9/11

9/11 It was the day before my 16th birthday and our teacher told us in class, then I went home and watched the news

7/7 I was at work and someone came in and told us in the office, I remember going straight on the internet to see what it said on the news :(

9/11 I was 13 and saw the news when i got in from school:nope:

I don't know why but i don't remember where i was 7/7, even though it was recently. I can remember diana dying like it was yesterday though!

9/11 i was at school, little did i no how much that day would change my life as my oh is in the army and will be going afghan next yr :(

9/11 I was sitting at home and my husband phoned me up to say turn the news on something odd is going on at the trade towers (he had only caught a clip on the radio at work) I sat there all day watching live broadcasts and phoning hubby up to tell him what was going on as they didnt have a tv.
I remember watching the 2nd plane hit and the towers falling and even some clips of people so desperate that I never want to see again

7/7 same sort of thing, hubby phoned up asking could I find out what was going on and I kept saying im sure theres been some sort of explosion and somthing to do with the underground and everyone saying dont be silly its just a gas leak or somthing but I knew from the moment I saw the news it was more then that.
My mum and her friend where out doing some furniture deliveries in that area and I kept trying to get hold of them and tell her to get out of the area as I was sure somthing was going to happen but they got stuck with roads being shut off.
Luckely they where delivering beds and hid in the back of the van under a load of matresses

9/11 i was at work ...
It came on the radio and im embarrassed to say i didnt know what the twin towers were or where they were
When someone explained i remember thinking 'its probably a remote controlled plane or hand glider or somthing,
OH picked me up from work and we got home in time to see the 2nd plane crash ... gobsmacked is a understatement... we didnt move from the TV for hours, we sat watching it all unfold, in tears,
my was mum trying to reach my Auntie in New york to see if my uncle was ok .. but she couldn't get through so i spent alot of the time on the phone to her too.
He wasn't there thankfully ... oh but all those poor people

7/7 .. my 3rd child had been born on July 4th so was only 3 days old, my mum was with us, helping with the other LO's, another day sat in front of the TV, in shock

9/11 I was at school and remember getting on the school bus home and hearing about it :(

7/7 I was at my summer job and remember my sister trying to get out of London as she was at work right by it all :(

9/11 was at school

7/7 think i was just in the house and heard it on the news

I was in school, 6th grade. everyone was freaking out and they let us watch the tv even though the principal said no. and then when the hijacked flight came on, a girl in my class had a family member on that flight so everything got insane

but honestly, seeing those towers falll...and when they showed the live video of people..jumping....will stay with me forever.

I was in bed (it was about 9:00 am here) and my mom woke me up after the 2nd plane crashed into the South Tower. At first we thought it was an accident and that the 2nd plane crashed because of all the smoke from the first crash. It was confusing. At 9:30 am the third plane hit the Pentagon and then we knew for sure it was no accident! I was scared wondering what was going to be hit next. I watched the tv all day. It was shocking seeing videos of people jumping to their deaths just to escape the flames. Some of the videos showed people hitting the ground around the towers. Those videos weren't shown again after that day.

About 9:30am the FAA ordered all flights to be grounded. A few minutes later I heard a plane outside. My mom and I went outside to look. We saw the plane. We didn't know where it was heading. It must be landing at the airport an hour away. But no--that same plane crashed soon after in a coal strip mine outside Shanksville, Pennsylvania about 150 miles from my home. It was United Airlines Flight 93 that we saw that day. Around the time we heard the plane the people on board we preparing to break into the cockpit and stop the hijackers.

Same, when we watching something on it last night i said to OH how desperate those poor people must have felt to jump from 90 floors up.

I was getting ready for work one morning. I usually watched a baby show at that time but for some reason I switched to the news that day. They were talking about the first plane crashing into the tower and then I saw the second plane crashing into the polygon.

I was over 7 months pregnant with my first at the time and as I was driving to work all I kept thinking was "Is this the start of a war?" "Should I even be going to work?" So many thoughts.

I think I might have jumped too.....I remember talking to my mom about it...god and those horrible 911 calls

I read an article about 1 firefighter who died after someone who jumped out of the towers landed on him.

:cry::cry::cry::cry:

I was up having a coffee and watching a TV show when my friend called me in a panic telling me it was the start of WW3.

I had no idea what she was talking about, and when I changed the channel it was a little bit before the towers fell. I worked in an automotive factory at the time and when I went into work that afternoon I was sent home two hours later due to the borders being closed and we ran out of bins to pack our parts into.

The worst for me was watching the news that night, where there wasn't anything new to report but the news crews didn't want to leave either so they let family members have air time in asking if people had seen loved ones who were missing. They were asking about people who were on the floors above where the planes had hit and you just knew they were gone.

Watching those people cling to any sort of hope that their loved ones were still alive really decimated me. I felt so awful for them, wished I could've done something.

9/11 - I was in my A-level history class and the tutor came in and told us. I remember him saying "so you may be around to see another world war". My cousin was out there at the time and so I called my mum to find out if she'd heard anything but nobody had. He'd gone over to Brooklyn that day and was due to fly back home on the friday (13th as I remember) but he didn't get back til the sunday.
7/7 - I was at work and a customer came in and told us. On my lunch break I went home because I only lived 5 mins up the road and called all the people I knew who could likely have been there.

Like most people I will never forget those days and I never forget to say a prayer for those who died on the anniversaries of those awful days  xx

9/11: I remember crying in the car outside the supermarket and being totally terrified by what was unfolding, I remember crying for days afterwards.

7/7: I was on study leave and sitting in my brother's bedroom watching the TV when the news came on, I remember ringing my Grandmother because my Aunt lives in London, she was safe but had been just about to go into one of the tube stations when it happend. I tried to ring my college tutor an hour later and the phone wouldn't ring through because the lines were so busy.

I'll never forget either of those days.

9/11- I was at work, I worked for a British branch of an American firm, most of the staff were American and it was awful, the whole company closed that day and we all spent it just glued to the TV in the cafe.

ETA: someone just sent me this link https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D91GQRX3YdY&feature=player_embedded#!

9/11 I was at work sitting at my desk when my mom called me after the 2nd plane hit. We turned on the one teeny tiny TV that we had and nobody got any work done the rest of the day.
