Well saw the mw today and everything is fine. Heart rate etc all normal and she is happy with babies position. Head right down. Im booked in for a sweep next weds if bump doesnt come before then so fingers crossed!! xx

Saw midwife and she is happy with baby's size, position etc

I gave her all the info from the consultants appointment and she's not 100% happy with what he's said - She feels that we should NOT be induced and that IF we go over (she doesn't think we will) that we should push for a C-Sec instead.

I mentioned to her that the consultant said baby was 4/5 engaged and she said that was good and said to me that we were about the same still, but in my notes she has put 1/5 engaged - So not too sure if that's what she meant to write or not...

She's booked me in to see her again at 38+2, but hopes that she won't see us until she does our home visit

All-in-all everything sounds promising

Why would you need an amnio to check at 38 weeks, it's classed as full term? Just cusious, seems strange.FX you gt the news you wanted at app today.!

Because unless there is a secondary "medical" reason to induce hospital policy is no "elective" inductions until 39 weeks unless there is documented proof that the fetal lungs are mature. The large baby is not considered a MEDICAL reason to induce. Also I had a medical reason last pregnancy and induced at 37 weeks and baby was NOT ready and spent 2 weeks in the nicu on oxygen and I don't want to go through that, so if I was to induce early before 39'ish week I'd still be a bit worried without an amnio.

I wrote a big ish reply to this yesterday thanking you cos i wasn't aware of this and would hope I got my induction at 38 weeks but if not it wasn't alien to me and I'mglad you did cos after consultant today he sad the same thing, not about the amnio but about at 38 weeks the lungs not being mature, I just thought this is so odd seeing as they class a baby as full term by 37 weeks? This one on the scan to day is expected to be abt 9lb at 39 weeks, it was estimated at 7lb today and all measurments suddnely shot up to the 95 percentile, anyway he said the same thing doesn't matter about the size etc. Obviously the reason I'm having an induction is because of my spd pain and not being able to function at all at home, but cos of whats best for baby I'm gonna have to suffer for an extra week, lol even though consultant said last appointment 38+ somerthing would be fine he changed his mind this time. So My induction date is 39+1 (so the 22/04/10) I guess it's better than no induction at all.

Congratulations mummyof 4? girls now is it. As well as Lorna. wow these April bubs certainly exiting fast!

Gosh what a busy couple of days!

Sorry if I am repeating myself (I lose track of what I have said and where!) but my SPD has got noticeably worse again, I can now feel my pelvis rubbing together. Even sitting now is painful so I really hope I am favourable for induction around the 12th! We are moving next week into a ground floor flat!

man where did march go? I'm super excited that tomorrow is officially april! Had my 37 week doc appt today and guess who's 2cm dilated and 70% effaced?? ME!!! That's from nothing last week, but Bean is still butt down breech so if in two weeks he hasn't turned we're going to book in for a c-section...which is fine with me I don't care how he comes out just that he gets here!
