child benifits UK girls....not good news

No one is telling you what to do with your children, so i dont get why you are being rude now? People are just challenging your opinion and viewpoint, you are equally as entitled to challenge mine, Hayleys, or someone elses viewpoint that has been participating in the conversation.

Surely we can discuss this like adults without having to resort to swearing?

I can see the job centre interviews now...

Jobcentre: Why can't you work?

Mum: I can't because I don't want to put them in childcare. There might be a perv there. So I'll just take the benefits, thanks.

:dohh:

Well that my excuse sorted, thanks sweetie:thumbup:

God help you if you have a dodgy looking midwife then...

You know, after working in a large uk nursery franchise, it's so insulting!

Totally agree with vinteenage.

I'm glad all these benefits are being cut.

well maby if you were in a situation where you had the smallest amount of money then you wouldnt have the same veiw.
From all your posts i read you seem to have a very snobish attitude. I will say right now that the £500 and the £190 or whetever it is really did help me, my family dont have much money and so it does help some familys that have no savings and little money coming in. Maby you could afford to buy everything but some people dont, i think you need to take that into consideration other peopes situations before posting.

I think they should have a cut off point for who should get it not completely take it away! Its totally unfair to people who genuinly wouldnt be able to afford to buy things without it.

And maybe before going in all guns blazing, maybe i have been in that situation before?

Before my fiance was lucky enough to become successful in his job, we relied TOTALLY on the benefit system. We were on jobseekers, housing benefits, every single benefit going, we had it. I know exactly what it's like to struggle, actually.

I'm sorry you find me 'snobbish' but i'm damn well proud of what we have worked for and if that makes me snobbish, i couldn't give a monkeys. I'm also damn well sick of all these benefits available. So yes, i am glad they have clamped down.

And for all these people saying 'we need the money' .. What do you think people did BEFORE benefits were around? They just had to get buy. There have been people living off hardly anything before benefits and they survived..

As i said before, we totally relied on the goverment before we found and worked hard at our jobs, so i know exactly where people are coming from. We had barely anything, we didn't eat for days, lived in the cold, it was awful. however, i do believe the government hand out money willy nilly, and too much of it. I did take the 190, but refused the 500. Babies are not expensive. They are only expensive if you make them so.

So, yes i do stand by my earlier post that i am glad the government is clamping down. We are in too much debt. It's up the parent to pay for their child as best they can, not the government. It's not snobbish, it's logical.

well im sorry but if you were in the situation right now where you had little money you would be very grateful for the help. Just because you have found a job great for you but not everyone can work or can find work.

Even if you buy the standard things and 2nd hand gear over the months having the baby the nappies/wipes/ect, the costs do build up even if your not using the £500 on a flashy pram you can put it away and use it for emergencies.

You wouldnt be ;damn well sick of the beneifits available' if you were in the position you were in before? hypocritial springs to mind.

Very contradictory too, you were happy to take them before what if you OH lost his job tomorrow, then what would you do ?

and yes it's up to the parent to pay but how can they provide if they have no money :dohh:

I would LOVE to be able to go to work but the amount i would pay in childcare wouldnt make it worth my time, im far better off at college especially with the lack of jobs around.

Aye, I couldn't leave Alex in SCBU, load of weirdos there too taking pics of the preemies and putting them on FB....:dohh:

Again, an isolated incident, but you don't see anyone saying im not leaving my baby here....

I wouldmt leave my kid in a nursery either. Their grans would take them if need be, they would actually volunteer.

my opinion is mine and im not trying to change your out look on life im just sharing my veiws ..if you people carnt accept them cuz you think your lifes better than good for you im happy you have a job blah blah blah but no matter how many of you start moanin ..you still wont change my opinion ..

now whos been stupid?
i no my midwife thanx for your concern tho

See, I thought you would, you know the whole school too of course .

You'll be telling us you know all the bus and taxi drivers next, all the cashiers in tesco. Which makes ALL of those places super-safe of course.

sorry, went too far, but you catch my drift.

I've read dribs and drabs of the thread, don't have time to read 23 pages of circles! So I'll put in my two cents and that'll be that.

I recieved the £190, not the £500.. If the govt wants to give that amount to every pregnant woman that's fine I suppose. My eyes just about popped out my head when my MW told me I would recieve that JUST because I was having a baby. That's mental.

In a nutshell I dont see why having a baby entitles you to a guarenteed £190 and possible £500 off the govt.

Why? If you have a child, you should provide for that child. Me and my OH both work. If we weren't in employment when expecting Summer we would have got ourselves into jobs. Jobs are there for most people. You just have to want them. Too many people are quite happy recieving benefits and as long as the govt is happy to provide then many people will be happy not to work. It's ridiculous. I strongly believe that people should be forced into work if they are physically able.

I believe that things like food vouchers should be limited to one year. Enough time to find a job. If your in full time education and can't work then I think you should keep them. People that are more than happy to sit at home and not work shouldn't be given the means to do so.

So yeah, benefits are good for those who need them. But many use it to encourage laziness.

We don't want to change your opinion, i/we just don't agree with it, like you don't agree with mine/ours.

And we have gone full circle. This is the attitude as to why people choose not to work...and one wonders why there is such bad press.

I am not trying to change your opinion, just disagreeing. Its not right, and its why our benefit system needs a shake up as its currently flawed...

 I totally agree with what's been said about nurseries, at the end of the day you can't wrap your child in cotton wool forever, yes something could happen but the chances are more likely no, you hear of awful things happening when people go out to parties etc, but we still go out for a drink, we hear so many awful things but if we allow it to take over our lives then we would never leave the house. It does just seem like another excuse to claim more benefits without working

Come on girls, lets not take the mick, conversing like an adult works both ways, lets keep it on track :dohh:
