8 weeks or less and here we come baby!:)

look sunshine i dont mean to be rude but you arnt in the same position so not sure why your critasizing. you also told me to get on with it the other week when i was in pain with spd. i have 7weeks for my baby to move before they intervene which may seem long but its not when your baby has always been in that position!! now im not getting all worked up so i will worry about my baby and you worry about yours im not gona tell you what to do.

take care

A friend of mine who is a day ahead of me, her baby has also been breech the whole way through, her midwife said not to worry, baby still has quite a bit of room and it wont be a concern til 36 weeks. She's not worrying about it for the time being though as he could turn anytime in the next few weeks, suppose it all depends on the baby lol

yeah it depends. its easy for midwives to tell you not to worry they are not the ones that would have to get baby turned and possible c section. we will see what happens, not seeing a doctor till 34weeks so prob not know for certain till then.

My first boy was breech from about 26 weeks so turned back up from head-down at 20 and I had a c-section at 38. They told me at 36 weeks it was too late for him to turn back as I am sooo small and there was no room whatsoever. But before then they told me not to worry and that the majority will turn before 34 weeks. I was in the minority. So in all likelihood hun your baby will turn for you and keeping my fingers crossed he does.

I hope so...i dont think they will do another scan. and i dont trust a midwife to just feel the belly cos they have told me the wrong position before in both my pregnancies, also told me my first was engaged she wasnt anywhere near engaged and failed to tell me dds were back to back. x

The MWs told me wrong from 26 weeks that he was head down when he bloody wasn't at all. I don't trust them either now lol. If it had been caught earlier they might have been able to try an ECV at 32 weeks to get him to turn but they didn't pick it up till 34. I am sure he was breech from about 26 weeks as all my movement and kicks were down low and the h/b was always up high when it was searched for but they still insisted he was head down, bulls**t lol, why would his h/b be localised at the upper left of my womb then
Sigh.

I know im the same felt the biggest majority of movement and kicks down low. i feel some higher up now but that must be the arms. the registar was trying to get me to go midwife led yesterday but no way i dont want a midwife in charge of me.lol x

why you not get a choice? i didnt get a choice other two times i dont like midwives being in charge

The system is different in my country I think, if you have no risks in your pg, as I don't, you are MW-led and that is that, the obs will only see you once a month unless MWs refer you back to them.

Pretty much all of the movement i feel is just above my belly button or lower. I've had no kicks to the ribs etc. My midwife said bubs was head down last week though, she seemed pretty sure. I dont mind being midwife led, they see thousands of patients a year, so surely must know what they are looking for. xx

Sunshine - congrats on becoming a squash hun. I think we stay that way for 4 weeks x

Our MWs get the majority of patients here too but were still wrong about me. If in doubt hun just keep annoying them till they scan you, the earlier a breech is caught the earlier they will try to do something about it. Don't end up with a c-section like me because MWs who thought they knew better wouldn't listen.

i will thanks hun will see if they scan me at 34weeks x

Totally agree. I like to stay open minded rather than generalise. Thanks hun. Another 4 weeks eh! Hope it goes quicker than the last 4. xx

Ive had 2 kids already, just my experience id rather have a doctor in charge or me than a midwife. :)
i remember some midwife telling me i wasnt even in labour then examined me and i was 6cms lol she sure knew what she was talking about ;-) lol x

I was open-minded till the MWs wouldn't listen when I said E wasn't in the right position because of the odd movement pattern and I ended up with a c-section when something could have been done earlier to try and turn him. Sometimes bad experiences will colour views and unfortunately make us generalise. I know I'm not trusting of MWs now at all.

Mrsctobe - I don't think Sunshine was criticising you hun. I think she was just trying to reassure you. There is a thread on 3rd about a lady whose baby is transverse. Someone posted a link about different exercises you can do to encourage movement. Have a look. They might work for you.

My baby swaps from transverse to head down very regularly but was a diagonal breech the majority of the time from 20-27 wks. I asked at my 23wk app and they dismissed it. They don't track position until post 32wks in my area. Csections aren't offered as standard for all breeches anyway. It depends on what type of breech you have.

Personally I am selecting midwife care because I want as little interference as possible. I don't want to be in a clinical environment if I'm healthy enough to not need it. We grew up in a hospital environment (my sister was extremely ill growing up) and in my experience nurses have a better understanding of the subtleties in care required. Drs understand clinical decisions but not necessarily the patients feelings and requirements. Obviously you do get useless mws and labour is so unpredictable, so you need to choose the style that best suits you.

Yes Notnic, you are right I wasnt and thanks for pointing that out. TBH Im past caring what she thinks which is why I didnt respond to her last post nor will I be responding to any in future (and based on how downright rude she was on various other threads yesterday, neither will alot of other ladies.)

Have a good day folks!!! :)

Hope I haven't upset anyone :flower: My experience with MWs has been shit, that's all. I was in the 3 percent whose baby failed to turn though, it really is a minority and I was unlucky.

yes i am rude to people that are rude to me sunshine! you have been support but also rude to me on occasions. you have not had the same things ive had in my pregnancy yet you tell me to GET ON WITH IT with i was in pain last week. and you are telling me what not to worry about when you arnt in same position lets leave it at that instead of starting another row eh!!
