*~Dec Stars 09 Chat Thread~*

Hello to all the new recruits

Boomerslady - hope you're feeling better soon.

Nic - glad you're feeling a bit better, hopefully even better this morning.

Pink - glad your test results were ok, happy shopping.

Jake's being whingey this morning so am going to attempt to feed him then take him out into town, hopefully fresh air will sort him out!

Are you going to take LO to a doctor lullaby and see if they think its reflux too?

Have his 8 week jabs and check on tuesday so will say then to hv and probably get docs appointment...i thought it was just the way he is he's been doing it since he was a few days old and has gradually got it up to nearly EVERY bottle he cries or winges and pushes it away then back in etc. Though hv will more than likely say "he's not losing weight there's nothing wrong with him" or "your feeding him too much thats why he's being sick and not wanting it" She says that and i will probably lose the plot. Any time i have voiced a concern or tried to explain something she has brushed me off.

Hope everyone is having a good day!xx

Well i ended up[ giving her 1.5ml of calpol and man that was like magic! She slept 12.30-7 and then till 12. she was more chirpy but still caughing and sneezing, then she was a bit sick, but is def a bit better.shes just sleeping on me just now.

hey boomerslady, ive missed your thread, why are you in hospital?

anyone doing anything exciting on the weekend?

my uncle, his fiance, her sister, my auntie are all coming over, uncle and his fiance havnt met ava yet (long story) so theyre coming to visit and sunday seeing some friends prob for lunch.

its such a nice day here but i have to do housework. Mums taking ava next door for an hour for a coffe later, while i tidy and sort the house and make a lasagne for tomorrow. Bit nervous about her going out without me! be the first time properly! but gotta get used to it since i have a night out coming up and will be in Edin for the whole evening and going to a club! (which im SO excited about, but also scared to leave her!)

Hiya everyone whose just found their way here :hugs: I'm Sue and I'm useless with names-sorry!!

Thanks for your kind words Nic, I'm going to take Skyla to get weighed on Tuesday so I'll mention my feeling down to the HV.

Skyla settled at 8.30pm last night and slept until 5am when she came into bed with me for a feed and a cuddle  She did seem like she was waking at 3am but by the time I'd heated a bottle (I'm combination feeding) she was asleep again! So so far so good.

Hope everyones snuffly babies are feeling better soon! :hugs: :hugs:

Well my midwife has finally signed me off lol! But she has tracked down Dewi's referral to an opthalmologist so we at last have an appointment and can get a diagnosis as to whether he has Aniridia like me or not.

Oh and the Dr's called to give me my & Dewi's errr 6 week check up on 25th Feb!! lol he's 8 weeks this weekend! He wont even have his jabs then, they'll be later! We don't have much luck with him having anything on time since his 10 day late arrival!

I wish it wasnt so horribly icey outside I have to go to the nurse later!

My gp said to give Harriet a half dose if her temp didn't go down - and she was only about 6 days then so I'm sure it shd be fine purpledahlia. Is she a bit better today?

Im just waiting on Matthew waking to give him his bottle (im beginning to dread every feed) Going to start him back on the infacol to see if that'll help through to Tuesday. Then up to the shop.

Thats brilliant on Skyla sleeping that long

Ohhh hope you have a good weekend with family down etc Claire!

I have one of my mates calling round tonight for a natter though if she stays later she'll have to keep quiet through eastenders and silent witness

My grans down as well. She brings me my lunch every Friday :) Apple and Cinnamon Scone and a Viennesse Whirl Bun ...yummy! Then chicken Pie, Veg and spuds for dinner :)

Whats everyone else having for Tea?

Sweetlullaby I got a snot sucker for Harriet when she was all bunged up (still is a bit) and once she realised it felt a bit better when I used it she now let's me do it and giggles as I think it prob feels funny - bless her! You can get them in Boots. I got the saline spray too but never used it. I also put a drip or two if olbas oil in hot water and just have it across the other side of the room. Did help her to breathe - particularly at nighttime and bottle time just to clear her so she could breathe. No ill effects from it and that was a couple of weeks ago.

I got a reprieve yeaterday! She shd have had her bcg jab but the nurse couldn't fit her in - only thing now is that I have to work up to it again!! Argh!! All her measurements and health checks were fine though. Woohoo!!!

Yeah buffy she was much better after the calpol! magic stuff. Shes all snotty today tho cos im using the saline nose drops today. she is a little moany still but got lots more smiles than the last 2 days.

Were getting the BCG a week today... and her 8week jabs in the AM, scary! :S

hi everyone. wow there is more people and more post to catch up on
HOpe everyome and little ones are doing well.
Well i didnt buy anything from town today was pleased with myself, will have to buy caleb something soon. i cant believe he was 10 weeks old yesterday.
Steves sisters baby seems so small compared to caleb, caleb look is so big and also really pale where as harvey has quite tanned skin.
I think i`m going to go to the baby club after half term as caleb is more aware of things and it will be nice to get out. Has anyone else being to a baby club, if so how did you find it?
Im just off to my parents 2moro and to see my other grandparents in bridgnorth and apparently i`ve got to take pushchair as my mom wants her freind to see caleb to.xx

Welcome aboard Boomerslday!!

It's going to be hard to remember what everyones been up too, but fab to see new peoples!!!

Big well done to Skyla!!! :flower: Glad Ava was feeling a bit better too . Goos luck with Matthew and seeing if it is Reflux.

Had a brillinat day today... Booked our Honeymoon! :happydance::happydance: Off to take James to the Valentines disco now so will catch up later

Thanks for the hellos ladies :) my names Rachel by the way in case boomerslady is too long (and it's a stupid username anyway!!)

Chuck, Ben is sooo much better after his PS operation thanks. The first week or so after he was crying constantly....because we held him a lot in hospital he'd cry back at home if we tried to leave him in his bouncer etc. He's slowly getting a bit better though thankfully. It was sooo tiring having to have him sleep on me all the time!

Claire, i've been in hospital since Sunday :( (haven't eaten since last Friday!!) I came in with an inflammed gallbladder and I was put on antibiotics and was told I'd be out this weekend. On Wednesday I felt a new pain that was so intense I was having morphine injections every 4 hours. By Wed night they discovered I had developed pancreatitis too!! I'm starting to go mad, especially when the doc said on Thurs that I wouldn't be let out for 7-10 days!! They think there is a gallstone stuck in my bile duct, so next week I've got to have a small camera put down my throut to try and dislodge the stone. I'm trying to stay positive but I miss Ben soooo much. I'm gonna be away from him for nearly 2 weeks  it's too much to be honest but it has to be done if I want to get better.

Does anyone else's LO sneeze an awful lot? I mean, she doesn't sneeze constantly throughout the day but a few times and when she does it, she'll do anything from 1-6 all after each other!! I've never known anything like it

She didn't sleep all the way through last night but wasn't too bad either! Bottle at 10, down to sleep, bottle at 12.15am then back to sleep at 1am then woke up again at 5am, back down again until 9.30am! Definitely can't complain :)

Hope everyone's ok :hugs:

Mmmm apple and cinnamon scones sound well nice!! Dunno what I've got for tea, my sis is coming over as OH is off out so maybe she'll bring me a pizza expresssssss :)

:hugs: for all the poorly babies and mums in hospital :hugs: And yaaay for the babies who are on the mend!

My LO sneezes quite a lot, she always has done, that, and hiccups. She has a good old hiccuping sesh a couple of times a day. She even used to do this constantly when she was in my tummy... seems so long ago :)

Anyone got fun plans for the weekend or valentines day?

x

aw boomerslady that sounds awful, I was told when i discharged myself from hospital that if i was re-admitted id be able to stay on maternity ward and have ava with me, can you not ask if thats possible?? hope it gets sorted soon :(

Pink - ive been going to babygroup since she was 2 weeks. Its good, more for mummies to chat and drink tea and eat buiscuits! haha, but yeah its good and gets u out the house. Now shes more awake and able to lie under the playgyms etc its good. u'll enjoy it!

Molly has slept on us from day one, never been a problem really. Can't complain about endless cuddles :D

I would go to baby group but... I don't particularly like the town I live in and am not really into the idea of socialising with them. Snobbery maybe but meh...

I have just finished the housework, LO's ironing is done and I've popped a nappy wash on. Am trying this white vinegar thing because some of the inserts have come out like sandpaper!!! Did you ever get around to buying some, PD?

OH's family are coming to stay on Tuesday night and they always neglect to tell us how long for, which I think is rude. I hate them coming, tbh. They're lovely but his mum is forever staring at people... she's not seen LO since she was born and I feel bad putting her off but it's a hassle having to entertain.

I'm terribly antisocial, clearly

Harriet is the same. Hiccuped her way through third tri and has carried on ever since. I feel dreadful as I always think I've missed some wind but sometimes she will giggle or something and inhales quickly and "hic" she's off again! I've discovered if I give her a sip of cooled boiled water they go.

Mmm, Molly still hiccups lots. Feeding her stops it though.

She's been hilarious today, she seems to have really found her voice and is babbling away so loudly and almost constantly while she's awake. It's the cutest sound ever!!! :cloud9:

i went all the way to tesco to get white vinegar, came out sixty quid lighter and without the white vinegar. lol. But i will get some tomorrow and do a nappy wash sunday or so and try it. should work...

I have a crying upset baby, shes wa screaming, even the bath didnt help, gave her some teething powder and she napped for a bit, then screamed again, will give her a bottle soon and some calpol, poor wee mite. Were both full of the cold so if she feels like me then no wonder shes crying!
