the book section seems dead so here i am

thinking this might inspire a few people to go
out and buy/download some new books, take
advantage of the good weather

:happydance::happydance::happydance:

so what have you been reading and was it any good?

welcome to give a lengthy review or just stars out of 5
or just chat about books in general

my recent reads

The Memory Keeper's Daughter
Kim Edwards
5 stars
so sad and a little heart wrenching in places as to
how disabilities were seen in the past
the ending was quite sweet aswell
would recommend, might need a box of tissues though

The Hunger Games trilogy
Suzanne Collins
5 stars
BRILLIANT, literally couldn't put them down, the second
one took a while to get good but the whole trilogy
was just amazing, really recommen
d

Perfect People
Peter James
5 stars
love the concept and the story itself
great read, the ending is a bit pants but it's
only the last chapter the rest was good lol

The Burning Soul
John Connolly
4 stars
not a bad book, wasn't so amazing i couldn't put it
down but still worth reading, quite liked the couple
of twists and humour in it too

Water For Elephants
Sara Green
5 stars
loved this book, sad bits, funny bits, romantic bits
it has it all, totally recommend, it's also much better
than the film!

Fractured
Karin Slaughter
4 stars
thought i'd give the author another go,
quite enjoyed this book with it's twist and turns,
starting to get into her style of writing now

Fallen
Karin Slaughter
4 stars
wasn't overly fussed when they revealed the
identity of the bloke at the heart of it but it was
still quite an enjoyable read

slightly less recent

Fifty Shades trilogy
E L James
4 stars
first book is a little repetitive and unrealistic
but as a whole not a bad set of books, will certainly
get your imagination going if nothing else lol

One Perfect Summer
Paige Toon
4 stars
great summer read, ending was a little sudden
i would have liked a better reuinion hence the 4 instead of 5
but overall it's not a bad book

Me Before You
Jojo Moyes
5 stars
loved this book, so heartbreaking but you do laugh
aswell as sob like a baby, well i did anyway, would
so recommend, brilliant book

The Night Circus
Erin Morgenstern
5 stars
seeing as the cover doesn't tell you anything i wont spoil it,
just buy it, you'll want to run away and join a circus
when you've finished, brilliant book, so magical and
enchanting even a tad romantic!

Remember Me
Lesley Pearse
5 stars
my favourite book of hers, truely inspirational and totally
heartbreaking, just amazing, it's a shame there's no record
of what happened after she left as i'd love to know the rest
of her story, it's one of the books that stays with you, just
read it, you will cry it's so sad but so courageous

Belle
Lesley Pearse
5 stars
this is my second favourite of hers, loved it
does mention rape, kidnapping and prostitution so might be a
bit of a no go for some but it is a good book and i would
recommend for those who enjoy slightly 'darker' stories

Stolen
Lesley Pearse
5 stars
quite a gripping storyline with a few unexpected turns
i really enjoyed this, as i have many of her books, i don't want
to ruin the storyline but it does involve infant loss so again not
for the lighthearted

The Bell Jar
Sylvia Plath
3 stars
i was expecting so much more, it's not bad but it's not
the amazing literary art piece i was expecting, it's been
hyped up so much it was a let down for me, the last
third of the book is quite good but for me it was just meh

The Good Father
Diane Chamberlain
5 stars
loved this book aswell, so nice to see a book told from
a father's point of view aswell as the other characters
you literally fall in love with the characters, brilliant read

Blindsighted
Karan Slaughter
4 stars
not usually a fan of crime novels but this one intrigued me,
some parts are a little predictable but generally i quite
enjoyed this, tried another one of her books and didn't like
it at all so might be a one off lol

My dear, I wanted to tell you
Louisa Young
zero stars
sounded like a 12 year old had written it and i had to
stop reading, no idea why the author felt the need to put
random sexual rubbish into it, standing outside someone's house
and feeling the need to rub one out doesn't amount to a good
book, so i gave up, no idea why it's rated so highly but i don't
really want to find out lol

Live Wire
Harlan Coben
4 stars
started a little slow and if i'm honest wasn't really a thriller
but i do like his style of writing and sense of humour and i
did really enjoy it once it got going, i look forward to reading
a few more of his

your turn

and of course spam is more than welcome

:winkwink:

I've taken to reading books by Casey Watson and Cathy Glass. They're foster carers for children and each book is the story of their time with that child. Absolutely amazing books but so sad at the same time.

Im reading the hunger games-usually I like to read the book then see the film, however I have done this the other way round and its kinda spoiling the book for me. I'm on book 5 part 1 at the moment got part 2 sitting waiting for me to read i have loved reading this series it is so good. I have read them back to back as there are so many characters plot lines it would be easy to lose track if i read other stuff inbetween.

Hunger Games Trilogy - Saw the film and wasn't impressed by it, felt like something was missing so got the books. Enjoyed them not the best I have ever read but couldn't put them down lol
