Colsy ~ I'm sure Monty will loose the 1am wake up call when he's ready, stick in there girl. CC had 1am and 4am; we have lost both (for the time being~)

Yeah, he'll lose it at some point soon I'm sure. In a funny way, I like that he still needs us in the middle of the night. I'm very lucky that OH still does the nappy change after a feed in the night, so it's not just me and Monty in the dark. Until he definitely stops waking in the night, he'll be in our room. And really I want him to stay in our room - it's lovely him being so close.

Hi girls. I have a rather strange question! I have noticed this morning that James stinks of vinegar! And his pee smells really bad. Do you think its something to worry about or just random?

Hey LK, we have this with Monty sometimes. TBH I never really thought about it - I just assumed that this was what babies smell like sometimes. Now you've got me worrying too LOL, but at least we can panic together

Maybe a bit dehydrated? Keep an eye on him and maybe give him a little water to dilute anything acidic.

Could be a wee infection. Diabetics pee/breath can get like this. Might wanna just call the Dr and ask advice and if they think he needs to be checked out. Prolly nothing, but better to put your mind at rest! :)

Good morning ladies!

Hope everyone had a good night! Emma had a better sleep last night so maybe the growth spurt is over? She's definitely outgrown a couple of her 6-9 mth sleepers- took a few tries to find one in her drawer that fit last night. I got Emma enrolled in baby swim classes last night. They start on Monday and only run for 7 weeks so we'll see if she likes them before enrolling her in a longer stretch of classes. Yoga finishes soon so that'll be nice to have something else to go to. I just hadn't planned on being seen in public in a bathing suit so soon

Eswift- CC is a cutie! Glad to hear your doc appointment went well- hope that the iron tablets do the trick and boost your energy :)

Kte- it's funny how toys from other places seem more exciting when you're little :) My mum had a Paddington Bear teddy that I used to like to play with- my dad bought Emma a little one last time he was back in London so she's starting a collection of stuffed animals from abroad too :) I still have a bag filled with all my stuffed animals at my parents place too.

Aimee- OH and I were commenting on violent cartoons a few weeks ago- we have a "retro" cartoon channel that is all the cartoons from when we were little and were watching Looney Toons (nothing else on TV that night, lol) and it's another violent one with the Road Runner and Cayote. Didn't seem violent when we were little but I guess it is! I used to be surprised by the cartoons that my class watched when I was teaching in Korea because they would inevitably try to mimic what they had seen on TV at playtime. I have a feeling I won't have to worry about Emma pretending to be some kind of violent fighting character though- unless she's a tom boy :)

Maffie- Glad to hear the ECG went well. I hope the blood work goes well and they can figure out what's going on. Have fun ebaying :)

Colsy- I think it's harder to find the Connectas because they are so popular and people really like them (less likely to part with them, maybe?). We have something similar, a Boba, and I love it (I"m a carrier junkie). The Boba is rated for babies 15-45lbs and with Emma being over 20lbs now, I like that it'll last us a while longer. I find that I can wear her for hours without her starting to hurt my back. I've read some reviews of the Baby Bjorns that say that once a baby gets to be about her size, the carrier pulls at the shoulders, but I haven't tried one so I don't know how true it is. I find the mei tai style of carrier distributes the weight really well though. I've finally mastered the back carry and that's super comfy for both of us- I can see that it's going to be the main way I'm going to carry her when she's bigger. hth :) Monty sounds cute with helping you vacuum :) Hope you are both feeling better!

Hope everyone is having a good day- time to find some breakfast!

Colsy I got my connecta on the natural mamas forum they go between £40-50 Its so easy to put on i like the buckles it feels really secure.

... look at your baby in wonder and think 'Gosh, you're my son/daughter. How lucky am I!'? It's a funny feeling isn't it?

Hi Fellow Bumpkins!

It's been months since I've posted so don't know if you will remember me? I was in hospital for a couple of weeks after Kai was born and thought I was probably too late to catch up with anybody by the time everything had settled down so I'm really thrilled to find you are all still here!

Kaites - wow outgrown 6-9 month sleepers!! Kai is a lil lad and isn't even big enough for the 3 month ones yet! :baby:

The Connectas sounds interesting - I have a Calin Bleu wrap but I've only used it a couple of times as have been a little nervous.

Colsy - I figured out what it was. Went up to his moses earlier and discovered that he had been sick in the night and thats what the smell was! The patch absolutely stank of vinegar. So that solved that. He just had his last set of jabs and man was he pissed about it! Screamed at them and had proper tears and all. Had his bottle in the waiting room and fell asleep in the car on the way home. He is still sound asleep so hoping he will be ok when he wakes up.

Vinegary vomit. Aren't babies luvly?!

Lol lucky you Chaos - no sense of smell would have come in very useful with the disgusting nappy he did earlier lol.

Afternoon ladies

First off, for all those that were wondering it was negative....turns out I'm just weird/ill/weird! lol. I will probably make myself an appointment at the GP's in the next couple of weeks (tried earlier but the only day they had available I couldn't make. Lovely thing though - all booked in for Earl's second set of jabs (waaaaaaaaay behind on them. 17 weeks and only just having his 2nd lot! :dohh:) and my smear :growlmad: I hate them!!! But, must be done.

Earl's new chair arrived this afternoon. I managed to put it up on my own (I'm a dunce with flat packs) and it's still standing lol. He looks a lot more comfy now and he's slightly obsessed with the dangly hippo on it! lol I'll post a pic later.

LK - I'm glad you found the cause. Babies are just wonderful sometimes aren't they lol.

Colsy - I often have a 'I have a son' moment. Especially if I'm doing something official. Filling out forms or booking appointments, that kind of thing. Looking forward to the census (is it this year or next?) as that should be fun lol.

Anyhoo's, sorry if I've missed anyone, just popped on to let you know those few bits. Have a nice evening ladies. Nearly bathtime and mister is becoming monster lol.

Aimee Noah only had his first lot of jabs a week or so ago, doc said it was fine.

Hate smears *shudder* just awaiting my results i was well over due 9 years

Strange question Chaos but do you wear perfume? I cant imagine picking shower gel etc and not knowing what I smell like.

LK vinegary sick sounds so gross!!!

Well got a spag bol on the hob, just managed 40 odd items onto ebay, must crack on with more tonight or tomorrow. Noah is well upset today keeps screaming and the only thing to stop him is to give him the boobies.

.

I wear Charlie Red body spray, have done for years, everyone says it smells nice lol. And I know my family would be honest with me and tell me if it stinks. I get my Nan to send me tins of it over.

For shower gel I use Dove. Again, everyone says it smells nice! Could smell like rotton arse for all know haha.

Aimee ~ At least it's one thing ruled out.

Colsy ~ I get that feeling too, it just randomly re-hits me every now and again, its great.

Having a bit of a wobble day today, its my penultimate week off this week and it has gone too fast. I have a few plans for next week so I can see that flying by too. I'm not ready to do this :( I have done a post about it https://www.babyandbump.com/work-fi...-work-full-time-im-not-ready.html#post4465694

Ah madam has awoken again, I have written so many replied to youall today and just not got the chance to post them :(

Couple of piccies from today -

1 - in his new chair
2 - the cutest picture of him.....ever! (I hasten to add hubby took this one - not my handywork lol)

Kte - I know what you mean about not feeling ready. I had a wobble yesterday about feeling the pressure and I'm not going back until at least April. I really feel bad for you having to go back. I would say, could you ask to condense your hours, or work a bit from home? Or could you book your holidays on the day you go back to perk you up a bit? Parental leave is 13 weeks unpaid over the 1st five years so you could take some of that if you can take a little bit of a hit financially. I would speak to Nij, and your bosses and see what your options are before getting worked up. I really hope there are some options for you as I can tell how upset you are......:hugs:.

Off to bed soon....ker-nackered!! More stargate tonight :happydance:

Thanks Aimee :hugs:

I am using up all my hol's now so I can extend my time off. I have to cover the childminders hol in Aug but Nij can't get the time off. Nij is covering the childminder in June and my mum is covering another week. I have provisionally booked a week off in October as my hols start again in Sept so we can have our 1st family holiday then! My Mum has said look into my hours etc again and let her know incase her and my Dad can help at all, to what extent I dunno. I think it a depends on if we could take a mortgage break to not worry about money & obviously see what work say about my hours.

Cute pics of Earl, looks like he is telling your doggy to keep away from his new chair! Enjoy more SG.

Im hoping to get to bed soon, penultimate weekend looms! At least its Nij's full weekend. Have his parents over tomorrow and we get to watch live Eastenders. We are normally a day behind due to Nij's bed time lol.

Night xx
