blood on hpt = positive? Hmmm

This may be an odd question but figured this thread would be the best place to ask- How do you do the blood on hpt? Is it that you dilate some blood in water then put the stick in it, or the blood goes directly onto the stick? Thanks :)

Hi All :flower:

Just thought i would share this with you. My BOAS from today .... i am on CD 37 and 14 DPO but we DTD 6 days before ovulation so i knew the chances were virtually impossible.

I took a FRER POAS this morning and negative ... i started spotting and got a faint BFP on a POAS ... i thought the spotting may have caused the BFP so i pretty much stuck the stick where the sun doesn't shine and got this (BFP)

I think its pretty concrete evidence that BOAS is fun ... but not accurate

Try not to get too excited if you get a BFP on a BOAS ... ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS follow up with POAS :flower: xxxxxx

Hi :flower:

I guess it depends on how much blood you have and how you 'get it'
If i pick something i put the sides of the stick straight into the blood and dip the very tip in water to move it up the stick ... but if my DS headbutts me and causes a bloody lip or nose then i pretty much use neat blood and clear it with water once its dry.

I did the same as littlebug for the first boas, got the sides covered and dipped the tip in water. The second, haha I sliced my little toe wide open on the corner of the bed whilst changing the sheets, instead of grabbing something to stem the bleeding I grabbed a test and let it soak it all up until it crossed the control line. Hubby had heard my cries of pain I guess and I was cleaning off the cut whilst the test was drying, hence how my test ended up in a full sink of water and haha lucky for wash cloths to hide the test submerged. I still haven't told him I boas... I don't think I will either lol! He doesn't need to know how much of a testing addict I have become.

CONGRATS DISNEY!

my cervix is VERY high and soft. I'm 5dpo, I know that it's to early to start having symptoms though.

It seems i have had an early MC ... so correction on my earlier post.
It is possible that all those who have had a BFP BOAS have possibly suffered an early MC :hugs:

They say 1 in 3 pregnancies end this way so im guessing the BOAS way just confirms what we wouldn't normally know at that point.

I really shouldn't do BOAS again - i would rather not know! But i will do BOAS again because i need to know

xx

Congratulations Disney :flasher:

Have you done anymore BOAS since your BFP? xxx

Oh no, I am sorry! How did you find out it was a MC? Hope next month brings you a sticky bean!!

I'm 5 dpo today and decided to try this (with Wondfo no less) just for fun. This is what I got.. Top pic was taken before 5 minutes, middle was closer to 10 but not after, and bottom was after i tried to clear it with water.

I can see the line on the first two, but the last pic is too small for my eyes to see it well. I bet within a few days they will be blazing positive!

I couldn't resist any longer. I'm either 5 or 7dpo. My control didn't even get that dark. This is around 2 mins. I'll see if it darkens over time. If anything I can have a negative control.

5-7 mins. Looks pretty negative to me.

I used spit after flossing, if it makes a difference. I'm a gum bleeder though.

and 10+ mins

Hi Whisper :flower:

It was a very very heavy period, i was going through a 8 hr tampon and 8hr pad in 15 minutes. I had a computer course in work on the second day of bleeding so i used my diva cup. I was cramping really badly all day and when i came home i got in the shower to empty my diva cup and to clean myself up. Some 'stuff' was too big to fit down the plug hole and as i showered the water washed whatever it was. On closer inspection it was about the size of a 10 pence piece and it was round, veiny and had white stringy bits - having had many MC i do believe this was the sac. I had many faint positive POAS aswell as positive BOAS but the BOAS was dark enough for my DH and mum to see.

I am a firm believer in destiny so this was not meant to be ... when its my time i will be sent a sticky pippy <3<3

amandab26 i see it  I think you may have a positive POAS in a few days judging by those lines :winkwink:

Nagazim i see yours too if i tilt my computer  My flossing BOAS were always very faint as the blood is so diluted. If you had used more blood your lines probably would have been darker

Think I'll try it again. It's too early for urine after all

I'm thinking I don't have good luck with blood on a hpt. lol I don't really see anything other than what looks like where the test spazzed out. This was at about 15ish minutes and cleared. At least I got a control line this time.

Nothing at all. My blood doesn't work lol :haha:
