9/11

I cried like a baby watching that video!
Now Im going for a cuddle with my dog! x

9/11 I was at school and I remember coming home from school and my mum was home just stood in front of the tv staring and I could tell something was wrong straight away.
I've watched fahrenheit 9/11 (Micheal Moore movie) so many times and every single time, it make me go all cold
x

9-11 I was in high school

March 11th the Bombings in Spain - was my wedding day

7-7 bombings in London I was hanging out with my nephew and was trying to explain when I didn't understand myself.

thank you all so much for sharing.
i was already in oregon (i'm from boston) on september 11th 2001. I was at school, all the teachers were crying, no one was in their classrooms. All of the students sat in the hallways, which were lined with tv's with the footage, most of us watched the second plane hit. I was terrified. Shortly afterwards, my father came to school and picked me up.
My grandparents were in New York that weekend, and were planning on leaving tuesday morning, the 9th of September. They were staying Marriott Hotel at 3 World Trade Building. My whole family was in a panic. Luckily, my grandparents had checked out early and were a few blocks away getting breakfast together before they left New York. They watched the whole thing. We finally got ahold of them later that night.

I found out about the Londan attack while I was at school, scared the crap out of me.

I have a lot of friends, a brother, a brother-in-law who joined the Marines after the attacks. They all always remind me, that the lives lost that day, were not in vain, because of the men and women who continue to fight for our freedom, and i agree.

9/11 was at school..didn't know what had happened but we overheard a teacherr saying he had to go home because of an explosion in america...wasn't until later we found out just what had happened :(

7/7 I was doing work experience at the police, so found out pretty much right away and everything went pretty crazy as they had to up security everywhere.

Such an awful thing :(

I remember distinctly! I was walking to the technology building in school and someone said something about a plane hitting the world trade centre. When I got him about an hour later my parents had it on and I was speechless! We had been learning about the towers just the last week in school.

9/11 i was in school...each classroom was given a tv(only 3 classrooms as was in primary)

we watched the second plane hit...my mum called and dragged us outa school took us home and hugged us all as we watche dthe news. my teacher ran screaming out of the room

she lost her brother that day

7/7 is my brothers birthday. We were on our way to the swimming pool. My mum onoly let us swim for an hourn then we went home

we later found out a family friend who used to look after us and was 6 months pregnant with her first little girl (she had two boy previously) she had just literally moved to london with her hubby. I think her b=hubby died that day or he was sevrely injured.

just makes me cry.

9/11 I'd just come home from school. I think I was in year 6.

7/7 found out at lunch time in school.

9/11: I was at work and I didn't hear about it until I got home. I put the TV on and saw the news was on all the channels. I rushed outside to where my then OH was working in the garden and said 'OMG what has happened today?' and he didn't have a clue so we both went inside and sat down in front of the TV in absolute shock and remained glued to it for the rest of the night.

7/7: Was very scary for me. I lived in London and was at work (as a teacher). We heard about it on the radio in the staff room as it had just happened. I knew my dad, a teacher at another school was taking a party of school kids into central London on a trip that day and would have been on one of the affected tube lines at about the time it happened. A lot of my colleagues had family who would have been travelling on the tube to work at that time. We were all trying to ring to make sure everyone was okay and none of us could get through. Mobiles didn't work at all :(. I had to teach my class of 5 year olds worried sick but putting a brave face on it and acting all cheery, not knowing how serious it was, if any of my loved ones were involved and whether all the children's mummies and daddies would be there to collect them at home time. It was a horrific day.

9/11 I was at home sick off work watching TV when the news flash came on. I remember phoning my Dad and talking to him as the second plane hit the south tower :(

7/7 I was at work and think someone who phoned in told me x

9/11 - I was walking back from the shops with my sister and we'd popped in to see our cousin and she was watching it on the news. We saw the second plane hit and we were all in shock. I was 14 and I remember thinking 'how is there that much evil in the world?'

7/7 - Me and my sister were watching a film when it got stopped and the news came on. She was in a panic as a friend of hers was in London that day

9/11: I was 10 and I came home from school and saw it on the news. I didnt realise how serious it was.
Today i watched 9/11: State of Emergency on 4OD and its the first time i've actually seen the planes going into the towers. And it has REALLY affected me. How can people do that :nope: I cant even imagine the fear and pain those people felt

7/7: Again i was at school but actually heard about it in school. I heard about the bus explosion then heard about the rest when i got home.

x

9/11 I had an orthodentist appointment to have my braces removed. I had just come out and was walking into the train station to get home and put my walkman radio (!!) on, I remember it should have been the Chris Moyles afternoon show and there were at least 5 songs played in a row and I remember thinking that was really odd. Then Chris Moyles stopped one song halfway through (I can't remember what), to explain that they weren't doing the normal show due to events unfolding in America and at that time they weren't sure if it was an accident. Just then he shouted over saying a second plane had hit the second tower and my jaw literally dropped; I was sat at the station with my mouth wide open and this little old lady asked me if I was OK. I told her. I got home and watched TV for hours. Those images will haunt me forever and I knew that life would never be the same.

I can't actually remember where I was for 7/7

9/11 I was home from school watching it all on TV. Was 17.

7/7 I was in an Army interview and word came in. My dad was in London that day and travelling on tubes so had a frantic few hours trying to trace him.

9/11 i was at school and there was loads of rumours going around about it, of course i didnt believe it at first until i got home from school and my mum was in front of the tele watching the news where i sat and watched and cried.

9/11

WHERE WAS I? Getting into my OH's car after college, and he told me. He'd come to pick me up. He was in a hurry because he'd spent the afternoon watching the reports on Sky News and wanted to get back.

MY FIRST REACTION? "What are the twin towers?" - Seriously, I had no idea what they were  When we got home we were just in time to turn on the telly and see the second plane hit. OH's parents were visiting the Pentagon that day and they saw the plane there from a nearby hill.

7/7

WHERE WAS I? At work, on reception. The receptionist was on leave, so I was covering.

MY FIRST REACTION? Don't really remember, although I don't think I was surprised. It was my job to call everyone that works in our office, speak to them personally to ensure their safety, because during the week they go all about England, and half of them would have been in the London commute. There was a meeting in York that day that a lot of people were attending, and because they were in the meeting they had their phones switched off. It took me the entire day to get all the people to call me; I was going mad. They were like "I'm in Leeds, you know I'm in Leeds" and I had to say "yes, but you may have gone through London to get there, so I have to double check". Honeslty, half of them got annoyed with me, but it was my job to ensure I spoke to every single person. I also had to try to contact my dad, to make sure he wasn't there. He wasn't answering his phone for hours, and I was getting worried, when he called me back to tell me he was in Paris :dohh:

Just wondering; to all the people in USA, Canada etc: was the news about the 7/7 bombings televised where you are? It's all related to 9/11, but half the time I think they don't bother mentioning this stuff. Half the friends I know in the States have no idea 7/7 even happened, and for us, it's massive. We automatically hear about things in the States, but I don't think that other people hear about things like this in the UK.
