Lindsay I feel the same. I just want the next few weeks to go quickly so I can go for a scan!

I want to - I am sure it won't be done on the NHS so will probably go private. I think I'll probably try and book one in a few weeks time when I'll be 7 weeks as I think I would feel reasonably reassured to see baby at that point we are going on hols when I am 8 weeks so it would be nice to know everything is ok (fingers crossed!) before we go. I am sure I'll be sick by that time and we are going away with DHs brother and his family so they will probably notice - if the scan goes well then we will be able to tell them

I'm going to the doctor on Monday to try and get one, to reassure myself as I've had losses before. Im also on the nhs so hoping they will let me

Hopefully they will Malia, as you've had previous losses. I am going to ask today but I'm expecting they will say spotting early in pregnancy is normal and I need to wait. I found a couple of clinics nearby that do private early scans for £90 so I think that's fairly reasonable to put my mind at rest. I did an early scan at 9 weeks with my son which was £45 but that place is more of a fun scanning place so they don't scan until 10 weeks now. I can't wait until then this time!! Lol

I was just looking at that too. I don't think I can afford it though, as my hospital here won't reveal the gender, so I'll need to pay privately for a gender scan, and paying £95 twice is a fair amount of money.
Fingers crossed you get your early scan too!

I didn't realise that some hospitals don't reval the gender, that is a bit mean!

Hope you all get to have your early scans NHS or private. We have booked a private one for a couple of weeks time when I will be 8 weeks, mainly for reassurance, and because 12 weeks seems like aaages to wait!

It's a diagnostic test though - so they don't have to do anything that isn't wholly necessary for medical reasons. IF they get it wrong then they open themselves up to criticism so some hospitals see it as taking an unnecessary chance. Fair enough but there should be a similar policy everywhere.

I suppose so. Although I would never criticise them if they got it wrong - it's just nice to have an idea I guess some people might complain if they'd painted the nursery bought all the clothes etc in the wrong colour though ha.

I finally got a drs appointment this morning and it was a waste of time, he was really old and didnt really ask me anything just put it on the computer and gave me a booklet. I did manage to book my first midwife appointment though and the midwife happened to be in the reception area at the time and was very nice, so at least something good came out of it! I will definitely be booking a private scan for a few weeks time.

Some won't for religious, or it always used to be. Not quite sure now tbh.
12 weeks does seem ages away but then waiting until 8 is bloody ages too!

Just found out I am pregnant today. 5 weeks along and due anywhere from the 16th of December to the 21st. Super excited and nervous. I had one early miscarriage before I had my beautiful baby girl so I'm always nervous until a while in.

Tentatively joining here. If I go by lmp due date December 22nd! Test still kinda light because I O'd a little later but still obvious positive. So hoping test get darker before I make ticker.

I have an early scan booked for 7th of May when I will be 8 weeks which I have gone privately for. There is a place called take a peek close to me which do dating scans at £55. I also have my first midwives appointment booked for 11th of May... I'm super excited! But know these next few weeks will drag now I've got everything booked!

I probably won't call until monday to schedule first appointment. Just want my lines to get darker first. So I'm really jealous you have an appointment already.

I am glad I called as my sister has said the midwife is really booked up at the moment. So have managed to get in at 7 +2
