Anyone in their 20's and ttc #1?

I definitely think you need to see a new dr. There are other meds that can help you ovulate. Six months is a long time! They said if after 3 months it hadn't work we are going to do more test.
The first month I did 50mg.after my blood test my dr decided my progesterone want high enough and bumped me to 100mg this month. I'll find out tomorrow how it went follicle wise

Peachy- Yeah my Dr has me do Clomid days 5-9 then between CD 13-15 I go in for a follicular ultrasound where they do a vaginal ultrasound and measure the follicles, count them, etc. If they're a good size they give an LH shot to induce ovulation and tell you to BD that night, 2 nights later, and 2 nights after that. Then day 21 or so they have you go in for labs and they check the progesterone levels to see if you ovulated and if you're possibly pregnant.

That sounds like a great set up! Your Dr sounds great. Mine sometimes acts like she doesn't care... she prescribed me clomid really fast and has never monitored me. I mean I was barely TTC and she gave it to me. I've heard so many say that most dr's wait at least a year! I was having pain on my ovary a few months back and I asked her for an ultrasound to check for a cyst and she talked me out of it lol. :nope:

Oh' thanks. :)
Peach!
For how long you have been trying?

Oh wow! Such a terrible Dr in my oppinion. Granted we had been trying for almost 8 months by the time He prescribed me clomid, he still ran blood work and a semen analysis before doing the prescription. Most Drs do tell you that you have to wait a year so I was super happy mine didn't.
If your DR isn't monitoring you then how it she supposed to know it's even doing what it's supposed to? (which is to help follicles mature better/fast). It can increase your likelihood of multiples because sometimes it stimulates multiple follicles that end up releasing eggs.

Is it possible for you to see another Dr to get a second opinion? If you have a cyst it could be playing a huge role in your TTCing

I think that you are right and I might need a new dr! Last time I saw her, she told me she didn't mind me staying on clomid for longer (I've already been on it for 6 months) I mentioned reading online that it was bad for you to be on it for more than 6 months and she just shrugged! I don't ovulate without it, which is why I haven't changed dr's yet. She did mention the chance of multiples. Btw, what mg clomid are you on? I did 50 mg for the first 3 months, then 100 mg for these last 3.

Thats weird, there are lots of side effects of clomid. You should have stopped by now. I would say to change your doctor and get a second opinion.

Baby journey:
I just had to reply to this! I completely understand what you're saying. My fiance's two sisters both got pregnant (one due next month) during the time that me and my fiance have been trying and i can't stand them talking about their bumps or baby clothes etc: i'm just so envious! I want to be pregnant and have been trying for nearly eight months now whilst the got pregnant the second month of trying! I try and avoid them but just know our time will come! Xx

Oh' thanks. :)

For how long you have been trying?

We started actively trying April 2014. So this cycle was 1 year of TTC.

My DH says he wont 'let me' take any more clomid or he will stop doing his part! lol so I guess this month was my last chance. I'm 3 dpo right now and hoping it worked because it might be ages before I ovulate again!

Peachy- LOTS of :dust:

Hope you ovulated!

I got my post clomid HCG shot to induce ovulation today so FX here. We got this Peachy!

This whole tww thing sucks hahah I know you all share my some frustration. I've had a lot of symptoms this month and I don't think I made them up... However, this morning woke up with nice pimple in normal pms pimple spot on my face. Now I think all my symptoms maybe we're fake or pms.
Only thing I couldn't make up was temp drop on 8dpo and spike on 9dpo. I've had cramping, extreme back pain (low right side), breast hurt to even touch (just for one day), and so so sleepy. Was going to go to yoga but I just can't keep my eyes open tonight.
Why can't we just chose when we want to have a baby haha

Yes our time will come. I have complete faith in Allah. :)
I wish you good luck and lets just wait for that perfect moment.
At times i imagine how it would be like when i shall hold my baby for the very first time. Fx

Hey! I am new here but yes, I'm 26 and we are still ttc our first. Have been trying now for 16 months with no success!! Have been having some tests recently and everything is coming back absolutely fine, which is giving me some much more optimistic feelings but also frustrating the hell out of me because I just don't get how it hasn't happened yet.

My other half's brother and his wife got pregnant in their first month of trying, which was the month that we decided to start too. Baby is now 7 months old and beautiful. We love her loads but it is hard sometimes when it is all you want.

Does anyone hear people moaning about their kids and think "I will never, ever do that." after this struggle? I can't imagine ever resenting them or feeling bad about getting up in the night or having tantrums in supermarkets. I know they are often flippant remarks, but it is starting to make me feel sad.

I know what ya mean!! Wouldn't that be awesome if we could just choose the day! I have different symptoms every month and each time I am convinced I am pregnant! It is really frustrating. The only good thing that has come out of it taking this long is that my DH is becoming more and more fatherly as time passes. He was excited to ttc when we first started but he didn't think babies were too cute, he didn't really show too much interest in it, but now he smiles and goes "aw" at baby photos and asks to hold my friend's babies! It only makes me want to give him one even more.

Hi a_florrick! I'm happy to hear your tests came back all good. But yes, I know what you are saying! I have a friend who is pregnant and she only talks about 'getting her body back' and never about how wonderful her body is for being pregnant! It is annoying at times. I couldn't imagine myself ever getting mad or frustrated at our own children because we have wanted them for so long.. but I can see how it would be tough at times, especially for women who have had multiples or babies back to back! I am excited to do those things because I want to be a mother :)

Hello everyone :)

24 and TTC #1.
Nervous, but realizing I shouldn't be!! I guess just anxious and excited and worried about what everyone will say...

Peaches I agree my hubby is sooo excited. He has as much baby fever as we. And it's so cute haha

Hey girls, just wondering had anyone tried the smep? I've heard it's got good success rates. I'm on Cd6 - had a chat with oh last night and his agreed to try it this month starting on day 8 :happydance: if it doesn't work this month then we are going to take a more relaxed approach the following

It's gunna be hard as were both working shifts ATM and lucky if we see each other for 2 hours on an evening as we pass each other :growlmad:

Kariss- I haven't personally but a lot of people have with success. it's worth a shot and like you said, if it doesn't work you can always go back to a more relaxed schedule

Hi ladies! I'm new here and hubby and I are TTC#1 this month!

I am 28 and hubby is 29, we've been married for 1.5 years and have not been preventing since June of last year but haven't 'tried' at all. We've decided to try this month as I've finally been having somewhat normal periods since going off BCP last year. We'll see what happens! I'm really not wanting to 'try' and want to just have fun but I know after a few months if it doesn't happen I will start stressing and wondering what's going on haha I've been taking prenatals, Vitamin B6, Vitex and Maca for the past 4-6 months so I'm hoping that will help us conceive soon. I'm trying not to get my hopes up!

I tried smep last cycle, BFN. I didn't like doing it every other day because I always worry about sperm count... but this cycle we didnt BD for almost 5 days then I got my LH surge so we BD'd 3 days in a row, skipped a day and one more. So it was similar to smep but without the every other day starting CD 10.
