Canadian Moms & Moms to be!

Hope you get a :bfp: sugarlys.

Not much done here today, B and I had a bath and relaxed. I can't wait for her to feel better. Poor thing just isn't herself.

Baby dust, Sugarlys!

Not sure I introduced myself. I'm Brandi, married to Mike, and we have 3 kids...Zoe, 4, Isaiah, 3 and Anberlin, 7 months.

Hope all the sick kiddos and Mommies feel better soon!

Anberlin started clapping today!

Thanks everyone!
Nice to "meet" you, Brandi.
I guess I didn't really introduce myself either.
I have been married to Chris for 3 years and I am a teacher.
I will keep you all updated :)

Good luck sugarlys! Hope it's a :bfp: !
I'm trying to clean up the house this morning, then we may try out our x-c ski gear a bit this afternoon. We are hoping to head to the mountains for some skiing tomorrow.

Its currently 14c here. I think part of that's why I'm not able to get into the Christmas spirit of things, it feels like mid-Fall! Well, aside from it getting dark at like 4:30pm and the no leaves on the trees. :haha:

Have fun skiing!

Hope you get a :bfp: Sugarlys!

Have fun skiing Sarah!

I'm having a hard time this year as well Tiff but I think that's just because of how the last few months have been more than anything

I can't believe how warm it's been today! The rain looks like it's clearing some here so maybe the kiddo and I can go out for a walk later.

We had flurries here today and 4c here right now.

Have fun skiing Sarah.

I just can't get over how quickly this year has gone by. It didn't go by this quick when I wasn't on leave.

I agree 100% lisa.

J just had her check up. According to dr's charts she's dropped %iles for both weight and height (but according to who charts for bf'd babies she hasn't). Dr says she needs to eat more solids.... i've got chicken thieghs in the oven, egg yolks being boiled and mac and cheese made up and i picked up some more banana's and an avacodo to try. i've also got yogurt she likes, and i can spread her jarred fruit onto ww toast. Any other idea's for finger foods for a picky 9 month old?

Good luck Sugarlys! I hope you get that :bfp:!!!
Btw, my name is Kate - married to Pete, and Mommy to two little girls! :D

Brandi - Cute video! :)

Im finding this winter really depressing all around. :( I hate that it gets dark by the time I get home from work everyday... I hate the cold... I hate that I had to go back to work from mat leave in October... I could go on and on... :sad1:
Its just been hard this year. I LOVE Christmas, but you're right - this year doesn't quite feel Christmassy. :nope: And like I said before, I don't like snow OR the cold... but we need snow on Christmas. This rainy, depressing crap just doesn't cut it. :(

Speaking off which, I think I will go watch a Christmas movie before bed. :haha:

lol ya feels like we live in the stereotypical england now eh ;)

Have a great time skiing sarah!!!! Do you take the kids with you?

I am probably going to die tomorow... I wont be in bed till 11:30, I stayed up cleaning and I have to be up at 5:30am to work tomorow... BOOO!!!!

Just did a test and it showed negative....
Still no period!! I must be extremely irregular!!

:hugs: Maybe in a couple of days you will get a different result? Fingers crossed.

WENDY I forgot to say anything but we have Eggnog shakes this year and NO ONE is buying them... so go buy them all lol!

Sara- I know around 9-12ish months Elyse LOVED pasta; Gerber puffs; blueberries; watermelon; scrambled eggs; mashed potatoes and sweet potatoes; steamed broccoli and cauliflower; roasted squash; yogurt; ham in pieces; chicken in pieces; pita w/ hummus; grilled cheese... when she gets a bit older, I made a realllyyyy good chocolate-avocado pudding a few times, obviously Elyse only got a couple of spoonfuls and I nom'ed the rest, but it's from Deceptively Delicious... it's rich, creamy... I don't think you can tell it is avocado..

How is everyone doing? Feels like it's been forever. I have my McJob, 35-40 hours per week... plus on Sunday I had to cover a meeting & then the managers went out to Boston Pizza, then yesterday a focus group at Boston Pizza (BP paid twice by my work for me this week.. :happydance:)... and I started my own Arbonne business (vegan, Swiss-formulated personal care and cosmetics) so I had an Arbonne party last week and I am working on getting started up with that.. I honestly don't know where I found the time to do school and work and everything before

Is everyone ready for Christmas too? I am ready- wrapped etc.. except for wrapping MIL's gift... Andrew and I haven't got each other's gifts yet so we decided to not do them this year, and in the new year we're going to paint the kitchen and get some stuff we need to make it look a bit fresher. Not necessarily in January, but in 2012!

We also decided to do the fence this year and get the backyard finished, we want to get a dog in the fall. I really want a Boxer and he wants a Lab...

im gonna vote boxer for you tasha, im not sure if my vote counts though LOL

Hope you have good day Joss. you must be tired.

we're off to a xmas party at the EYC this morning... have to leave in 20 mins, just drinking my tea then need to get baby and i dressed.

for breakfast this morning i offered toast with pear puree, yogurt, banana and some cheerios... she ate a few bites of banana, a few bites of yogurt and a bite or two of toast. i guess its a start, but it gonna be a slow process! she may not have been overly hungry either seeing as she nursed a few times last night, so we shall see how lunch goes. I went to the weelicious website and got a bunch of recipes that look good.

My poor upstairs neighbor is having a heckuva time with her Boxer. Every day she comes home and her dog has something else destroyed. The dog wigs out being left in a crate and I don't think she has anything that she can tether the dog to while they're gone for work. They are cute dogs though! :cloud9:

Glad J made some progress Sara! :hugs:

Definitely not ready for the holidays here. :haha:

I think we should actually get a small dog- due to the size of the house, living in the city (lack of leash-free areas)... Andrew doesn't want a small dog whatsoever though and won't even consider it, even though I tried to appeal to his Scottish heritage LOL and suggested a couple of little terriers...

Ever since he saw one of my family's friend's dogs... a black Russian terrier... a GIANT one at that... he has been obsessed with getting a bigger dog though. His parents had a dog that was a mix of some kind and huge too, who died when I was pregnant with Elyse... he was a great dog though. Now his dad has a Shar Pei... I REALLY hate that dog, and I know it's awful, but it always puts its bum on me  it gets smelly if it isn't groomed often and it's not wet dog smell it's just nasty. I feel bad though, it's Andrew's dad's dog, and because he moved out for 18 months, the dog was left with Andrew's mom.. who took care of him but didn't really follow all of 'the rules' because it wasn't "her" dog iykwim. Poor thing is probably confused... but I think the way that dog is definitely put Andrew off certain breeds of dog.

So he wants a golden retriever, lab, or german shepherd. It wouldn't be the end of the world having any of those dogs, lol. But regardless of what he says, we are both the adults here and there will be times where we both have to feed, walk, clean up after, play with, etc. whatever dog we end up getting.. so I think my opinion should count as much as his- even if he says it will be "his" dog.. he brought up the argument that I got to pick out the cat. Well, he was indifferent about it... I'm not about this...

And he is a big suck, he is Gina's favourite, they cuddle and everything... although I'm the one scooping her poop and brushing her, paying for her things :dohh:
