35 and over and ltttc for baby #2 for over 2.5yrs!

Happy Birthday Braven!!

I know it's hard - milestones seem like a good idea when you are young but I've realised most of the time they just cause disappointment!! When I had DS I decided my cut-off for having kids was 35....well I just turned 36 on Friday and if this IVF doesn't work out I won't be stopping this year! :) Try to put these things aside and celebrate your special day today and have some renewed optimism about what the next year might have in store for you. I know it's easier said than done though :hugs: and happy, happy birthday!! :cake:

Tommy - YES!!! That would be so amazing - next month IS going to be your month!! I am so excited for you!! Come on IUI and that :bfp:

:hi: to everyone else!!

I have my blood test tomorrow so hoping for some good news and reassurance. I have been nauseous and feeling yuck for most of this afternoon. Nothing major but definitely there. Anyway I just want my betas so I know for sure things are working... Will let you know how they turn out x

Tommy thats fab news. About time for you too! Yep...your turn next!!

Orchid - well if your feeling sick that's definitely a good sign! I know you will be nervous though so thinking of you.

Braven - happy birthday and sorry you are feeling down about it all. The hardest thing to get over are the milestones we set ourselves! For me...i really really struggled to get iver the fact i wouldn't have the 2-3 year age gap i wanted. I was obsessed and found it so difficult when it became obvious that wasn't going to happen. We are realistically looking at probably 4 years now IF the surgery goes well!

Tommy - that is fab news!!! Really pleased the scan was so positive. Keeping everything crossed for you.

Brave - I felt the same when I turned 35, I pretty much thought that this is it, needs to happen while I'm 35. But you know what the risks aren't as high as we are led to believe. I was really panicking before I had my NT test and I have a 1 in 11,000 chance of a DS child, I think my score would have been better but they do take age into consideration. I think thats agest!! lol I really do hope that the year you are 35 is the year it happens for you. We're still young, 35 is the new 25! Happy Birthday! xxx

Orchard - understandably you are worrying, these early days are so scary. I hated it, I just willed the weeks away and kept wishing I hadn't found out at 4 weeks. As you had IVF do you get an early scan? My sister in law had IVF and her first scan was at 7 weeks. I hope the blood tests give you some reassurance, but the nausea sounds positive...maybe you've got 2 in there ;) I ended up having a scan at 9 weeks privately as I just couldn't wait any longer, had convinced myself there was something wrong. Now I'm almost 15 weeks and I think wow not too long and I'll know if I'm having a boy or girl. :)

:hi: Ladies!!!

Orchid - I am beyond stoked for you!!!:headspin::headspin::wohoo::wohoo::wohoo::loopy::loopy::loopy:<3<3:yipee::yipee:
I hope your bloods went well this morning and you will update us with the results as soon as you can!!! FX and HOH this is your sticky bean!!!!

Braven - Happy Birthday!!! :happydance::happydance: I know you don't feel like celebrating - I would say do not let TTC rob you of your happiness - you have made it another year... that's a great thing - let you family give you treats!! Hang in there lady... you are by no means out of the TTC game at 35... :hugs2:

Tommy - I am so happy you have finally moved on from those crazy cysts!! I will be HOH for you too so you can have this IUI and feel like you are finally moving forward!! and yes its only right that next month is your BFP!!!

cookie - you have any preference boy or girl??? and I am glad all is well and I can't believe you are 15 weeks already... seems to fly by...

AFM: :coffee::coffee::coffee: waiting for August 21st... my husband didn't realize that if I am on the pill there isn't really a chance for pregnancy... :dohh: bless his heart - he is really ignorant and we have been trying for almost 3 years !!! anyway...
well my niece is getting married and we had her bridal shower the 18th of July... she had a formal tea! I had never heard of that but ladies my mom, my daughter and me went and it was a hoot!!! Here are some pics of us...
Have a great week and if you are anywhere close to me today - stay cool!!! to all

Braven 35 is not old. But I hear what you are saying. I always wanted to have my first before I was 35, he was born days after my 36. But hey I'm glad he is here regardless of timing. I didn't want to be 40 and still trying but its just the way it goes.

Bex your op can't be far off is it?

Wish, my lovely, beautiful photos the tea sounds very sophisticated. Oh bless if he doesn't know that the pill will stop you getting pregnant duh! How is he coping now he has been enlightenment? Hugs to you Wish.

I should wish our pregnant ladies the best 😃 (not got to say that for a while 😊).

And hello to our mummies, thanks for stopping by.

:hi: ladies
all is quiet here!! I hope everyone had a great weekend (we know you did orchid!!!)

Tommy - getting closer and closer to your next IUI - I am super hopefuly that you and Orchid will be bump buddies!!!!

Bex - You are like me just waiting for time to pass so you can have your operation!! We are operation buddies!! Hopefully we will both be fixed in the same week!!! :hugs:

So much good news on the thread!! pregnant ladies and ladies well on their way to having a much wanted wee one!!! :happydance:

AFM: still taking my BCP's - like 8-9 months now!! I am a little skiddish about how I am going to do emotionally when I come off these buggers... but for now I am still taking them - stop the 14th and surgery the 21st... now for the fun stuff!! I have 3 more days to work (today is over already) and then my youngest and I are off to California... we are flying into San Diego and renting a convertible and driving north on the pacific coast highway - no real plans - we will go where the california sun leads us!!! hopefully to lots of beaches!!! (and my daughter is insisting on a photo op at the "Hollywood" sign):dohh: good times!!! when we get back she will start college on the 24th (and surgery for me!!) ladies - time sure flies - enjoy life - we are still on this side of the dirt!!! :haha:

Good Evening yes this thread has been rather quiet, maybe we need to go on a recruitment drive. Done that a few times before.

Wish your op isn't far away. Hope it goes ok. California just sounds fantastic. DH and I are considering it for Spring time 2016. Purely on the logic of where in the world would we really like to go before we are tied into school holidays. I can hardly believe DS will start school next year.
I've just had to google "this side of the dirt" fantastic expression. Do you think the op will increase your odds in any way. I'd love for you to get a surprise BFP.

Bex when is your date for surgery? If I remember rightly you aren't far away from Wishes date. Hopefully it will be fairly straight forward and you both has swift recoveries.

Braven how are you? Are you managing to drop some lbs, so you can get treatment?

Orchard how are you doing today? It is just fantastic the IVF has worked first time. Have you got any frosties left just being curious.

Cookie your ticker is absolutely flying along. Have you had your first scan yet?

Hello to everybody else xx

AFM I'm in the second half of the 2ww, fingers crossed my ovaries remain clear and nothing gets in the way of me starting the IUI cycle. It's bazaar I'm not holding out much hope on it actually working but I just want to get it started.

Wish - your trip sounds like it's going to be amazing! Have a lovely time.

Orchid - how are you doing?

Tommy - I'm keeping everything crossed for you, you really deserve for this to work. Try and think positive.

Yes I had my 12 week scan just over 3 weeks ago, everything went well and baby looked good, lazy (refused to move so someone else had to be scanned and then I went back in). I've got a private scan on Sunday to find out the gender, after my bleed at 13 weeks I thought it would be nice to see baby again, and also find out the gender. I do have a preference, I'd love a girl as I already have a boy but to be honest I'll be happy either way. We just want to know the gender so we can prepare. Since the bleed everything is going well, I use my doppler regularly and it's really helped to keep me calm, and my son loves hearing it.

I'll keep on checking in regularly as I really like to keep up with how you are all doing.

I'll let you know about the gender scan, I think general opinion (including my reflexologists - who is never wrong) is boy. So we shall see. My son wants a brother! :)

xxx

Hi girls!

Wish - I am so jealous!! That sounds like a fantastic trip!!! Have a great time, you deserve it :)

Tommy - I am so hopeful for you this cycle! Come on AF so you can get started :happydance:

Cookie - that's so exciting that you find out the gender of your baby so soon! I can't wait to find out whether it's a boy or girl.

:hi: to everyone else - how is everyone doing?

AFM: All good for now... My 1st beta came back super high at 476 so we were delighted. Beta 2 was still high (829) but hadn't doubled so I had to go for a 3rd on Saturday and it tripled to 2459 so all great and no more blood tests! Next up is my scan in just over a week. Nausea has been picking up the last few days.... this morning so far isn't bad but yesterday definitely wasn't great. Anyway just taking it day by day just now!

Hope everyone is well xxx

Oh that's fab Orchid, sounds like everything is going well. I know the first trimester is worrying and it seems like it lasts forever, but you'll get through it and before you know it you'll have a bump and will be sailing through the second trimester. Not long til your scan, let us know how you get on. xx

Hey ladies, how are you all?

Just thought I'd update you after my gender scan yesterday - we are having another boy! My son wasn't impressed, he said oh cornbucket (no idea where he got that saying from) and that he wanted a sister called Sienna. He's ok with it now. I think his main reason for leaning towards a girl was because he thought a girl wouldn't want to play with his toys. I was a teeny bit disappointed as I thought it might be a girl, but to be honest I'm just grateful that I'm pregnant. Had my 16 week midwife appointment and all is looking good, so feeling good and it's all becoming more real.

X

Cookie: Congrats! Little boys are precious, as you know. My 10 year old has been my best friend since the day he was born. What your son said is hilarious! I'm sure they will be best buds, though.

Orchid: Amazing news on the betas!!! I'm so excited for you and wish you an uneventful, happy and healthy 9 months. You deserve it!

I haven't posted in a while, but I do read the threads. I'm back on contract today, so please pray this school year will be full of blessings. Blessings to all the other ladies headed back into the classroom as well. And blessings for those of you trying for a baby. I know it takes its toll.

Cookie fab news all is well
TBH I can see advantages to having another boy as well as advantages to having a girl. I think with the age gap another boy means they are likely to get on better a few years down the line, ie its is cool for big brother to play with little brother and teach him "boy" things like trains, cars and football, rather than a little sister who wants to pay with pink things - eeeh no !!!

MWB I have been praying all year that 2015 will be full of blessings. And I hope that the academic year good for you to. What age of kids do you teach?

Hi Everyone - sorry I've been quiet over the past few weeks, I've had an absolutely manic time at work gearing up for me going off on sick leave! But that it is now, I am on holiday from now so I have time to get ready for my op next week. So as I will be laid up for a few weeks I should have lots and lots of time to post on here again yay!!!!

So it's busy here as we have the builders starting on Thursday - starting a large kitchen extension which will take 4 months to complete and then operation a week today! Eeek! I'm actually really excited about the op, I'm sure I wont be saying that just after but it is nice to feel positive!

will be checking in again here shortly to reply to you all!

Iui Round 3, (excluding round that was abandoned) pick up meds and start them tomorrow. It has taken me since 21st December to get here.

I can't actually believe it is going to happen, i can't even think about the outcome at this stage I'm just keen we actually get into the 2ww.

Yay tommy that's great news! So glad you can finally get this going! Come on BFP!
