***April Sweet Peas*** 204 Babies

My show just kept coming and coming all night! also had cramps so got myself a hot water bottle! Woke up this morning - NOTHING!!! It has all stopped! Baby still moving about nicely so not worrying!

Hubbie is getting annoyed now as he was hoping not to go to work this morning! ITS NOT MY FAULT!!!!

That sounds exactly like my husband! I had contractions on Friday night and even though they had stopped on saturday morning he took the day off telling his manager I was in labour! Cheeky git. Now every night he talks to Baby H saying "Come out, stop teasing mummy and let daddy have two weeks off work!". He really does seem to think that two weeks with a newborn will be easier than working!

It really must be a man-thing in that case... My Hubby asked me this morning what appointments etc I have this week re: baby, so I told him I have a 39+2 appointment with midwife on Wednesday and then if we're still pregnant I have C-Sec pre-op on Monday 26 (our due date) and C-Sec Wednesday 28... His reply: "OK, I'll tell Paul it's my last week this week. I'll finish the kitchen we're working on (probably only 3 days work) and then that's it until baby is here and we know if you need me home for 6 weeks after C-Sec"... I'm thankful that he wants to be at home, but amazed at how eager he is to stay at home. He was home quite a bit with Harry, as he was born 10 days before Xmas and hubby doesn't work much over Xmas, so will be good for him to be home this time too... I do worry that some of these men aren't waiting for baby to arrive, but waiting for time off work - LOL :)

I'm convinced it's more of a case of DH wanting the time off! He has ideas of going for a few rounds of golf or down the beach if the weather stays like his.

I saw my mw earlier for a potential sweep and bp check as it's been high.. It's still very high but not >/100 yet (although it was in one arm but not in the other thankfully!) so then moved on to possibility of a sweep. I had a student mw today as well, she was palpating me and looking more and more worried and doubtful so said what she thought she'd felt and asked my mw to check.. Well not only has she turned round to breech she's also lying diagonally across me.. Have urgent scan being arranged and then section if she's still breech oblique for possibly as early as thurs..

In the meanwhile I hope I DONT go into labour and definitely that my waters don't break - it's pretty much the worst position apart from being completely sideways as there's nothing in rhe pelvis at all to stop a cord prolapsingand we live a good 30 min from the hospital plus delivering jocelyn somewhere too..

It's so rare to have a baby in this position now, less than 1:300 babies are a true oblique at term, why is mine one of them and breech with it to boot so less of a chance of turning back? I know she got herself into this position so she might well turn back round but

Sorry to hear your news Sunflowers... Will keep everything crossed that little one decides to wriggle out of her current possition and that all goes well for you xx

Hi all,

Baby Harrison arrived on the 1st April - 14 days early by elective caesarean due to placenta praevia.

He was born at 9.44am and weighed 7lb 4oz!!

Congrats mummytoosh and laurenviolet and noahs mummy!

Sunflowers did she give you any positions to sit in to try and move the baby? I think there maybe some? I might be making that up tho! Hope baby does move as you dont really need the stress and panic if waters do break!

Me, im feeling all emotional and when hubby came home i just cried and cried! Think im ok now! Come on baby! Out!

Congratulations Mummytoosh and Laurenviolet! Mummytoosh, how was it finding out the gender at birth? I'm team yellow too and excited about it. It's the best surprise I've ever waited for.

Sunflowers, that news sucks major butt. So sorry to hear it, as you say, it's pretty rare for babies to turn about in such a position so late on in the pregnancy. Mine was breech for a good while so I can relate to that feeling, and I was convinced mine would stay breech and would be one of the few. The important thing, though, is getting baby out safely so I hope for you that baby will turn about pretty quickly again or will hold out until your cesarian. I never realized there was such an issue with prolapsing cords and whatnot until I was reading on this forum about them. I can understand your concerns about that. Keep us updated!

I can't believe all these babies being born!!! YAY! I am so bloody uncomfortable I can't stand it! I walked for 2 miles yesterday then spent ALL night on my ball and now she is so low I can barely walk....feels like her head is hanging out:( And the pressure on my pelvis is freaking intense! hopefully we all have healthy little babies very very soon!!!!

Congrats Noah'smummy!

Kimmy - I hope so, until a 36 weeks she was still turning round anything up to 3 times a day but she'd stayed head down for so long I thought she was ready to go.. Fingers crossed if she turns she stays put!

Mini - I guess a lot of the positions would be out because of my pelvis but I'm going to see a friend of mine in a second to ask her about Bowen to try and turn her..

Minster - yeah, cord prolapse is one of the 5 obstetric emergencies we have regular update training sessions for, it's qute a biggy! Hopefully she'll turn back again if she's turned this "easily" this late then she can get herself back again!
