My midwife just told me that as there will be a 7 year gap between this baby and last, then I am back to square one when giving birth! This is my 4th child....any ladies out there left a gap between babies? Is the birth as hard and long as first time round?

I also have 7 years between my fist and this one.

i'm exactly the same so i'd like to know too, i never intended on having any more but split with my kids dad, got with someone else found out i was pregnant and he dont want nothing do with baby x

I hadn't planned on another baby due to bad hyperemesis but here I am and I am hoping it's not true!

There is 10 years between my children and my dr told me that even though we forget what its like the body never forgets so I can't see it being like a first baby which takes a bit longer

That was my fear! My first birth was long....and harder, the time cut in half for my next child. I don't really want to rewind all that hard work....

There is nearly 10 years between my 1st and last.

Your not back to square one at all.

I have no advice re labour as Katie came via the sunroof

There are 12 years between my 1st and 2nd and my 2nd was a breeze compared the the 1st. There will be 2 1/2 years between the 2nd and this one and I am praying this one is as easy as she was!!

there will be 7 years between my youngest and this one too. there are 12 years between me and my brother and my mam had an emergency section with him after a long labour as he was big. both my previous labours were only 12 hours but my daughter was big and a difficult delivery,i'm hoping for an easy one this time. :haha:

In 2009 I had a seven year gap between kids and the labor was longggg, 24 hours.

I have 10 years between my DD and DS. Both my labour's were about the same length (long...and slow). I don't know if it was because of the age gap or not as I've not had two close in age till now. There will be 3 years between my DS and the new baby. So I'm in the opposite situation, wondering if my birth will be quicker and easier because there is less of a gap.

Fingers crossed for you! :)

Stupid Mw they do talk cr£p sometimes :-D

I have a nrly 12yo and a just 4yo, and obviously pg again - the gap wasn't by choice but by nature, mc and secondary infertilty - it doesnt matter about age gaps for the children, for your body or anything else - ignore her hunny and enjoy your baby and also your big baby!!!

My 3rd labour was horrendous, decided thats its for us, but fate decided different and 8yrs later we found out we were pg again, said same as you nope i aint doing it, CANT do it as we both nearly lost our life during 3rd labour, BUT it was so easy the forth time 2hr 15 and out he pops completly healthy and soooo gorgeous......im hoping with this one its gonna be the same, quick and easy as this is the last one for sure.....im gonna tie a knot in his winkle myself!!!

I will have an 8 year gap between my first and only baby and this one. Almost exactly 8 years. I guess I hadn't thought of it being like the first because of the long stretch of time between - ick. Everyone keeps saying how the second is faster/easier but hmm I can see why perhaps not. Either way I think I can make it faster than my first baby. She took 12+ hours, I don't recall exactly. It was too long blah. But during the pushing phase - which is really the part that lasted too long - I can admit I was holding back a little. I was just so scared to really push! It's very scary when you don't know what it will feel like or what is happening exactly. But this time I am just going to go for it and get it out. I think that will speed things up considerably.

I'm going to have a 13 1/2 year gap between this one and my last one  First labour was 9 hrs and assisted delivery (forceps) 2nd one was 2 hrs start to finish and a breeze. I'm hoping this one will be the same :wacko:

7 sounds good to me! mine will be 14 & 16 when I have this little one. Talk about starting over!

Oh, I am not going to stress....can't change it anyhow :) Don't want to go back to a 24hr labour, but I guess I'll have to suck it up!

We also have a 7 year gap this time around (no 3) - and I sure hope my body will remember, because No 2 was a breeze with 2h from start to finish.
I am actually planning a home birth, so I hope even if it takes a bit longer, I will be able to relax.

No! There is a 7 year gap between my 2 and it was way easier the 2nd time round. I don't know if that was just me but my second was so much easier to deal with.
