Clearblue fertility monitor

Well, CD 10 and I got my first high! It's unusual for me to get a high this early - I usually get a high later, like CD 13 or 15. Hoping this will mean I ovulate earlier, but really I think this batch of sticks are just more sensitive than the last. DTD last night, and now the plan is to go EOD until I get my peak... really hope this cycle is the ONE!

im still mega confused! i started on cd6 with a high, im on cd 11 and still only getting highs. i know it has to get to know you, but im feeling a bit dissapointed with the monitor. as just having a lots of highs and then a peak is the same as an opk so could have save myself £80. i really wanted the warning of the ov coming :( i was so excited for this cycle, sorry for the winge think maby i was expecting to much lol x

Sorry hun, but I'm not sure what you were expecting apart from lots of highs then a peak?

I've had 9 highs! I'm on CD16. Going to keep poas when it asks me. First cycle so it's just getting to know me

I'm in the TWW for my first cycle with CBFM and had 8 Highs before my Peak/O on CD16, and from CD14 EWCM so that was a good indication! Hang in there!!

Hi, this is my first month of using cbdm. I'm now 10dpo so eagerly waiting to see if it's worked. BUT feeling worried....it went straight from low to peak!? It was low every day and then suddenly on cd10 peak appeared! I'm worried about why I haven't had any highs.

Anyone else experienced this?

We bd on both peak days & day after but we missed the key time leading up to it.

I have a 28/29 day cycle. Thanks for any advice xx

yeah sorry i suppose it does sound a bit obvious thats what it does lol ( just having a bad day i think) i just thought i would get lows then the highs so i knew thoes peaks were coming, then the peak, but having endless highs leaves me not knowing, and just as miffed as before the cbfm. sorry for doing your head in people, ill go back hide under my duvet :) thanks anyway ladies

Don't worry about it hun, if you don't get your bfp this month, just wait til your next cycle on the cbfm, it will be so much more "normal", I'm sure. Hugs to you sweetie :hugs:

so I used the monitor this morning and I was still at a high on cd 16... which I wasn't that surprised at b/c I usually don't ov until around cd21-24. but I am also on my first cycle of clomid and my doc said it should help me to ov sooner... well I just did an OPK (6 hrs after I did the monitor) and I got the smiley face! if I didn't use the OPK we would not have BD'd again until tomorrow, which I assume is when I'll get the peak. but if it wasn't for the monitor I would not have known when my highs were for us to start BDing EOD! this is my first cycle using the monitor so hopefully this will do the trick!

That's why I use opks too. I got 4 days of positive opks so my surge was really long, but I was glad to back up the monitor and has an extra couple of potential baby making days:haha:

Good luck Mrs. JennyG! I am a bit (!) obsessive and also do OPKs in conjunction with the monitor, but I use internet cheapies. In the two months I've been doing this, both times I got a + OPK the afternoon or evening before my first peak.

Sherbut, I know a million highs are frustrating. If you read the reviews on amazon though, there are plenty of women who got BFPs after a month full of highs, no peaks! Also, you are only on CD 13 right? Still plenty of time to peak. I got my first peak ever on CD 17, then last month on CD 16 (typical cycle length is 28-30 days). I think the readings also depend on the sensitivity of the sticks and every box is a little different. My first box, I only got 2-3 highs before my peak. I am using a new box this time around, and I'm on my 4th high so far. I only had one low this time, which is really abnormal for me.

Minipoo, don't worry. I doubt you actually ovulated on CD 10 - that would give you a 18-19 day luteal phase which is really long. Ovulation can occur 12-48 hours after the peak, with the average being ~ 36 hours after peak, so you still have a very good chance having BD'ed on the first and second peak days. Do you also chart? It's the best way to confirm your ovulation date. Now that you know you peak early, at CD 10, you can plan for next month and start BDing earlier..

AFM, I'm on CD 13, my fourth high. Today is the first stick that looks totally faded/pale, so I'm just waiting for the LH line to show up now. My guess is tomorrow (FX!) or the next day. I'm hoping to O a little early this cycle - last time I O'ed on CD 16, the time before that it was on CD 17.

no peak on the monitor today AND -opk just now... so totally confused!!! do you think it could have been a bad opk? it was a CBE digi so I think I can trust it... well we BD'd Thurs, Fri (when I got the +) and I think maybe we should today too? What do you think? I was thinking depending on what the monitor and the opk says for tomorrow determines if we BD Sunday as well... I have an irrational fear that if we BD too much it would impact DH's sperm... HELP! I feel like I am over thinking all this...

I would go by the OPK in this case. It's possible you had a short surge (some last only 6 hours), so the CBFM could have missed it. I would BD today and tomorrow, given the + OPK yesterday. Then would skip Monday, and then go every other day starting on Tuesday just in case. If there is no peak on the CBFM this month, at least you got in your 3 days of BDing around the + OPK.

thank you so much Daisy- I just read on here that some people don't get the peaks so maybe the opk was right. I usually get 3 days of +opk but this is my first cycle on clomid and using the monitor (all my stats are in my ticker) and I feel like it's all totally different now!

Yeah, anything is possible now that you are on meds - it can change the whole ball game I'm sure. Maybe the clomid gave you a very short, but very strong surge. If you do ovulate early, like today or tomorrow, my guess is that you might have a somewhat shorter cycle this time. Only time will tell! Which is frustrating I know!

my doc said that the meds should shorten my cycles, which i am hoping is the case because they have been around 41 days! ugh waiting to ov until cd 21-25 has been really frustrating these past 11 mos

well -opk yesterday and today AND the monitor is still showing highs??? but my temp has started to go up... I'm so confused!

I think you probably ovulated, but will need some higher temps to confirm. It sounds like you had a short surge, and luckily you are doing the OPKs, otherwise you would have missed it. The CBFM isn't perfect - sounds like it just missed your peak this time. I think the same thing is happening with me this cycle. I had a + OPK last night and again this morning, but my cbfm is still giving me a high today, when it should be a peak. I'll attach photos... they are upside down. The line on the left on the CBFM stick is the LH line.

oh yeah the ic's are def +! i guess maybe our monitors both missed the surges. i still have highs today so I'm not sure what that is all about... maybe it's like a fade in/ fade out kind of thing? that's how my opk's used to be. I'm using CBE digi not ic's this cycle- I don't know why I'm not using the ic's... lol... but I always got the fade in/ fade out.

You are still getting highs because once the monitor detects your estrogen surge, which preceeds the LH surge, it gives you highs until it detects a peak. In this case, if it missed the peak, it will continue to ask you for sticks, and will continue to give you highs until you've gone through 20 sticks (or get a peak), whichever comes first. If the monitor truly missed your peak, you will never get a peak, just highs until you finish 20 sticks. Then it will go to low. The monitor is programmed to detect the first estrogen surge and the first lh surge, but stops reading sticks after that...it goes on autopilot.
