35 and over and ltttc for baby #2 for over 2.5yrs!

Eyemom brilliant to hear from you. I'm sure we all understand that you are busy esp now you are back working. Are you full time or part time?
Is baby letting you get a reasonable sleep at night?

Hi Eyemom!! :hi: Lovely to hear from you :hugs:

Tommy - Dinosaurs sound like fun :D Glad you all enjoyed it.I know how you feel about registering for school...we HAVE to register DS as we already held him back a year so although he will be older I still sometimes can't believe he will be starting in September... As for the age gap I hear you....at this rate there will be 6 years :( Double what we wanted....Still at this point I'll take that rather than no sibling! 2 more days til our appt!!!

Hiya
The whole school thing is crazy but you are right a 5 or 6 year gap is much better than no gap. My 2 year gap is already doubled - never actually though about it like that. But what I have considered is I have either been pregnant or TTC for the vast majority of our marriage.
I thought kids were 6 before starting school in Canada anyway? But deferring is no bad thing. The Assistant Head was certain that if there was any doubt she would defer and she pointed out we are one of the youngest starting ages in Europe.
Good luck for you appointment. I assume you are taking DHs previous SA results with you? I'm guessing you'll be setting out on the Lanet IVF road lets hope it goes smoothly without too many issues.

Thinking of Lanet I wonder how her baby girl is doing?

Hi girls. Just popping in quickly. Just wanted to say that although the age gap isn't ideal and not what I planned, I truly believe it was meant to be and will be the best gap for our family, can't imagine in any other way. So try not to be too discouraged or disheartened, when the time comes it will just be right.
We are looking at a 12 year gap (possibly to the day) but dd said they aren't allowed to be born within a week of her bday. I'll do what I can!
I do completely wholeheartedly understand the pain of ticking off the years though my friends. Hoping your time comes soon, all of you!

Good to hear from you Lanet. How are the babies doing? How are you other than presumably getting big?

Thank you everyone for welcoming me :)

Mooshie-hopefully you won't need the 5 months.

Wish-my youngest is 2 1/2 years old, she needs a sibling (preferably brother) Congrats on the weight loss. I'm trying to lose weight as well. I cut out soda somewhat sucessfully and I'm going to try to walk some. Little by litte. :)

Orchid-Moving stinks and it's amazing how much "stuff" one can accumulate over the years....Are you moving far away?

Tommyg- I actually have 6 children from 2 previous relationships. 12 y/o girl, 10 y/o boy , 9 y/o boy, 5 y/o girl, 4 y/o girl and 2 1/2 y/o girl. First 4 dad ended up cheating when the last one was 6 mos old and the other 2 it just didn't work. Me and current DH have been trying since we got married. It's frustrating. I'm almos 29 and I think it's more weight related than anything, but could be DH he is 38 almost 39 and has no children. He is an excellent stepfather to my children but I just want us to have "our" baby. (just 1)Supposedly he had a girl get preggers by him 5 years ago but she had a miscarriage and I'm not saying she wasn't pregnant but he never saw a test so who knows. We have an appt on March 2nd with a specialist but with no insurance it's expensive. And before I've never had this issue but ever since I had the youngest my periods have been really irregular and I've put on about 30lbs in the last year since getting an office job. IDK I'm at my wits end just like everyone else here.

AFM I am currently on CD 40 and still BFN. I went away this weekend and tried not to think about it but still no AF and I'm symptom spotting away! I'm sure we all do this even though I think I'm quite obsessed now . I've had naseau all day and sleepy yet hungry. I'm going to hold out until Friday to test again, If I'm not then I think I may just take the clomid I have and see what happens. I really don't think I'm ovulating. Either that or make an appt to see if the doc will give me provera. It's strange now that I have what I need to maybe get pregnant AF won't show. I hate all this waiting.

Hi everyone. Just checking in. I totally feel it in terms of age gap. I really wanted a gap of 2 years or less and as of this month it will be at least three. In fact if I am lucky and concieve this month it would be exactly 3 years. Its hard when A LOT of my friends have just had their second with a 2 year gap.

Only other news is that our referral appointment to the fertility clinic cane through, it's on the 29th so not too long to wait. In fact the appointment is the day before AF is due so this TWW is going to feel like an eternity haha!

Tommy the babies are doing good but I'm having a very complicated pregnant. We've had to drive 3 1/2 hours for 2 echocardiograms for one baby. She will need one after birth as well. Things are looking good but there's one thing they are watching.
I also have anemia, gestational diabetes, and low lying placenta.
Babies were measuring 3lbs 13 oz and 4lbs 7oz last week so doing good and it won't be long. Just want everyone here and healthy

Awww lanet, that's good that the babies are doing well. I just noticed on your ticket how far along you are, you don't have long to go!! How are you managing with the gestational diabetes? I have type 1 and am insulin dependant so I know what a pain in the arse it can be.

I'm with you all on the age gap thing. I really wanted a small age gap between mine, 2 years at most but my son will be 4 in June so it's double what we would have liked already. He doesn't start school until next summer.

How is everyone else doing?

I'm currently on cd5, I started with the epo this month and I was going to try Agnus Castus but I think I bought the wrong stuff so will put that off until next month if we don't catch this time (not feeling hopeful!)

I have an appointment at my diabetic clinic in February and should find out the date I will get my insulin pump!!! Very excited about that as it "should" help me control my blood sugar a lot better which in turn should help with ttc!

Ĺanet you poor thing. At least you don't have too long to go. Let's pray the wee girl is ok. Hugs.

Mooshie do you think the diabetes is affecting your fertility?

:hi: everyone
Still reading along... I got back from Georgia yesterday and left for Chicago today!! Woo hoo!!!
Already blew my diet! "Shake fist at sky" darn Chicago food!!!!
Start again tomorrow :-)
Its day 11 of AF... Just ridiculous - I thought I was close to being done and Friday night she started up again - this time super heavy bleeding and pain... And she is still here!!!not so much heavy bleeding but pain...
She needs to hit the road!!!
Hope everyone is well tonight - I will do a proper reply on my lunch hour tomorrow :-)

Wish is there nothing they can do to stop you bleeding like that? Surely that must be leaving you animic, sorry can't get the spelling of that but you know what I mean?

But good you are home. Just reread your post and realised that it was a flying visit home.

Ĺanet you poor thing. At least you don't have too long to go. Let's pray the wee girl is ok. Hugs.

Mooshie do you think the diabetes is affecting your fertility?

I honestly don't know. The consultants say that as long as your blood sugars are well controlled it shouldn't affect your fertility. Your HBA1C (which is your average blood sugar over 12 weeks) should be around 6.5/7 and mine at my last check was 6.8. They've said I am perfectly healthy in that I don't have any complications from my diabetes yet, because i've only had it 4 years.

Type 1 diabetes is an autoimmune disease though, so I think it might be playing a part in it.

I think my problem is a mixture of things, age (i'm 36), I have endometriosis albeit not severe, my diabetes, and possibly weight. I have been up until the last few months really underweight. I've put on about half a stone since my last appointment which is good as I was around 7.5 stone at 5ft 7in so my BMI was below 18. People think its really easy to put on weight, but I find it really difficult.

I suppose if I don't I fall pregnant in the next 5 months, I will find out once the hospital do some tests

Wish-I have blown my diet 4 times since New Years, sad right? Tomorrow is another day......

Mooshie-I have a friend who is in the same situation she has been underweight her whole life and she only has one child as well. She is 5'6 and weighs 115 lbs and cannot gain an ounce. She eats a huge amount has a desk job and still nothing. Just keep trying :)

Tommy-How have you been?

Orchid-Are you still around?

Lanet-The days are getting closer, thank goodness your little ones are ok.

AFM CD 41 and still nothing. No BFP no ovulation. I got all of my TTC "supplies" (softcups, test strips, preseed) in the mail yesterday and my clomid is just sitting on the shelf waiting for AF to come. I feel like just taking the clomid now instead of waiting. I haven't had a cycle this crazy since November of last year when I went 2 months without one. Frustrated right now. Any of you ladies know a way to get AF to visit?

There is something you can get from your doctor to make AF come, I've read about some ladies on here who have taken it. I'm sorry, I don't know what it's called but someone else might know. I don't know how long your cycle has to be before they'll give you it though.

Mooshie one thing I do know is you need insulin to put on weight. So if you've been running low on it then that could stop you gaining. But I wouldn't be surprised if their is some other sort of link between the diabetes and infertility.

PCOS is linked to insulin resistance, which in turn is linked to type-2. I have PCOS but the fertility clinic have only really looked at it from a fertility stance, letrozole, gonal-f and trigger. However I have also been diagnosed with haemochromatosis basically too much iron, which is also linked to type2 and insulin resistance. I'm waiting to see the hemotoligist ( or vampire if you listen to my DH) so kind of hoping they will look at the full thing and sort me out.
When the GP diagnosed it she said she couldn't say if it was affecting fertility but the whole reproductive thing is so finely balanced it doesn't take much to knock it off.

When do you next see the clinic?

Hi Ladies!

Sorry have been reading but have also been super busy so haven't had a chance to respond. Will try my best now!!

Lanet - so lovely to hear from you but I am sorry you are having such a complicated pregnancy :hugs: Not long now though - when is your official due date again?

Coquiss - I am so sorry you have no answers... Being in limbo and waiting is sooo frustrating and stressful. Hopefully you get some answers soon. If I were you I would hold off on the clomid until you are meant to take it - you don't want to waste it and then maybe screw things up even more.... :hugs:

Srbjbex - :hi: That's great that your appt is so soon! We had to wait over 3 months so another 8 days is fantastic! As for the age gap I totally understand as I think we all do. We wanted just under a 3 year gap... it didn't happen but all around me I was surrounded my friends getting pregnant and having a 2 year gap... Now all my friends have 2 or 3 kids and we are still trying. Sometimes it's easier to deal with that others but regardless pregnancy announcements still feel like a giant punch in the stomach for me as for everyone else (with the exception of everyone on here obviously!) it seems like getting pregnant is the easiest thing in the world!!

Mooshie - that's so great that will hopefully get your insulin pump and get your blood sugar under control. Hopefully that helps with things!

Wish - howdy you jet-setting superstar! How are you? I am assuming the bleeding must have stopped by now - seems ridiculous!!! Oh as if the witch showing up isn't bad enough she won't bugger off! Bitch!! Sorry I shouldn't swear but still!! ;) Sending big hugs :hugs:

Tommy - how are you doing lovely lady? Has AF appeared yet or are you having to go to the clinic to get them to end it? Seems ironic wanting AF to appear when for so long all you want is for her to stay away but it's time to get that IUI started again!!:hugs:

A big hello to all of the other lovely ladies here. I hope you're all doing well :hi: :hugs:

AFM: Well we had our appt with the FS today and it went really well. Everything seemed to happen so quickly but he has suggested we start with IUI first as he thinks that will hopefully work. Turns out the cost isn't as high as we were expecting so that's a relief so that's where we are heading next!! I feel super excited and positive about it and both DH and I are on the same page and feeling good about things so it's a big weight off my shoulder. Obviously there are still issues and we won't know until the day when DH has given his sample but fingers crossed they can get enough good ones. He did an internal scan on me and said everything looks great with me and also said that it looks like I'm going to ovulate tonight so going to DTD and keep our fingers crossed! If it doesn't work though then onto Femera (like Clomid) then IUI for 2 or 3 cycles then IVF if that doesn't work!! Ahhh it feels so good to finally be doing something... it's been 3 long years and I am so ready!!!! :happydance:

:hi: ladies
So good to hear from you all!! I'm Posting from my phone - which I hate but I just had to update
I thought I was done with AF but started bleeding again today and the pain in my stomach is unbearable without ibuprofen - I have no idea what is going on with me!!! I called the dr (I can't go in I'm in Chicago!!!) and he said to come in for a blood preg test??? What??? I've been bleeding for 12 days... I am not pregnant - I'm laying in my hotel bed hoping I don't end up at a Chicago ER tonight!!! I'm so frustrated...

Oh no Wish - we must have posted at the same time!!

That is terrible....you poor thing. Don't leave it too long, if anything gets worse go to the ER.... Sending hugs and positive vibes :hugs:

And weird that he wants to do a blood pregnancy test?!?! x

Orchid that's so exciting that you are getting started with iui!
Wish that is a long bleed! I really hope they get it figured out!
Tommy thats interesting about the extra iron, does it cause any symptoms? Have you had your glucose tested?
I'm managing the diabetes with diet and luckily its been easy but im dreaming of the stuff I want to eat after the babies are born.
The drs won't let me go past 38 weeks which is March 1, however they say it's highly unlikely I'll carry that long, that average for twins is 35-36, so could be just a few weeks! They are already big, a week and a half ago they were 3.13 and 4.7
