mummyof3co: you guys have the coolest food products that we don't get over here...i worked in New York for a few months once and i got addicted to so many things like peanut butter m&ms, nutterbutters, apple cheerios, pumkin pie ben and jerries and that bright yellow processed cheese sauce stuff that goes on natchos! its all super unhealthy but i love it! wish we had that stuff here :p

kirsten: really small world! i'll ask OH where abts most of his family live coz i dont know it that well...been a few times but i have a terrible sense or direction so dunno where anything is! we're going up there in a few weeks for a wedding

Here it's sold right next to regular marshmallows. I wonder if you melted marshmallows down it would be the same....its what it looks like. Hmmm maybe I can look around and see if you can somehow make it.

Ooo Velveeta! That's the cheese and it's delicious haha. Apple cheerios YUM!! Mark just bought peanut butter m&ms for the first time last night actually haha...along with some mint ones. And Hershey's kisses filled with Cherry cordial stuff...they only have them at Christmas time and they are the BEST!

Hahaha

So the plumber came out today to fix the toilet...one he fixed, found nothing but it's working so our landlord covered that. Then in the other he found a freaking lego....thanks Hayden!!!! Really we appreciate that :) So yeah we had to pay for that...wonderful. Can anything else come up? Last year at the beginning of Nov Mark lost his job because some stupid girl. So last year was really tough, with Christmas, it took him a long time to find a job. Well he's working now and making good money so yay! But then a couple weeks ago our car broke down! Cost us $1500 last week to fix and now this...granted not as much but really anything else gonna happen before Christmas? I hope this is it. Atleast they are fixed now though :D

glad they're fixed now...lol @ the lego tho! aren't kids great!? hope it didn't cost too much 4 that one x

Hello peeps!

i had a really nice comment off a friend yesterday...little bit of back ground: i've often talked to her abt my theories on parenting and AP etc (she's my debating buddy!). She has a brother who has a LO a similar age to Kian and he does things really differently to me. Anyway the other day my friend said...i'm starting to see ur point with all this stuff. Kian always seems to b happier, more relaxed, and more advanced than *bros LO*...apparently u can really see the difference in them. now i try really hard not to get into any kind of parenting competition/ race and i never judge her bro for his choiced. I do the things i do to 'look good' i do them because i believe they're better for Kian but i do feel very proud . I often feel like i get negative feed back for my choices (people often do the whole rolling eyes thing or going on abt 'making a rod for my back' abt most stuff i do) and other mums i know rearly agreee with me. AND it usually seems like they have lots of 'evidence' for y their way 'works' and i feel like i have nothing to back my theories up IYKWIM so its nice to get some positive feedback and for someone to recognise something good coming from my parenting efforts!

does anyone know what i mean or am i just being silly?

I know what you mean. If anyone is observant then they can start seeing differences. It's one of the reasons I don't do CIO. I have a gf that didn't do CIO and her little boy (who is now almost 6) is the easiest little man to put to bed. It's bed time, he goes to bed. No whinning or fussing. Bed is a good safe place.

How many 5 years olds are that easy to put to bed? That's all I have to say about that. :)

E is also extreamly social. He has yet to play strange and I think that is from wearing him out in public. He can be eye to eye (approx) with the 'big people' and be safe with me so it's ok to be engaging. I have no proof that's why he's like that, but people are always commenting on how friendly he is.

yeah Kians very friendly...he's totally comfortable with new people and he's always really happy to have people make a fuss of him (we seem to get alot of random people stop and chat to him!- i joke that hes just recruited 'another member for the fan club'! and he just grins away and coos at them)
people often comment that Kians a 'happy baby'.

I know what you mean, it's always nice to hear from an outside "source" that you're doing a good job :)

Landon we didn't do CIO but we also didn't cosleep or put him to sleep, he put himself to sleep from the beginning, he had to be alone in the dark to go to sleep. He's 6 now and very easy to put to bed too...as is Casen who we coslept with so I think alot of it is routine too when they become toddlers and up. But I can def see the good things we are doing for/with the boys by doing AP

hows everyone doing?

Hey, we're OK. Think Theakston's got a bit of a cold, he's been acting how he does during teething/growth spurt - food/sleep/upset/clingy and he's all rattly and coughing and then today he keeps getting a blocked nose. He couldn't breathe very well earlier so I wafted some lavender under his nose and that seemed to help. Think it's just a case of lots of TLC as he doesn't have a fever :)

How about you?

Kians been really bad with his teeth lately...wednesday was a nightmare. He was screamyscreamerson all day long and i had the worse PMT ever!!

Hes also been really pukey lately so hoping thats just caused by teething and not a tummy or anything? does anyone elses LO puke when teething? i just posted a thread in baby club asking abt it.

i put my xmas tree up the other day :) tis a little live potted one and i think it looks v cute...its abt 2ft. fingers crossed i don't 4get to water it while its in the pot so we can plant it after xmas and use it again next year.

btw that food shop is cool...u don't happen to know a uk site (or an american site that ships to the uk) that sells that bright yellow totoally processed natcho cheese sauce? (u can get it in the cimema) OH is addicted to it and i really wanna get him some :p

Hey, I only just found this group, can I join :flower:

No Henny, you can't.

He he, you can really! I'm so funny. Lol.

We have a Christmas tree in a pot that we use every year, it's done pretty well this year, grown a bit and looks nice and green. We don't tend to put it up until almost Christmas though as I don't want all it's little pine needles to fall off, would look awful bald!

Lol. I'm looking forward to doing it though, I don't feel very Christmassy yet.

I'm feeling very very Christmassy this year! I used to really not like Christmas, but I'm excited - going to do the tree today :)

I don't really feel Christmassy right up until the last minute usually, then on Christmas Day I am really excited and all the people who have been excited all month aren't as much. Lol!

I am far too scared about the fact I have done almost no shopping and have all my family to buy for still. That and we are totally broke! There are only so many people who can tolerate homemade fudge and bath salts, lol. Oh well.

If anyone has any ideas for different stuff I can make please tell me!
