When can you give the two?

I read you can give a dose of each 30 mins apart but then I also read that you can give a dose of each at 2 hourly intervals....i'm confused and I have an ill baby to cope with!! help!!

not with maddie, but my other's,i actually give at the same time!!! this is what my friend advised me to do!!! omg  what a div:haha: not sure then hun!x

I can't remember where I read it (will have a look in a mo) but I don't think they recommend giving paracetamol and ibuprofen together or even alternating them. I just stick with Calpol. I'll see if I can find a link.

just found this https://www.blurtit.com/q561388.html not sure where the advice comes from on that one.

but I also found this https://www.nhs.uk/chq/Pages/2569.aspx?CategoryID=73&SubCategoryID=103

I think it's more about using the other if the first doesn't work rather than using them both.

Thanks icy, was just looking at that myself :)

We were told to alternate when Abi had a high temp and to give at 2ish hour intervals as then it doesn't wear off. We were also told that the reason it wasn't recommended was that some people were forgetting which they should be giving and were overdosing their children, I always write it down so that me and DH know what been given and what's next.

bit late, but as above, we were told to give it at two hourly intervels to control her temp.
you do need to be careful not to overdose too
we write down what she's had x
