April Mummies 2011

Hmmmm, I should be there Jakes! I know I'm set quite private with being a teacher but not so private you can't search for me! It's Sarah Routledge & think my maiden name Driscoll comes up in brackets too. I'm in the Sheffield network.

Just got in & hooked up to my pump now. Thought my boobs were gonna explode!

Maybe I've confused things by saying it's us at our wedding in profile pic. It's just our heads! I'm blonde & I've got a tiara thingy in my big up-do blonde hair!

I sent you a request Sazzle. I definitely had to also add your maiden name ;)

Well I thought Dh and I were going to have a some adult time this evening. Isis went to bed at 8 tonight. DH went to bed before 10. :dohh: I'm still awake so I haven't gone to bed yet. I'm kinda irked. I should be ok with it but for some reason I'm upset that he's in bed already.

We put Isis in her exersaucer tonight. I was inspired by all the jumparoo talk today. She was really cute and tiny in it. I'm thinking about buying the jumpers that go on the door frame because they're cheaper than the free-standing one. Plus we have the exersaucer from SIL. Any suggestions or recommendations?
I can't wait until the temperature goes down tomorrow! It was 96 today and humid! We went to the local farmer's market this afternoon and only stopped at our co-workers stand and then had to leave it was so hot.

We're doing a 2 month photo session this weekend. I'm going to get a couple dresses tomorrow for it. DH is taking the pictures. He does black and white film photography so I won't be able to post the pictures he takes.

Sazzle, I added you too.

does anyone elses little one love their mobile rather than finding it relaxing? she's in her crib atm with legs and arms twitching with excitement :D :dohh:

Ha ha, Gabe does!

That's why it's only ever turned on when it's OK for him to play and never at bedtime. OH had to be re-taught about the whole no playing at sleepy time stuff. I thought he would have remembered from Eliza, but no :dohh:

I've added everyone on fb, i couldn't add a message to some requests but my profile pic is George in his pram (stripey background) :)

abby refuses to sleep anywhere but being snuggled during the day. if she's sleeping as soon as i put her down, she's screaming. she screams until i pick her up. she's been like this for weeks, but sleeps by herself swaddled at night. do i dare swaddle her during the day too, or just enjoy the snuggles while they last? we were trying to do something different so she knew it was night time and had to sleep more than a nap.

Personally id swaddle her in the day too. Amelias a bit like this and if I put her Down without being cuddled first she wakes up screaming! Ah well they soon grow out of it and it is like trying to get blood out of a stone trying to cuddle Jake, now!

yep swaddle then too - she likes the tightness :)

mark the difference by keeping it light, keep the noise levels as normal during the day etc x

yeah...we'll try doing that again, maybe putting her in her swing during the day versus her crib.
feel bad as we should just enjoy the snuggles while she's willing to give them.

when Isis was home with me I would swaddle her for naps and bed and would put her in bed for both and she didn't seem to have much of a problem knowing the difference between day napping and night sleeping. It did help with napping. She not much of a napper. I also would let her sleep in her swing (not swaddled) because she would fall asleep in it on her own.

Sorry ladies have makor computeeer trouble, hardly get on here anymore. Hope you are all well?

I took George to a taster session of baby sensory yesterday, it was amazing and George loved it I have signed up for a term now I am so excited! Next week he has his first vaccinations so looking into swimming too.

We are pretty lucky with sleep, although he goes to bed quite late as he doesnt settle he normally only wakes at about 3 or 4 and then at 6 or 7. Occasionally he wakes at 1 as well but..................................last niight he slept from 9 til 7 then took 2 oz and has been asleep again since!

Today we are off to a photo session I am so excited to get some professional shots of him I hope he cooperates and they turn out nice.

Enjoy the sunshine today ladies

xxxxx

Gem get well soon
Caro hope alex is happier now
Jakes stick with it you are doing great (although I bottle feed and I am at last happy with the decision)

My LO is definately teething, poor thing. Strangely though, her sleep has improved with it! I think it's because she is spending so much more time awake in the day which is helping.

Friday night she went 9.30pm - 6.30am and last night she went 9.30 - 7.20, at which point I went in and she was wide awake and gave a big smile when I said good morning to her. So much nicer than going in to a baby awake and crying! She's only now dropped back off to sleep.

The key for her was a 3.5 hour feeding schedule rather than a 3 hour one. She had dropped the 10/11 feed and was still waking for the 2/3/4am feed. By keeping her up a little later and giving her a full feed at 9.30pm, she dropped the early morning one.

Only trouble is, I've got so used to waking up that I still do! I've been half awake since 5am!

Hope all are ok x

Eurgh. Zombie-fied. Rex only let me have 4 hours sleep last night. Why won't he sleep normally?! I'm so jealous of everyone with their sleeping babies :-( I'm lucky if he sleeps for 4 hours in one go. Most last night was 3 hours but that was the only stretch he did

Mrs-C do you feed on demand or do you stick to the 3.5 hour thing? What do you do if they want milk after say 2 hours?

i'm not saying one has anything to do with the other, but we swaddled her for a nap in the afternoon in her swing, she went to bed at 10 like usual....however she woke up to eat at 1am. ugh. she DID sleep until 8 but i don't like the 1am. uuuuugh. she's swaddled again for a nap however this is in the morning so hopefully that won't happen again.
guess i'm glad we're figuring this all out on a 3 day weekend versus work week.
work is going ok. it's become routine now to leave her with the sitter. still not sure i want to continue to work, we'll see how these next couple months go. i did promise a friend of mine that i would stay home and watch her baby come feb so that gives us some time to plan for it.
i'm also going to have a serious talk to the dr about abby having possible acid reflux. she spits up 3 hours after feeding yet only it's not formula, it's actual stomach acid. this is every day, every feeding has to be uncomfy. she arches her back while feeding, hiccups at least 4 times a day and i'm sure i'm leaving some out. we decided to start her on wic approved formula for babies with GED in hope that the dr will write the prescription so we can get it covered. the couple bottles she's had, she's spit up but not nearly what she did before and spitting up stomach acid has stopped.

I hope the doctors look into the acid reflux Dana...That cant be pleasant for Abby at all! :)

AFM....I will be 12 pp tomorrow and still no AF..no cramps, no nothing!! Im not complaining really, im just worried lol I cant start my BC until AF shows up (thats what my DR office told me) So im wondering if i should call them and see about starting a pill to get it to start?? Any ideas?? BTW im not BF and my doc said i "should" start by 12 weeks.

i have no idea, i finally had mine at 9 wks pp. my dr's office didn't say to wait til after my AF tho thats what i did anyway. i do know the plan B pill forces your period, tho i'm not sure if that's healthy to use pp.
