April BD's BRING May BFPs!!

Clynn, as a scientist who runs both westerns and ELIsAs, I can say that they have different sensitivities. Perhaps you should ask the dr what the titer concentration was on the tests... See what he says to that ;)

Ugh Cassidy- it all sounds awful and the worse part is how awful DH is feeling and seems like nothing is helping. Prayers sent your way!

Cassidy, I'm so sorry to hear that! I hope he can get some relief, what ever it may take! Poor guy! Huge hugs to you for sticking by and taking care of him during this ordeal!

Emily, my gyno is actually on the Thurs the 25th, now, to give AF time to go away, but I didn't update my ticker since it was just a few days difference. Yeah, we are going to discuss fertility and I'm almost certainly going to schedule a specialist appointment after I've seen the gyno (he said he'd rec testing after 9 months and I figure 8 will be close enough). I've got a FS all picked out and plan to have them look into everything just to make sure we don't waste time if there's something wrong that can be fixed. Hopefully, if something needs fixing, all I'll need is medication. TBH, I'm scared there will be something so wrong I won't even be able to do IVF with my own eggs and/or body. DH and I have agreed to do donor embryo or donor embryo + surrogate, if need be, but I hope it doesn't come to that (so expensive for the surrogate! and we'd have to morn the loss of having a bio connection with our child, but being parents is what's important to us so bio connection is optional).

I'm excited/nervous to get my Suzy reading. I hope she doesn't predict no kids for me, because that's a bummer to hear even if she's wrong. I hope she predicts something hopeful, so I can hope she's right!

I'm glad your migraine went away, yay! :happydance:

I'm the same with exercise - I like watching tv while I do it (or use the Wii Fit game). I have a little stepper ('cause that's all that will fit in my living room) but if I could get a treadmill in there, I would.

An extra dose of FX'd for your next cycle, Nichole! (LOL, I just realized on the other group I still use NTaber, instead) :dust:

---

Gah, Cassidy, that sucks to have conflicting diagnosis! Maybe you could get a third opinion? Keeping you both in my prayers, hope you get answers and he gets relief soon! :hugs::hugs::hugs:

---

Thanks for all the condolences and good lucks for next month, everyone! :hugs::hugs::hugs:

In other news for me, I've got a terrible backache today requiring a heating pad, and earlier, 3 advil. Ugh, it's like the cramps stayed away from my abdominal area but resurfaced in my back! I was hoping I'd never get bad cramps again, boo! But before, I'd have had bad ab cramps on top of the back cramps, so still an improvement. :|

Two nights ago I dreamed that I got two BFPs in a row. Last night I dreamed I was visiting a friend in the hospital giving birth and went into several rooms of laboring moms. Here's hoping it means something hahah. Maybe it falls under that "vivid dreams" category of symptoms in the 2ww.

Waves-- Definitely sounds like it!

Im only on CD 5 and bored. AF is still here (weird because AF normally only lasts 3 days tops). Wishing this cycle would hurry up!

I am only cd1 and I am already wishing ovulation would hurry up and get here lol. I need to learn how to be a more patient person :haha:

How's everyone doing?!?! Very quiet today. I'm excited for AF to show eventually (no idea when I o'd, so no idea when she's coming..) but i'm excited to get this next cycle started!! DF is feeling a little better, FX it stays that way.

Good to hear he's feeling better Cassidy! Hopefully they figure out exactly what the heck is going on soon. Bummer you missed your window this cycle but if Suzy's prediction is right your next cycle should be the one!

I started testing today, big fat BFN :/ will keep testing daily though

Yay, so glad your DF is feeling a little better, Cassidy! :D

Ash- It could be this next cycle, or depending on how long my cycle is- I could have another cycle start at the very end of May. So we'll see! FX!

Thanks ST :hugs:

Ashlee- Boo, keep testing. You're not out till AF comes! Crossing my fingers for you!

Cassidy, thats GREAT news that DF is feeling better! woohoo! and I just got a weird feeling in the pit of my stomach-- I have a feeling that you're going to get a bfp this month! I sure hope so, at least! Everyone says it happens the cycle you try least!

Nichole, Im right there with you. I want this cycle to hurry up so i can O!

afm, I think we will miss my fertile period this month because OH will be away..but i'm going to still try to get a few bd's in while i can! I am still considering ordering fertilaid..I don't know if OH will take it as much as he should, but i guess we can try. Are there any other supplements that your OH's take? or just a good multivitamin?

Cassidy I hope you do get that BFP next cycle! You've earned it with all the stress you've had this cycle.

Robert- Thanks! I definitely will keep testing. I've been having some smell sensitivity and bbs are pretty sore which isn't a typical AF symptom for me. Also, I've been drinking fertilitea which is made by the same company as fertilaid, I know they have a mens version called verilitea. My df isn't a tea drinker or I would have bought it for him since he's horrible at taking pills. But I've heard good things about fertilitea, so I figured I'd give it a shot, doesn't taste bad either

Cassidy-So glad to hear he's feeling better! I hope he keeps feeling better and they can get to the bottom of what caused it.

Ashlee-Keep testing girl! You're not out til the witch shows :)

AFM-I'm not sure what's going on with my body...I haven't been as focused on ttc this month since I want to focus on getting healthy. I've been doing all the regular things, just not quite as obsessively lol Well, I had my positive opks. My cervix was kind of strange though, it would be open and then medium, then open and then medium. Usually it stays open for several days until after O. Then my temps have been pathetic. They have ranged 97.7/97.8 with a few random dips/spikes. So, now they've gone up to 98.1 and 98. I'm assuming I O'd, but that's not much of a spike! I took out a few of the randoms, so hopefully my coverline will be correct. It's just making me question when I actually O'd. I didn't really notice any ovulation pain this month, but I've only noticed the past few months. Maybe I wasn't paying attention? Anyway, I need to know when I O'd so I can make my cd21 appointment. I guess I'll have to wait and see what my temps do.

Emily-I got my hair analysis back! Here are my results:

-MINERALS: My calcium and magnesium levels are super high and zinc is a little high. All other minerals are pretty normal. High calcium usually means it's not being utilized properly by the body. It can cause joint stiffness, changes in skin/hair texture, and low energy levels (which I have all of). It is caused by either thyroid or adrenal functioning, which I've been tested for and levels are normal OR it is caused by poor nutritional intake (low protein, excessive sugar and refined carbs-which sounds like my diet :S ).
Magnesium also causes fatigue and is caused by high calcium and/or excessive carb intake/low protein intake.

-TOXIC METALS: All my toxic metals are very low levels, so no concerns there! (I was worried about my mercury levels bc I love sushi and bagels and lox...)

-ADDITIONAL ELEMENTS: They have a category of metals that aren't proven to have any major effects on the body like the toxic metals, I have high tin which comes from canned foods, dental things (treatments, toothpaste, mouthwash, etc), herbs, etc.

-RATIOS: High calcium/potassium, high zinc/copper, and low sodium/magnesium. Symptoms of all of these that I have include; fatigue, constipation, and over-weight tendencies.

-I've been labeled as Slow Metabolism. Basically this is caused by my diet and then I have list of foods to avoid and foods to eat.

We will have a consultation this week where I will weigh in, we will talk about my results and talk about foods that I like/don't like. Then I believe she makes my meal plan...at least I sure as heck hope so! I'm tired of waiting to get started. I weighed in on Friday (forgot Thursday) and had gained about 3 lbs :(

Cassidy- I hope your DH keeps feeling better!

Julie- Will you share the list of foods to avoid as a slow Metabolism person? I am sure I am that as well!

Sure!
Here are the guidelines:
-Eat a high protein food at each meal
-Increase frequency of meals
-Eat a moderate amount of unrefined carbs (no more than 40% of caloric intake)
-Avoid all sugars and refined carbs
-Avoid high purine protein (liver, kidney, heart, sardines, mackerel, and salmon)
-Reduce or avoid milk and milk products
-Reduce intake of fats and oils (no more than 20% of caloric intake)
-Reduce fruit juice intake
-Avoid calcium and/or vitamin D supplements

Foods that contribute to a reduction in metabolic rate: swiss cheese, kale, monterey cheese, mustard greens, mozzarella cheese, tortilla roll, almonds, sardines, hazelnuts, torula yeast, parmesan cheese, dulse, dandelion greens, turnip greens, blue cheese, soybean flour, yogurt, american cheese, brewers yeast, cheddar cheese, kelp, carob powder, pancake mix, cream, collards, and broccoli.

Alright so tested again this morning and it looked to me like there might be a very faint line starting to show up as opposed to yesterday's BFN. I will post a pic in a few minutes, see what everyone else thinks.

FX'd, Ashlee! :dust:

Julie, hang in there! Sounds like you are moving in the right direction with your healthy eating plan and should have something to put into action soon!

(PS, I love sushi, too!)

Hope your chart sorts out soon!

AFM: Ugh, had level 10 backache "cramps" today, even with 3 advil and a heating pad. I was hoping I'd never have to go through pain that bad with AF again, with the acupuncture. It only went on for a few hours (which is better than hours and hours like it used to be when that would happen) but still... Perhaps my Qi is all out of whack from the wrist sprain (wrist points are always involved in my treatment, and perhaps the sprain is interfering with the flow, or whatever), because I was doing great regarding cramps and whatnot till I sprained my wrists.

The wrists are doing better. I'm able to go without wearing my braces for longer periods and have less motions that cause sharp pain, and less sharp pain when that happens. Hopefully next month is better, and hopefully when I go for my latest acupuncture appoint Tues, she can get me back on track so next AF or whatever isn't so painful.
