Baking soda gender test?

How much fizzle is considered "fizzle"? Yes, I just peed on baking soda My DH thinks I'm insane. He has a biology degree and said, "honey, you know that's just testing YOUR ph right?" SHHHH I said... this is fun. I haven't peed on stuff in months!!!

So mine had a few giant bubbles float to the surface, then from the side it looked kind of like beer, but it never covered the top in bubbles or made heavy fizz. Hmmm... perhaps I should try it again??

I had a couple bubbles but not anything that foamed or looked promising as fizzy. I was thinking that I need to try again? There is a claim that pregnant women with lower ph has tendencies to have girls whereas higher ph means boy.
I thought I would give it a try.

Ok, so I asked my Hubster to be more specific about explaining this test to me, since my degree is in English, not science (and certainly not pee science)

He says the basis is that Male sperm is less hearty, and tends to die more quickly in acidic environments. Female spermies are stronger, but slower, and can survive longer in acidic PH. I guess it makes sense then, that if we have ph closer to that of the swimmers, it would sway boy... and if we have higher ph it would favor girl. The tough thing is, your ph can change, so what it says now might not be how it was at conception! Diet has a lot to do with it. I'm still holding out hope that I had one strong male swimmer that liked my non-fizzing environment It's not 100%, but interesting stuff!!

hmm ok just done another and it says girl! so no idea, dont really mind, I already have a girl but would be very happy with another, equally I would love a boy so whichever is fine by me as long as its healthy

ok, so i tried the baking soda and it didnt really fizz....the tiny fizz went away and all i saw was pee.. hmm?

Ring swing,chinese have both pointed to girl so this is first thats said boy. Im going to try the red cabbage test next. Funny what we will pee on in the name of fun lol

I've never heard of the red cabbage test. Yes, no fizz=girl and if there is fizz, then it is boy. (This is all fun so please don't take it seriously!) I just wanted to see if anyone has done it and what were their outcomes.

Im doing the red cabbage today... you take some red cabbage, chop it up and steam it in a pan for about 10 minutes. Strain it and keep the water. Add some to your urine and if it goes a pinky colour then its a boy, purple its boy I think.

So my friend told me I should use only FRESH Baking Soda? I used an old box that was in the fridge...hahaha. I will go buy a new box and try it out and see if there's any difference!

I did that too and there wasn't any difference. I only use the baking soda for cat boxes and it gets used in about 3 weeks. I bought a new box yesterday and the same thing happened. Not really any bubbles, maybe 4 from the urine settling in the powder and that's all.
