Beach Bump Graduates!

I forgot to ask- Birthdays- what is everyone getting? We got rid of Hollys old kitchen (she had a big little tikes one) but I'm thinking Naomi would like one now- I've been looking at the little tikes premium wooden one and the side by side one in toys r us- thoughts? The price is attracting me to the side by side one (and the size!) but the wooden one looks so good, I can't make my mind up. Other than that I'm kind of stuck for ideas?

Maria, we have the side by side one, its lovely, we got it half price, is it half price at the mo? We are getting H a playhouse, have decided on a Chad Valley one in Argos.
Il catch up with everyone in a bit, its that manic time of day! x

I think it's around the £60 mark in ToysRus, does that sound about right?

We have the premier little tikes wooden one and Annabelle loves it. I went for that as its in our living room so wanted it to look nicer than a plastic one. It's really nice and we get a lot of comments on how nice it is!

Oh but it's a lot more expensive - we got it for £125 I think as it was on offer before xmas

Phew children in bed at last!

Hann, Im sure you will do fine without Greg, for me its just a case of being organised at times like dinner and bathtime, I mealplan now so i dont have to think too much about what im cooking and when im getting everyone dressed in the morning i make sure all the pajamas etc are all out ready for bathtime, cant say it isnt exausting though because it is!
Yes Alan off now till mon thank goodness!

Simmy, yay to baby washing, i love that bit! You are really close now! As for names, dont panic about it, I like Sophia though, any other ideas?

Maria, yes thats what we paid for it. As for the running, im not sure how well im doing lol but im trying! Very excited about the course yes, i cant wait to start!

So we have had a fairly productive day, i had my chiro appointment this morning then this afternoon we opened a savings account for Lucas and had an appointment at the registry office to get Harrison re registered. Its because we got married since he was born and we wanted my married name on his birth certificate. Also had to get a present for my stepdads birthday and my friends little girl. Managed to get out for a run before tea and managed a bath after the boys so all good. im all chilled out now and looking forward to a lovely sleep as Alan is in with Lucas. Luxuary!
Over my parents for lunch tomorrow and Harrison is staying with them overnight before we meet up with them on Fri for my stepdads birthday. Oh and im also gonna bake him a cake tomorrow. Its all go here! x

Wow Mel you are doing great! Nice to hear that life can get back to some normality with two children. I'm going to start joining you on my fitness pal soon. I can't obviously exercise yet but I'm going to start a healthy eating plan soon. I've lost 15 pounds so have another 7/8 pounds to go. They are all on my tummy though but high up around my belly button if that makes sense? I can easily get my old jeans on and have since day 5. I imagine the last pounds are harder to shift though....

Wow Han, I still have 7-8 lbs to lose from Ajay since going back to work and eating cakes!!!!! Amazing!

Mel - you are soooo productive!

Lol sorry!! I had a big baby which helped with the weight loss ;)

Just put Henry to bed only for him to do a huge poo then throw up the feed all over himself, me and our bed, happy days lol

Lol Hann the big baby didn't help me much last time haha, it's incredible you're in your old jeans already!

Mel sounds like you're doing fantastically and very organised!

Maria we also have the side by side kitchen - also half price at Argos (think its always half price!). I really liked the wooden one but couldn't justify the spend. We're v happy with the side by side one, I think it'll have lots of years of play in it.

Caz re feeding, Leo has also regressed - he feeds himself about 2 spoonfuls now and gets bored, and he's stopped eating lunch at nursery too (where they usually feed themselves) - at home the only way I can get him to eat isto put peppa pig on and spoon feed him - it's bad but I'd rather do that than him not eat at all

As for other names, our other contender was Isla which Paul doesn't like any more :dohh: Other potentials include Kara, Livia, Myla but Paul's not sure about any of those. Argghh it's so hard!! My guess is we'll end up back with sophia!

Awwww I forgot about Ajay and Leo being twins! Snap with putting the tv on - I do that too!

SB, Wow 2nd tri already! its flying by! Good luck for your appointment on thurs. Lol think Katies gonna have a shock when number 2 comes along!

I think so too! She's such a little princess who gets all of our attention, and she's be at an odd age - old enough to remember what it was like before baby, but too young to really understand. I'm sure there will be a lot of adjustment! I'm trying to wean her right now. I'm afraid if I let her continue and stop her when the new baby comes, she'll resent the new baby for it. She's such a sweet little girl and shares with all of her playmates at church, so I'm hoping she'll get the hang of her big sister role quickly.

Hi girls,
Just a quick question - I posted in toddler group too - do you still feed your little ones? Ajay went through a long phase of feeding himself but now he doesn't and won't eat (just says finished) unless I feed him..... should I just dick my heels in and make him eat himself or is it ok to still be feeding him?
xx

Katie hates to be fed, she only wants to feed herself. However, I do feed her when it's something really messy like soup, yogurt, etc. Or bananas - she likes to take bites off of a whole banana, but if she does it herself, she'll shove so much in that she chokes. But everything else she feeds herself, usually until it's not fun anymore. Then I quick shovel in the last bites until she seems full.

I hope your appointment goes well tomorrow SB! I'm so excited for you, it's flying by! Your pics on FB are fab as ever- I particularly love your ones of Katie and the ones of all the lovely things you bake! So yummy!

Thank you! I'm so nervous about tomorrow, as this was when everything happened last time, but I'm remaining positive. I do know that if they can't find a heartbeat while there, I will be demanding an ultrasound! Last time they didn't hear a heartbeat they said it was fine and sent me home with an appointment for a month later, even though we'd never heard the heartbeat before. This time, I'm making sure everything is okay before being dismissed!

I'm quite obsessed with taking pictures of Katie! I was looking at last years pictures...is anyone else in shock with how much they've grown in the last year? So many changes between 1 and 2 years old, it's amazing!

Hi

SB - Annabelle pokes Henry in the face all the time to show she knows various body parts. We never leave her alone with him and we tell her she can't touch his eyes.

We've taught her how to not poke the doggies in the eyes, hopefully she'll catch on with the baby, but basically everything from people to stuffed animals get eye pokes, along with nose, mouth, ears, head, and everythign else. lol. Maybe she'll grow out of it in 6 months? :haha:

I forgot to ask- Birthdays- what is everyone getting? We got rid of Hollys old kitchen (she had a big little tikes one) but I'm thinking Naomi would like one now- I've been looking at the little tikes premium wooden one and the side by side one in toys r us- thoughts? The price is attracting me to the side by side one (and the size!) but the wooden one looks so good, I can't make my mind up. Other than that I'm kind of stuck for ideas?

So far I only know one gift. I bought her a little cozy coup car, which I'm painting to look like Minnie Mouse, complete with little wooden painted ears and bow on top. I'm really excited about it, as she's obsessed with Minnie and Mickey. I think she'll love riding in it!

After that it gets tricky. I was shopping without her the other day in the toy aisle, and I just knew she'd love everything. With my hormones, I actually wanted to buy the whole pink aisle! So I'm holding off on toys until I can be more logical.

I also almost bought her a guinea pig last week. She loves to watch them eat and run around at the petstore and my hormones told me she'd love this. But thankfully I was reminded that I don't need another thing to take care of and feed right now when I'm going through so much morning sickness. Really don't want to get her a pet until she's 3-4 but I'm always tempted...as if two dogs aren't enough!

Good luck today SB, will be thinking of you!

Maria I forgot to reply to the other part of your question - birthdays this year, well we already got Leo the playhouse from asda, the little tikes one, he really loves it but he's only had about 1 day where it hasn't been raining so he can play in it! I will say that i think the playhouses are better when they have a friend to play with them rather than on their own.

As for other stuff, we're thinking of a smart trike (but i think most of you already got one last year), or a car garage (girls can like these too!), and he also has a little trampoline that he got for his bday last year which we haven't even taken out of the box yet.

We are thinking a car garage too or a cozy coupe maybe. Not really too sure yet!!

I love Livia as a name, very unusual!

Well Greg is back at work today and its been fine so far! Had a few initial hiccups in that he projectile vomited all over me in bed this morning then when I put him down to change him Annabelle stood on his head but apart from that they have both been great. We managed Annabelles football class at 9.30 and we had a play date then home and sorted Annabelles lunch, fed Henry then put him in the sling while I read to Annabelle, changed her and have her a bottle and bed, then I slept with him in the sling on me for just under an hour, and now just fed him again and waiting for Annabelle to wake.
Mil arrives at 4-15 so not looking forward to that. She's here to help but I imagine it will be a hindrance more than anything!!

The little tikes coupe cars are great, Naomi has Holly's old one (it's still like new) and she loves it. We have a garage already that she likes and a mat and all the cars etc.
I was thinking about some play doh, a latch board, play food and utensils etc to go with her kitchen, an aquadraw, some dress up shoes, some new wellies (she's so into shoes, I guess because she can only really wear her boots), some books and maybe a new doll and pram? I've really struggled with ideas though as everything Holly has outgrown has been well looked after and is now being used by Naomi- which is great but it means I'm stuck for ideas now lol!

Thank you for all of your input on the kitchens, they both look really good, I'm leaning towards the wooden one as I think Holly will like playing with Naomi and that one looks bigger although I still haven't decided really!

I hope MIL isn't too much of a pain Hann! -You never know- she may surprise you and actually help.......... yeah right! ;)

Just got back from the appointment - everything is looking on track and we got to hear baby's heartbeat, which was in the 160's. I turned 12 weeks today, so just one more week until second tri! I'm so excited!

Yay SB that's fab news!! So glad it's all going smoothly this time :)

Mil is officially here, not even been here an hour and I'm hating it. She's not even done anything that annoying yet beyond the usual not listening to me. Our conversations go something like this:
Her 'did Annabelle enjoy ballet yesterday?'
Me 'it wasn't on it was half term so it doesn't run'
10 minutes later
Her 'Waterloo was really busy, full of children, I don't know if its half term here, it is at home but maybe that's why it's so busy'
Me 'it is half term which is why there was no ballet yesterday'
Grrrr seriously why can't she listen?! She came in and asked how the day was without Greg so I told her, then literally 5 minutes later she asked how the day went without Greg as she clearly hasn't bothered listening the first time! Problem is that I have no patience with her anymore! Also sounds terrible but I don't want her to hold Henry as she's such a baby hog, once she gets him she won't give him back. Really wish she wasn't here and I have her here until Sunday :(

Oh SB that's fab news!!! :happydance:

I hope the next few days go quickly for you Hann. You MIL does sound very annoying, it seems to be in the job description with in-laws. How annoying that she keeps hogging Henry too!

Gerrrrrrr to MIL's Han - hope you make it through the next few days, you are doing soooo well with going to Annabelle's classes and having a new born - amazing!

SB - SO pleased for you! Congrats. xxx

Mad busy here - Ajay had a temperature yesterday so took him to the dr and he just has a really bad cold but he hasn't been well at all. So I worked from home today and spent as much time with him as I could so mega behind on work too. Neel is super stressed with the house stuff and the builder is saying we're £7k over budget :( Not good so a bit stressy at home here but at least it;s the weekend.

Neel's parents are away this weekend for two nights so we are on our own which will be good and I hope we can take it easy. MIL is still fine, we're doing ok thank goodness! x
