April Mummies 2011

We have a tetchy baby here too! Ugh she is so dependent on me, only likes being carried so she can see everything (nosy like her mother!), and is into crying as soon as she's tired. If I get to the point of her being overtired, she is a wreck. So as soon as she's yawning, she's on the boob or dummy depending on being fed or not.

Have to be honest, I'm close to giving up breastfeeding. It's driving me nuts, especially when she's permanently attached whilst I have a seriously unruly child causing havoc. My house is a bloody tip and I feel overwhelmed BT everything!

I feel crap if I did give up as it's going well but I just can't be arsed anymore. I'm also a worrier about what others think - don't know why, always have been. I just feel like I'm letting people down?! How silly of me.

thanks for the encouragement ladies, he eventually had a 2 hour nap, still woke up grumpy so we went out, where he was also grumpy, but at least i had others try help :haha:. seems to have chilled out a bit now.

what is it with grumpy babies today!? fx'ed for a better day tomorrow!

jakes, totally sympathise with grumpy baby. try and ignore what might or moght not think, i reckon we'd be surprised by how many people don't notice we're feeding babies. personally i think bfing is easier, you always have food on tap and can feed baby whereever and whenever you need to. But at the end of the day its down to personal preference, you gotta do what works best for you and your family xxx

Doing some reading the 12week mark is both a growth spurt and a development leap - now not all babies stick precisely to this 12 week date so I think we're all starting to feel the impact of this one. Both are biggies too!

I'm just trying to remember to enjoy all the cuddles and to make her feel as safe and secure as possible as it must be so tough. It's hard though to keep positive through all the screaming!

We're off to waterbabies tomorrow, I'm so bloody excited I think I may actually explode :haha:

Ava is fussy, I have a horrible headache, my 3 yr old is bringing down the house and DH is at work...All i can say is today is NOT my day :(

Ah, the flipside of my nights. This sounds like my daytimes too at the moment. Eliza is a very stubborn monkey and when she knows that Mummy is feeding Gabriel... well you can imagine what a 4 year old thinks is fun

I actually thought about buying a box of formula the other day just in case but then thought that it would tempt me and make it too easy to surrender. And that is exactly how it would feel to me... but probably not to anyone else. Funnily enough my first thought when I read your post was:

"Of course you wouldn't be letting anyone down, you just do what is right for you and your family! You have done fantastic to get this far and look at your wonderful baby and how great a start you have given them!"

Then I thought... why don't I ever apply that kind of thinking to myself? So I know exactly where you are coming from.

Whatever you decide you certainly wont be judged here but if you decide that a little support is what you need and you want to carry on, we can do that too. Whatever you think you want or need, Hun :hugs:

That is SO what I needed girls. I have had a stressful day and just think it all got on top of me. Like u amethyst, I can dish out advice but don't apply it to myself.

(shit. I've just polished off a box of Guylian chocolates without realising)

I decided to stickit out and remembered ( thanks To u, Gertrude) that it could be due to the growth spurt - I also think she is highly strung and it's payback for my content Jake Asa baby, I had it lucky then!)

She is perfect at night. In fact last night was great with her going from 9pm-7am. The days are horrid!!! But it may be due to my son screaming, that keeps her from napping well. Pfffffttt.

Oh well, what I DO know is that it gets better!

Now I'm going to have an ice cold cider with piles of ice to crunch on!

I have that same problem Jakesmummy! When lo tries to take a nap during the day my other one runs around screaming and bouncing around the house..which almost always wakes her up!!

give the 3 yr old gin too, :haha:

Morning all!

LO had a bit of a split bottle last night and went to bed around 10 when she was finished. She woke up at 2.30 and then again at 6. At 6 she didn't cry, we could just hear her grunting and grizzling. We waited for her to cry but she didn't so we all fell back to sleep.

She did go 9 - 4.30 a few times, so I know she can do it. She just keeps changing how long she goes!

She didn't finish her bottle at 2.30 and left even more at 7.30. Do you think if they are less interested in their first bottle that they are ready to drop one or the other?

A few weeks ago we tried the whole put the dummy in thing and again the other week. It doesn't seem to work and we end up giving her a bottle.

Any other ideas? She's not been finishing her bottles in the day so I am going to see today if she is ready to go 3.5 hours instead of 3.

Hope you all had a good night!

ARGH! I left the parts to my pump at home! DH is running home to get them but we live 15 minutes from work so that means it'll be after 9:30 before I can pump and I usually pump at 8. I also last fed Isis at 5:30 so I'll have gone at least 4 hours. I hope this doesn't cause any problems.

Cheese - it shouldn't. Just try to get more than you normally do. Sometimes Rosie eats at 1 and other times at 6 (at night) and I just get extra full. I figure as long as it isn't every day you should be fine. Hope it works out for you!!!!

Just checking in! Still not much better on the sleeping front here but we've both had a nap this aft so feel a bit more human! I'm off out on my own again tonight. And I'm gonna have a few drinks. Woop! :happydance: Just off to the y13 students leaving do (suppose you US girlies would call it a prom but it's not as bigger deal here) as my form were im that year group before I went on mat leave. It's a nice sit down meal & can have a few glasses of wine with my work friends. DH is doing the night shift so I get to sleep too! So I'm currently pumping one last time!

I missed all the Facebook posts the other day. I'm always on my phone on the Internet so can't add a message to friend requests so you know who I am! But if anyone wants to add me it's Sarah Routledge & my profile pic is me & DH at our wedding.

Does anyone have a jumperoo? Thinking of getting one soon but don't know how old LOs can be before they go in?

have a fab night out sazzle! sooo jealous, lol!

we have a jumperoo, alex loves it! he needs a cushion on the floor though as he's not quite big enough yet but he has no probs with head control in it and loves making the music come on! :D

we had our last session at the cranial osteopath today, seemed to go well! he reckons he's got all the knots in his back out so we'll see if it makes a difference! he's def been less fussy at the boob since last weeks session  xx

Yep we have a jumperoo too, we have a small box under her feet cause she's teeny in it.
