Canadian Moms & Moms to be!

I prefer smaller dogs too, but sometimes they can be a bit yippy

Tiff it definitely went by fast for me too :haha: I'm not ready yet. I don't know what I'd do if she came early!!! I'm keeping my legs crossed till January though :smug:

Hello beautiful ladies! Just popping in to say hi, I can't seem to keep up with this thread. Maybe one day we'll get an ipad and I can keep up in the back instead of having to come into the office.

Melissa I can't believe you're 37 weeks already! And a vbac is awesome, I'm happy your doctor is on board with it! :hugs:

Tasha a dog? So cool! I'm not sure if anyone posted this site (I skimmed) but I found it very useful when we were looking for one. I've decided on one but we need to fence our yard before we get one.
https://dogbreedinfo.com/

It talks about temperment and what are some common issues with the breed you're looking at. You can also have it so it shows which dogs are better with kids and other animals.
I hope it helps (If you haven't seen it before)!

Sorry, that's pretty much all I saw. I hope you ladies are doing wonderfully! I miss you! :hugs:

Hello mamas!

It's been months and months since I've been on here, but I've spent hours tonight going through 2 years worth of posts. Why? To find a record of all of the things Peter said and did over the last 2 years so I can take it to my lawyer on Tuesday. I've asked for a divorce, I'm moving out in 6 weeks.

It's been amazing reading over all of the comments from all of you. I just wanted to thank each of you so very very much for being there for me when I didn't have the strength to do what needed to be done:hugs:

Hi Tori :hugs:

Sorry I didn't respond to your FB msg. Just have had my head in the clouds. Again, sorry :hugs: but I am so happy that you are standing up for yourself!

Hi Rach! :hi:

I like some little dogs too - but bigger dogs have often been my preferred size. Not HUGE (mind you I LOVE Great Danes).... but "in-between" dogs are my favourite. :)

And big :hugs: Tori. Im so sorry you are going through this, but I know you're doing whats right for you and your little boy. Hang in there - it may be a rough road ahead but you deserve to be around people who love and respect you, and it will be worth it in the end. :hugs2:

:hugs: tori

Had a great day here! i got home and Tim had cleaned my house... and i mean he cleaned!! not just tidied! he spent 3 hours today scrubbing my floors by HAND! he did leave some odds and ends for me to deal with but it was HUGE! im thinking if he's handsomely rewarded maybe it wont only happen once every couple of years?!?!

Sara - POSITIVE REINFORCEMENT!!! Quick!!! Backrubs, home cooked meals, sexual favours, maybe all three.... :haha:

Tori - you have put up with so much. I hope you get the peace and love you deserve from your family life and I seriously hope karma serves Peter up a heaping dose of his own behaviour. :grr:

As for dog breeds... I recommend a cat! :haha:

Oh.. and as for me - I am listening to Tobe hack up both lungs and turn red and weepy-eyed from coughing fits. Am just a little worried. A few kids from our playgroup have had a bad chest cold that progressed to full-on pneumonia this last little while.
worry worry worry

:hugs: Tori!

That's awesome Sara :hapydance: Maybe it's time to show him that new nightgown ;)

 Sarah that's my kind of talk there. Poor kids I just never have been a dog person I guess

i hope Tobe is ok!! i really hope it isn't serious. im not trying to scare you, but my coworker just had her 5 year old diagnosed with pneumonia and it seems very prevalent this year. she recovered quickly once they got her on the proper med's but it took a week of high fevers and being sick for a dr to finally diagnose (they are in the USA mind you) and i would hate to see someone as young as Mr. Tobe be that sick. If you feel something is wrong, please trust your mommy instincts! :hugs:

Not scare-mongering at all, sara - just confirming my instincts - whatever that bad chest cold bug is, it has the potential to get serious very quickly. Just need to be on my guard.

Sarah hope his cough is nothing serious!!! :hugs:

Sara definitely reward that behaviour! Maybe make a rewards chart for him? Ya I've been watching too much supernanny haha

 Tori, nice to hear from you...sorry it's under such circumstances.

Hi Rach! Hope you can chat more soon.
I use my phone now mostly which seems to make it a bit easier to keep up, although it's mostly because I am banned from touching computers due to my destroying any I touch.

:hugs: Tori!

Hi Wendy! Hope things slow down so you can chat more again.

Somebody come take these molasses cookies before I eat them all, please.

I hope poor Tobe feels better soon :hugs: Pneumonia seems to be hitting around here as well.

Hey Ladies :)

I was wondering if one of you could answer my question.

Is it possible or normal in Alberta to get an ultrasound at 12 weeks?

I am 17 and just want to make sure my little one is growing properly. i don't really know if age will impact the pregnancy but I just want to know :)

Thank you ladies :)

KatVM - you should be able to get the u/s but its done as part of the screening for downs syndrome. you will need to tell the dr you want the testing done and you will be sent for blood work and the u/s. im not in AB and im sure one of the AB girls will let u know if im wrong, but im pretty sure thats standard pretty much everywhere. i told my dr that if something was wrong with J i wouldn't do anything about it, and then was told i wasn't getting the testing because i just wanted the u/s LOL

Hi! I'm from Alberta and my experience is that you can get one "early" if you need to confirm dates OR if you want the NT screen. But they won't send you one just to send you, their needs to be a reason.

:hugs: tori, I hope you are ok. You are one strong lady!

Sara- I hope Tobe feels better soon!!! Try and keep him upright as much as possible. But ya, I agree, there seems to be ALOT of pneumonia going around this year. At least half our patients are there is pneumonia and they arn't old people either.

I've heard of several people having pneumonia this year as well :(

I think the others covered the scan info Kat :)

I got an early one this time because of low HCG levels to start with and a 13 week one with my first (though wasn't expecting it because I was certain of my dates and I'd refused the nuchal testing--My OB wanted to send me for a dating scan anyways once I got in to her).
