Assisted Conception Ladies Due in Summer 2012?

Welcome Rosa and Pinkfee!!! Keep us updated on all the scans you have coming up :)

Chocolate - Congrats on "graduating" to the main maternity unit! How exciting :)

Hi Rosa! Glad you found us here :)
Welcome Pinkfee, good luck with the scan tomorrow!

Hello ladies! can I join here? I am due Sep 7 which is still summer but since I am carrying twins I am thinking I will be due more in mid August!

I am 6+5 today and had my first scan! saw two little beanies with strong heartbeats! :cloud9::cloud9:

Hey thanks ladies for the welcome.

chocolatecat & kissyfacelala- glad both your scans went well

i'll let you know how i get on

Hey

well i suppose you could say there was good and bad news, good being i saw a heartbeat and the not so great news was that the scan lady was concerned that the heartbeat wasn't as strong and the baby not as big as she would have liked and she says there could be a greater risk of miscarriage over the next week

but i've basically decided to ignore it and keep a PMA about the situation but if any of you ladies are partial to a bit of praying I could do with some of those coming my way as i'm crossing everything that this little one keeps growing.

Got another scan next week, so all i can do it wait

Pink,
My baby has measured two days behind the due date at the early scans. At 6w1d, the babies heartbeat was 110. At 7w1d my babies heartbeat was 137... three days later, I went to the ER for minor bleeding and the heartbeat was 162. Your baby may be taking its sweet time growing. If the baby is measuring small then it just needs time to grow bigger and get a bigger heartbeat going.

Keep your hopes up, take it easy, and remember everyday your baby is growing stronger.

I am a few hours away from the anatomy scan. Had to take bendryl last night in order to sleep. now I have to wait until 2pm. But on the bright side, according to my due date, I am 20 weeks today! Halfway done! I am hoping the baby has caught up a day or two. He looked big on the ultrasound last week but I haven't been measured since I was 7 weeks. I just want to hear baby is growing and healthy and everything looks normal. Hopefully I get a nice ultrasound tech who prints out lots of pictures!
Hope everyone has a great day!

Thanks Wantanerd - i'm feeling okay, i still think its early days and like you say could be a bit of a slow starter! There was a heartbeat after all which is what I had been hoping to see.

Hope your scan goes well and you get lots of pics!

Congrats on twins kissyfacelala

Pinkfee, our babies are measuring a few days smaller than my ivf dates, I think you're right to keep up the pma, I'll keep everything crossed for you :hugs:

Wantanerd, hope everything is perfect with your anomaly scan today

Afm i had a few days of pretty bad cramping, hoping that it's just the babies growing, but very scary. Feel like I'm starting to get a prope bump now and am struggling to hide it :haha:

Xxx

Hi ladies...I have two bachelorette parties coming up when I will be around 20-25 weeks and I need to get a bathing suit. Any ideas on where to find a cute maternity suit? I was thinking of just buying a regular one (in a bigger size) but didn't know if they made cute ones for us preggo women.

pinkfee - I agree with the rest of the girls, don't let that tech get you down...keep up your PMA and I bet your baby is just fine in there! He or she just needs a few weeks to catch up :) Plus a heartbeat is a GREAT sign! My embie was measuring a week ahead of schedule and many women on here were behind schedule so every baby is different.

Scan went great! He's definitely a boy and is weighing 12 ounces right now. He was pretty cooperative until the very end when the tech was trying to look at his full spine. She said everything looked good but I will need to come back to get the full spine picture for the doctors as it is one they would like to have.
The pic of his profile is adorable because in the top right, his foot is in the picture!

Glad your scan went well, it's a great picture of him

Sunshine they do maternity swimwear, I'd be more inclined to do that rather than a bigger size that might sag in other places. I'm in uk so can't help where to buy from

Thanks ladies, i'm feeling much better today.

Wantanerd - great pic! i love the foot! :)

Welcome and congrats rosa, pinkfee and kissyfacelala! I guess its to be expected in an AC thread, but I love that there so many other twin moms here!

Annie, I'm glad that your scan went so well.

Sunshine, your b-day party sounds like it was so much fun. As for bathing suits, I can't say I've seen many cute maternity suits. I would probably go the route of getting a regular one in a bigger size.

Wantanerd, fantastic scan news!! I'm so glad your little boy is doing well.

AFM, my shower was a lot of fun. We got a ton of gift cards, so I am going shopping this weekend for my girls. We also got a lot of cute little clothes for them. I am starting to get into full preparation mode. I have the schedule of prenatal classes, so I am going to sign up to take some of those in March-early April, and I have started pediatrician research. On one hand I wish I had more time to get ready, but on the other I wish the babies were going to be here tomorrow! I had an ob appt on tuesday, and everything looks good. They checked the babies really quick, and we caught Baby A sleeping this time. Baby A normally has a higher heart rate than her sister and is kicking away, but this time she was curled up asleep and her heart rate was 130 (she's normally around 145 when she's moving around). It made me want to wake her up! I had done the 1 hr glucose test 2 weeks ago, and I passed, so I will do it again at 28 weeks and hopefully that is it. I have an appt with the high risk doctor on Wednesday, and they will do measurements, etc. At my last visit with them 2 weeks ago the babies were 9 oz and 8 oz, so we should be getting close to a pound each by Wednesday. It's amazing to see how quickly they grow!

That sounds like so much fun, Michelle!! I can hardly wait to get past the first tri, start feeling more normal and get to start researching/shopping! All the baby stuff is sooooo cute!

That brings up a good question.... What kind of doctor are those of you pregnant with twins seeing? A regular OB/GYN, a maternal-fetal medicine specialist, or both? or....? I keep meaning to call my OB/GYN to set up a consultation just to see how experienced he is with twins, what he recommends etc. And if he says it's "just the same" as being pregnant with one, I'll take my uterus elsewhere!

Thanks for the welcome, ladies! I'm 7 weeks today! :happydance: I have another scan on Monday and I can't wait! I love scans...they make me feel confident that my little blueberry (as of today!) is doing well. I have a friend (pregnant with her 2nd) that got lucky 1st month both times who actually said her appointments are annoying, and that it's a hassle to go. I'm like are you freaking kidding me?! I know girls on BnB (including me) who count the minutes until their next scan! :nope:

wantanerd, great picture! Congrats on the boy!

I know, me too. I can't WAIT to be in the 2nd tri when everyone around me knows I'm pregnant, I don't have to hide my belly (which is already big, but probably because I'm eating more ) and I can buy cute stuff! We'll get there. One of my BnB friends was like 7 weeks already?! Time is flying! I'm like no it's not! It's CRAWLING!

Welcome kisseyface kayla! congrats on the twins, so exciting! Nice to have another twin mom to chat with :)
Michelle, sounds like you had a great shower! Enjoy the shopping this weekend :)
Glad your scan went well wantanerd!
sunshine- sorry can't help you with the maternity swimwear, you could just thorw on your bikini and bear the belly if you are brave enough? I would not be but some ladies are?
Squirrel-Not sure if it is the same in the states as it is in canada, but here you have to have an obstetrician in the delivery room when you are having twins in case you need an emergency c section. So I see a GP that specializes in maternity and then at 20 weeks I start seeing the obstetrician also. So double the Dr appts for double the babies! I found it hard to find a good Dr after seeing such a great FS, but I am really happy so far with the Dr I have.

Squirrel and Rosa, 2nd tri has definitely been a lot more fun! Time will start to move faster though. Things have moved noticeably faster for me since about weeks 10-12. I wasn't able hide my belly anymore by around week 15 or so, but I had switched to maternity pants by 12 weeks. At this point there is no mistaking it!

Squirrel, lol at taking your uterus elsewhere! I am seeing an OB and an MFM. I went to the MFM for the 1st time for my NT scan, and since then I have gone every 3 weeks. I had been seeing my OB every 3 weeks also, but now that I am over 20 weeks I will go every 2 weeks to see them. Its a lot of doctor's appts but i love getting to see the twins so often. I also like the reassurance of having so many check ups to make sure everything is going well. My OBs practice is pretty large and what sold me on them was the hospital they are associated with. The hospital is 5 minutes from my house and has a highly rated NICU. There will be no highway emergencies for me!!

Hey ladies...sounds like everyone is doing good! I am going to be 14 weeks tomorrow (YAYA!!) and still not feeling great. I haven't been that sick the whole pregnancy but the last week or so I have been really nauseous and had some vomiting days and still have major food adversions. It should be getting better! Not worse! haha

Also, I got my doppler in the mail!!! I have been using it everyday :) It is SO amazing to hear baby's heartbeat. The first time I found it within literally 5 seconds...since then it has taken me a few minutes each time to find it (glad I found it so quick the first time or else I probably would have been worried). I got it for $50 and already feel like it was worth every penny!

One more day and I am in FL! I can't wait!!!!!!! Slightly nervous about flying. Its going to be snowing/raining as I leave Co so I am trying to prepare myself for a bumpy plane ride. I doubt I will sleep well tonight so I am hoping two benedryl an hour before my flight will help me to sleep on the plane. But then I will be with my mom in FL! Shower is in three weeks and I can't wait to spend time in the sun with my friends and family.

Sunshine, welcome to the second trimester! Time will start flying by for you!
