Canadian Moms & Moms to be!

Tasha I hope you and A can come to an agreement on a dog! Nathan used to always say we had to have a dog, but then he realized how much responsibility they actually are :haha: So no pets for us for awhile...we'll probably wait till Alia requests one, and then she'll get a cat.

Had my 37 Week appointment this morning and all is well! Everything is on track and the doctor thinks I should be able to have a VBAC :) I can't believe I'm due in three weeks!! And Christmas is next weekend

How exciting, Melissa!
Obvi I am out of the loop - do you know if you are having a boy or girl? Hope you are feeling well!

yay for a VBAC! Good luck Melissa :hugs:

I think that you are right Tasha and should have a choice as well.

Hannah told us the other day she wants a dog, a real dog  Not happening  I have enough with our two cats and really don't want the added cost involved. Plus I am not one to walk a dog in the freezing cold :haha: I'm just not a dog person

i love other peoples dogs... they are just too much work for me. my cats are fairly self sufficient - even if the one is high maintanance.

melissa - did you say xmas is next weekend!! LOL i keep thinking i have a couple of weeks cause its like 10 days away... oh wait now its only 9. gotta finish my shopping!

j had some lunch... the floor had a lot of lunch, and the cat ate the lunch off the floor. LOL.

Sounds like B eating, our dog is well fed now.

B ate some cereal this morning, almost a whole tblsp so gonna try some more at supper again. She's been throwing up so I'm just offering her a little here and there. She seems to be feeling better this afternoon which is nice.

Hope you weren't too exhausted Joss.

Maybe wait a few days and test again sugarlys. :hugs:

I agree, you should also have a say in which dog.

Tash- personally I would go for the lab. They are probably one of the best family pets you can get which are incredibly patient with small children. We have one and my MIL breeds them. If you find a good breeder they will sometimes give away retired bitches who are super sweet... and not very old, but they are past the puppy stage and usually trained and accustomed to alot of handling because of breeding. I know my MIL's bitches are all total angels and make amazing family pets.

Wow! 3 more weeks, Melissa?! I can't believe how quickly that's gone by! Good luck with the VBAC! I hope your labour and delivery is everything you want it to be. Can't wait to see pictures of your little girl!

 you two are both getting close Amanda and Melissa :) yay

:hi: sugarlys... late period can mean many things. If you are TTC I'd recommend temping

check out how here!!
My Ovulation Chart
I've taken the holidays off of temping - it was getting too frustrating having nothing happen.

Tash - not that my opinion matters but I love my Keeshond... if you can handle some hair they are the best medium size dog out there... patient with the kids, love to be with the family, friendly, happy, smart as a whip... just well rounded dog. Check out the temperament that they talk about on that page. :)

But that's just my opinion :haha:

Melissa - Wow I cant beleive you're fullterm already! YAY for a VBAC too! :)

Tasha - There is actually a lady up here who breeds boxer/lab mixes, and they are AWESOME dogs! Thats what we plan to get when we finally get a dog (once the girls are older and dont leave toys everywhere!).
I love boxers but honestly, would NOT recommend a pure bred. They have alot of health issues later on, and often require very expensive breed-specific food. Labs are great, but can grow to be very big dogs and extremely energetic. But keep in mind, what type of dog that might work for one person, doesn't always work for another. ;)
Good luck with whatever you choose!

I went out for dinner tonight with my coworkers, and it was fun - but we brought the girls along (due to lack of sitter this weekend) and I am wiped out!

glad you had a nice dinner kate!

got a bunch of running around done today and went for dinner. Took an hour to get J to sleep!! its gonna be a loooooong night me thinks!

Glad you had a nice dinner Kate. Hope you got some good rest last night.

:hugs: Sara, I hope the night wasn't too long for you.

Nothing planned for the day but I am dying to get out of this house soon as we have been cooped up the past few days.

I had a lab cross growing up, and he was a great dog! I want a bulldog!

Melissa, SO EXCITING. I know you will do awesome :hugs: :hugs:

Been so busy here with Pudge and Helena with school, and Christmas. Hopefully once Christmas is over, I can get back on more often!

I prefer small dogs. Love my Shih Tzu! :cloud9: I'm not a big fan of drool, and most larger dogs that I know all drool in some form or another. Soooo gross! Not that small dogs don't have their things too. Gizmo sneezes all the time because of his pushed in face, he snorts all the time when he's excited. We call it "The Gizmo Hello" :haha:

3 weeks Melissa!!! That went by fast! (For me, I'm sure... not so much for you!)

:hugs: Wendy
