35 and over and ltttc for baby #2 for over 2.5yrs!

Isaac - what a shame that he has another infection - esp. after the tests showed all ok. Hopefully the SA will all be ok. Hang in there - I know how hard this part of waiting is - once you know you are out you just want AF to arrive to get it over and done with and start a new cycle.

Cali- how strange!! Maybe it's sympathy spotting ;) !! Funnily enough Day 9 this month was probably the most I've had....I had a little yesterday as well but now it's totally stopped (day 11). Today I've started with all the usual pre-ov. symptoms - slightly lightheaded, nauseous, sensitive nipples this morning, bleeding gums and shaky and weak this afternoon! I also think I have been peeing a lot for the amount I have had to drink this afternoon! Same as last month so suspect I will ovulate in about 3-4 days - hopefully 4 as hubby is away til Thur night.... In some ways it's great that my body seems so predictable but in other ways it's just frustrating. I guess I should just be delighted that I ovulate though which is definitely one less thing to worry about!

Hugs to you all -FX Tommy that you don't need to start a new cycle and this one gives you your BFP.

I'm so glad for all of you lovely ladies! Although I wish none of us were in this situation it's so nice to have a group to talk to who understand and keep in touch! :hugs:

Well it turns out my spotting was just a super early AF!! I'm usually super regular so this is a shock. It's kind of nice to have her just show up without having to go through all of the torture of PMS and hoping that you're preggo. I feel like I've gotten an early fresh start.

The only thing is now I'm worried about whether it will go back to normal. My last cycle I was taking Clomid, Bravelle, and an Ovidrel trigger. They had me trigger early on CD 11 but for some reason AF was 2-3 days late. I'm guessing my hormones got kind of mixed up after that. Maybe I had a cyst or something.

Wow! How early did it start? Were you on meds for that cycle which is what caused it to be early?

I've started with EWCM today (sorry if TMI) and of course hubby is still away. He's not going to be home until super late tomorrow at the earliest so I have a feeling we might not even get a chance to try this month which really sucks :( Yet another month will go by with no positive outcome. I just hope he can go for his SA sooner rather than later as I REALLY want to move on and get some more tests done.

Urgh just found out hubby won't be home until Friday so think we will most definitely be out this month as the earliest chance we will get to BD is Friday night :( So frustrated although I know he can't help it. Feel so frustrated :(

Oh no WhiteOrchid hope your egg holds out for him!

Cali hope everything goes back to normal and this one was just a one-off. I've had a few shorter cycles, including this past one (well, not SUPER short, but 25 days). It is kinda nice knowing it won't be as long until the next chance to try.

AFM, scheduled my HSG today. Tuesday morning at 7 am. Oof.

Hey eyemom good luck with your hsg I found it ok at the time but I did have some pain and bloating after for 24hrs!
Cali- sorry af got you! She got me too cd 1 for me today! Woke up to it but here's to our next cycle.
Orchid- what a bummer about dh being away. A few times when dh has been away I have ovulated later like my brain tells my body to wait or something. Maybe get some opk's just to check x

Goodluck eyemom! Ouch 7am - that's impressive! Would definitely be interested to hear about it since I imagine that's what I will be going for next (if my DH ever goes for his SA!).

Isaac - Sorry that AF started today :( But onwards an upwards I guess to a new cycle and new opportunity! (Always easier to say if it isn't you!)

AFM - I imagine it's probably too late for me now to use OPK's....so I'll just stick to temping etc. My temp was WAY down today so I'm going to say tomorrow at the latest will be O day. I'm just keeping my fingers tightly crossed it holds off til later in the day so we can BD at night and at least try to catch it. Will know more tomorrow depending on my temp.

WhiteOrchid, this was an unmedicated cycle. I took Clomid/Bravelle and an ovidrel trigger last cycle. They had me trigger a day early and I think that is what has got me all messed up!

So sorry hubby is away. It really sucks when you don't get a chance to try. It always makes you wonder if that would have been the cycle where you got a bfp. Maybe the egg will hold off for a day or so. I hope your hubby gets a SA done sooner because I'm really curious about the result. My hubby had 0.5 percent morph too and low/borderline results on everything else.

eyemom, I guess by now you've had your HSG! Hope it went well!

IsaacRalph, sorry about AF, but here's to a fresh start. Maybe this will be your lucky cycle.

AFM: It ended up not being an early AF. I had one gush of mucus and old blood and cramps just like when AF starts flowing, but then by the time I got home it had completely stopped. I took my temp this a.m. and it was still high, so I guess it was just some random spotting. I will be sooooooooooo happy when this cycle is over with. Over the past two years, I have been able to count on my cycles being regular and now that has all been dashed to bits. I really hope this is just a one-time thing.

Yeah I haven't had my HSG yet, Tuesday of next week. Though when I scheduled that I was sure I was on my period, and I'm still bleeding but it's just so light. I never start so slow so it is very confusing. Just because I had gone several hours before bed and all night with no more bleeding, I took an hpt this morning (very low expectations, more just wanted to catch a chemical God forbid it happened that way), and it was still BFN. But it is just so weird. Hope I'm ready for that HSG by Tuesday.

Sorry for the weird cycle Cali. These things are so confusing. :(

I have a Question related to Lap....when you did it, how was the recovery?
And were you told you couldn't try to get pregnant for 3 months?

Cheers!
B.

eyemom I'm doing the Dye test too next month. If I'm not preggo this cycle.
I'm interested to hear about your experience. That's the HSG test right?
Also I'm doing a test where the doctor will place a camera into my uterus to see if he can find some thing!
I went to a new RE last week so we have a new game plan!!!

I will let you ladies know how it goes! (And yes, dye test = HSG.) I have scoured the internet looking for different ladies' experiences, and it seems like it varies a lot from woman to woman. So hopefully it'll be alright. I know I shouldn't think of it this way, but seems like a lot of women get their bfp after having this done, though really it is to be considered a diagnostic test not a fertility treatment! But I can't help but be hopeful it'll just clear out the cobwebs so to speak!

After this, I'm not sure what's next. We didn't discuss that far when I saw my Dr. Just did the TSH/Prolactin (normal). And SA (normal...quite good really). So this is the next and the last thing that was mentioned at that time. I think he just didn't want to get ahead of himself if it turned out to be male factor. So after this...dunno, maybe a lap if I were to guess.

Eyemom, ohhh, your HSG is next week. :dohh: I guess my eyes just slid right over that! I see you're having a confusing cycle too. It really sucks!! I hate not knowing the reason why my body is doing something different.

My HSG really wasn't that bad even though they couldn't get the dye through my right tube. I felt a lot of pressure and just when I thought I couldn't take it anymore, it was over.

A lap might be the next step, but a lot of docs don't like to do them unless they suspect endo. I had to really push my doctor to get it done and it's a good thing I did because they found out the cyst I had was not an ovarian cyst but a paratubal cyst which wasn't going away without surgery.

barbikins,
My lap recovery was both easier and harder than I expected. Easier in that I wasn't in any real pain afterward and only took the pain medications for less than 2 days and didn't get any of the gas pains in the shoulder most every one else gets. Harder, because it took a lot longer to feel 100% than I expected. It took a week before I felt able to go back to work, and even then I was slow. I started back working out after two weeks, but I really couldn't do a full workout. My incisions were still sore for well over 2 weeks. I'd say it took a good month before I started feeling 100% and stopped feeling any effects of the surgery.

I didn't have any restrictions whatsoever on TTC afterward, and I had a hysteroscopy at the same time too. My post op instructions were that I could resume that whenever I felt up to it. I was set to O about a week after my surgery, so we actually bd'ed four days afterward. It was fine but the incision sites were sore. I think all doctors have their preferences on how long to wait though.

I see you're doing a hysteroscopy too! Those are a breeze and when done by itself without a lap, the recovery time is minimal.

Well ladies it looks like I am well and truly out for this month TTC  I was hoping that if we BD tonight we might be in with a slim chance but just spoke to hubby who is on his way home feeling like he is getting the flu :( Now when he says "flu" we're talking man-flu but still will mean no BDing tonight :( Urgh just what I need - ANOTHER month of waiting. At least I guess this month I won't have to deal with the dreaded 2ww.

I hope you all have a good weekend x :hugs:

@eyemom, good luck to you!! Fingers crossed.
I hope it's gentle on you too :)

@Cali, thank you so much for sharing your experience! That's great :)
I guess you're right - everyone will recover so different.
The camera - you were sedated right? I'm told I will be. And if there's anything in there to remove, that'll happen too. BTW, just noticed your spoiler, congratulations!

@White, can you not entice your hubby? Tell him you'll do all the work?
That's the worst. Knowing you could but some thing's in the way. You never know. Men will do it pretty much any time as long as they're not barfing.

Oh my goodness Cali! I just read your spoiler after seeing barbikins comment!! Amazing - did you just find out today! I'm delighted for you and reading that has made my day - finally some good news on this thread! Can't wait to hear more!

Barbikins - haha that made me laugh! I will try my best to entice him so we'll see!!

HAHA but true! My hubby will do it any time as long as I do the work if he's tired or not well. He told me even if he was barfing he'd consider it :)
He's weird...lol

Haha! I think I would draw the line at barfing! It's bad enough when my son throws up on me!!! Too funny though :D

Hey girls my hubby will probably 99% perform with exception of throwing up at either ends, gross! Actually even the day after his cystoscopy we dtd, bless him!
Have we got our very first bfp in here cali? Omg congratulations. Please tell us all about it and how your feeling.
Orchid- hoping you get the chance to dtd and hubby isn't too unwell. We all have colds in our house atm!
Hi eye mom and barbikins hope both of you girls are ok. Really hope this is the start of us all getting bfps, this thread is already lucky considering we are all ltttc'ers.
Afm cd 2 af treating me fairly and got some good news today! My fertility nurse emailed me to say my dh sperm test was very good she didn't tell me the figures but that will do! Very relieved and will defo commence treatment in October. His previous has been 70 million concentration, 70%motility and 8-10% morphology so I'll be intrigued to know the numbers.

Thanks so much ladies! I can say from experience now that doctors put way too much emphasis on age when TTC. I think age is just a convenient scapegoat. I'm going to continue to lurk and cheer you ladies on! With secondary infertility, you really do have a good chance of sorting out your issues.

I got my beta back yesterday and it was good. I don't think I heard the nurse correctly because it seems really high at 251. I go back Sunday morning for another one so I will find out then what it really is. I have probably had more symptoms in this pregnancy than I did the whole time I was pregnant with dd. Each pregnancy really is different!

@Cali, thank you so much for sharing your experience! That's great :)

I had to be put under general anesthesia because of the lap, but I think for hysteroscopies, you don't really need it. Some docs will use general anesthesia and some will just put you in a deep sleep

Yup I found out yesterday morning. DH and I were planning on going out this weekend so I wanted to rule out pg before I had a drink. I felt the spotting was so unusual that I couldn't just write it off.

Your dh is a trooper. It must be good to know you can always count on him when you need to did! His sperm is really impressive!!!
