here hun:
Right i have a couple of questions if anyone can help...
I want to make some more cherries...and also some butterflies and blossom flowers to go ontop of some cupcakes.....i have bought some already Regalice Ready To Roll Icing....is there something i have to add to this though when making them? what is it?
also i am making some cupcakes, lots of them, to take into work for my birthday...going to take them in on the Thursday so when shall i make them...wednesday night? worried i will struggle for time..any tips on how i can be prepared? (going to make chocolate, lemon and vanilla cupcakes, around 36 or so)

just any advice is welcome...going to a new shop later so i can buy things that i need.
xx

the stuff to mix with your fondant is called Gum Tragcanth.....

If you can, I would make them the night before. Cupcakes dont keep as long as big cakes because they are generally not totally covered in icing iykwim?!

Time saving....... You could have all your ingredients weighed out, ready to use.
Make your buttercream the day before you need to use it, flavour it and cover it well and it will keep :)

Oh and you can make all your cucpakes toppers well in advance, just put them in a sealed tub after they have dried out a bit

Brilliant, thankyou hunni...just about to leave....hope i dont spend too much! lol
xx

Hi girls, i'm tentatively joining you as I am thinking about making my own wedding cake  I enjoy baking but tend to sway more to biscuits etc. This was my last cakeI made - chocolate fudge :D (sorry about the rubbish picture!!)

Hoping to get tips on icing and sugarcraft from you gals xx

 Hi Vici..yum yum that looks lush!

Its great in here, the more experienced girls anser all my questions and without them I wouldnt have been able to even bake a simple sponge!

Ohhhh ambitious to do own wedding cake...but fair play to you!

I know, i keep thinking that  If my practices between now and Oct prove shaky then i'll buy a base and decorate myself lol. I'm still not sure whether I want cupcakes of big cakes :D

Ok a bit of help again please :)

After I sent that message last night I got this back today.

im sorry but i dont get it again, because if £10 is what it cost then why are you taking £20? & i thought u said it was the deposit that wasnt refundable? so basically im sending you £20 for no cake, which doesnt make any sense, because thats what the deposit was for, and its not like your sending me the ingredients for the cake which you paid for out of my money, within a few hours of me sending it you and me telling you i didnt want it. i dont mean to be rude honestly, or a hard and funny customer, because the cupcakes wer really yummy and its not my fault its come out like this but dyah no what i mean im broker then broke and now im litrally throwing £20 in the bin, and i dont understand why!!

Does she think I was going to make the cake for free??!! Is she for real?! If she pays the postage I will happily send her the ingredients to make her own! But does she seriously think I was making it for nothing?!

I need ur girls help!

does anyone know if u can get army camoflage cupcake cases???, ive looked and cant find any anywhrere??

Kelly, i would just bin her off, you can use the ingredients for something else, i dont think its worth the hassle from her tbh hun, tell her not to worry, whizz her her £20 back and just keep the £10 deposit, that covers the cost of your ingredients anway, so in refunding her the £20 your just losing your labour money, which technically you havent "done" yet.

Got my customer service head on there

agree with Holly Kelly, just pass it off as a bad experience and take more for deposits!

Leanne I have def seen them somewhere, will have a look about in a while :)

theres some here but these arent the ones I seen before!!
