Anyone in their 20's and ttc #1?

Hey! I wanted to know if any of you ever tried fern test? Did it work out? Before OPK'ing i tried fern test, it appeared pretty handy but didn't work out for me.

AF came today, Temp dropped also at least I can start a fresh. Slightly unsure regarding my +OPK, first + was 28th making me 13dpo, second was on the 4th meaning AF came only 7 days after?

so peachy I just went back and opened the link I had posted and it didn't work for me but I found it through a search.

Did it work when you tried or would you like me to post the new link?

The link doesn't work but I was able to google "nicole jardim how long should your period be" and find the article. Thank you for posting, I found tons of great reads on her page! I've had her bookmarked since you posted it.

I've never tried it, but read a little about it when we first started ttc. What is it like? where do you buy it?

My hubby purchased it for me. Its called Geratherm ovucontrol, has a microscope inside. All you gotta do is see the fern pattern, i used it for abt month (before tryin' OPKs) and it never appeared. So i won't recommend it to anybody.

Good luck peachy! :dust:

I get my LH shot Tuesday so bding tonight when I get home (if I get home. Benn sitting in traffic for an hour and gone 3 miles. Still have 655 to go).

Good luck to everyone BDing! FX 😊

Hmm that sounds cool! I am in love with OPKs though, haha!

Flarmywife, thanks for the dust :) I haven't heard of LH shots? to induce ovulation? GL tonight!! sorry about the long drive.

Kariss, every other day is hard but every 2-3 days would be a little easier. At least until you are about to ovulate, then as much as possible! sorry about AF and the thermometer. Hope your week gets better!

I get positive OPK for like 48 hours, afterwards it turn -ve. Is it normal? Right?

Peachy- Yeah my Dr has me do Clomid days 5-9 then between CD 13-15 I go in for a follicular ultrasound where they do a vaginal ultrasound and measure the follicles, count them, etc. If they're a good size they give an LH shot to induce ovulation and tell you to BD that night, 2 nights later, and 2 nights after that. Then day 21 or so they have you go in for labs and they check the progesterone levels to see if you ovulated and if you're possibly pregnant.

Yep, that's normal! I've had an LH surge for as long as 5 days! My LH surge this month barely lasted 24 hours. (I know bc I tested 3 times a day lol!) But 2 days is perfect. You should ovulate within a day after that.

That sounds like a great set up! Your Dr sounds great. Mine sometimes acts like she doesn't care... she prescribed me clomid really fast and has never monitored me. I mean I was barely TTC and she gave it to me. I've heard so many say that most dr's wait at least a year! I was having pain on my ovary a few months back and I asked her for an ultrasound to check for a cyst and she talked me out of it lol. :nope:

Oh wow! Such a terrible Dr in my oppinion. Granted we had been trying for almost 8 months by the time He prescribed me clomid, he still ran blood work and a semen analysis before doing the prescription. Most Drs do tell you that you have to wait a year so I was super happy mine didn't.
If your DR isn't monitoring you then how it she supposed to know it's even doing what it's supposed to? (which is to help follicles mature better/fast). It can increase your likelihood of multiples because sometimes it stimulates multiple follicles that end up releasing eggs.

Is it possible for you to see another Dr to get a second opinion? If you have a cyst it could be playing a huge role in your TTCing

I think that you are right and I might need a new dr! Last time I saw her, she told me she didn't mind me staying on clomid for longer (I've already been on it for 6 months) I mentioned reading online that it was bad for you to be on it for more than 6 months and she just shrugged! I don't ovulate without it, which is why I haven't changed dr's yet. She did mention the chance of multiples. Btw, what mg clomid are you on? I did 50 mg for the first 3 months, then 100 mg for these last 3.
