I'm going to the midwife on 9th May when I'll be almost 8 weeks. I am hoping to book an early scan either for that day or the previous week. We are off on holiday the day after that

That's the same in my area TTCMrsT - when I called the midwife she said your first appointment can be anywhere from 5-6 weeks to 10-11 weeks it just depends what appointments they have. I have an appointment for 4 weeks time so I guess they get booked up quickly!

I am *finally* moving over from the ttc forum. I am only about 4.5 weeks, but will be due around christmas 2016. We are so excited and nervous. It felt like a long journey to get here and still feels so surreal!

I have just booked a private scan for 9/5 the same day as my first midwife appointment, and the day before we go on holiday. All being well I think I should be able to go off on holiday feeling a lot more relaxed about everything

It's still a few weeks away so I'm excited but hoping the time will go quickly!!

Hi ladies, I've just found out I'm having number 3, going off my dates I will be due 14th December but I will have to have a section so will be about 8th Dec ish lol, we already have 2 boys so would love a girl but we will be over the moon no matter which we get xxx

Good morning! My tests have been darkening up beautifully so I'm feeling more confident in being able to say I'm pregnant! My first appointment will be May 2nd and he will be doing a vaginal ultrasound at that appointment for dating purposes and to check location. I will be 6w2d and I'm hoping I will be able to see the heart beat then!

My intake appointment is on May 10th and then my first appointment with Doctor is on May 23rd. Seem like so far away.

That's great Lindsay - mine too and I got pregnant 2-3 on a clear blue digi this morning (I had been saving it ) so feeling more confident now

With my other 2 I had a different Doctors office. So far things are already different. So I'm hoping this one will do an ultrasound at my appointment on the 23rd like my old doctor did. I would hate to wait until June.

My doctor won't scan until 12 weeks, I think I'll go crazy waiting that long so have booked a private scan which I will have to pay for. I don't mind paying as I think it Will be money well spent if it puts my mind at rest.

Oh absolutely! If there was a place close to were I live that did that I totally would. But the closest one is about an hour away and with my work schedule and kids I just won't be able to do that.
My old doctor did one on a portable machine just to make sure there was a heart beat and get a general idea of size then would schedule a more in depth one on a stronger machine closer to 12 weeks.

I hope your new doctor does the same for you! All I need is reassurance that there's a baby in there with a heartbeat - then I'll be happy

LOL I know for some reason I don't feel like theres really a baby in there and all the pregnancy tests I've taken (I'm embarrassed to say how many) are all lying to me.

Hi Everyone, I was wondering if I could cautiously join? I just got a positive hpt this morning on two different pregnancy tests a few hours apart. I still can't believe my eyes and I'm hoping and praying this little one sticks! Depending on which online due date calculator I use, my due date is anywhere between Dec. 24-28

I booked a private scan for Saturday the 30th, when I'll be 8w3d. I just can't hold out until 12 weeks. I'm always convinced something is wrong. And it was only £39

I felt like that with my first pregnancy Mattsgirl! This time it has sunk in a lot more quickly.

Malia that's not long to wait I am sure everything is just fine, and the scan will reassure you. Sounds like a bargain too!
