'm just not feeling it, although I did get a nice bottle of red for a gift and I keep meaning to crack it open to treat myself so I may do that!

OH cooks for Christmas, I do it for NY. I don't feel guilty becasue I end up with the washing up when he cooks and he uses every pan in the house!

Hi all hope you had a good xmas!

We're having a little gathering for new year, there's just OH's parents and his sister and brother and their partners and kids. We do the same every year but its our turn to host this time!

I'm going to be busy in the new year so I'm going to try and enjoy the party. I have my dads funeral next week as he unfortunately passed away the week before xmas and my best friend is getting married in 3 weeks time and I'm the maid of honour (and she only got engaged 2 weeks ago lol).

Just been down to Morrisons to get some bits and pieces for the party and its HEAVING!!! I'm glad I braved it today instead of waiting til tomorrow.
