I love this thread so much, money is gonna be tight this year, so would love to have some home made things for people :)

I meant to ask, for those of you making hampers, where are you getting hampers from?

well...postie today bought me cellophane wrap with holly printed on and a bag of 50 gold coins for my pots of gold  the pots should arrive anyday too and i'm hopefully gonna get to shops tomorrow to stock up on sweets, vodka and truffle ingredients :)

I have got plain cardboard boxes, wrapped them in ncie xmas paper, put tissue paper in the bottom and then gift wrapped in cellophane with a box and tassles with everything inside. I make all the bows myself, I like doing it all from scratch

For anyone looking chocolate coins for pots of gold, Tesco have 400g nets for £3.50 or 2 for £4.
I got 2 nets last night and had 92 coins. This more than filled my kilner jars for the BILs pressies!

I made a pot of gold the other day after seeing this thread. I filled the majority of it with toffees tho (in a clear wrapper) and I added one bag of choc coins. The toffee was just sainsburys own and they cost me 20p for the bag :happydance: I love the way its turned out so thanks for the idea!!!

Also ASDA sell a pack of 3 jar's with the catch on the lid for £3.75 (although they were only £3 the other week!!!) Also IKEA do them really cheap x

I got some mini jam jars from ebay which I'm using to make small pots of gold (5 squid for 5 and free postage)

Got candy canes for snowman soup and going to 99p shop tomorrow to look for marshmellows and cocoa powder

^^ asda smart price hot choclate is the niceest hot choclate ive had for ages and its less than a pound a jar. x

Yep, I got some just to see if it was even halfway decent and honestly, I like it better than any of the "big" brand names.

i need some help ladies i want to make some homemade gifts but i know NOTHINK
please help amd teach me the ways!! :D

Oh my! I am so excited. I got so many ideas now.

Last year I did
Fruity Christmas Biscotti

Apple and Cranberry Chutney I would read the comments before making it, does make a different to modifying the recipe.

Fragrant spicy mango and apple chutney

Melt in the middle truffles I did these for someone's birthday....

anythink :) (probs start off pretty basic though) anythink i can give as gifts the salts sounded like i good idea but have no idea..

Bath salts are about the most simple thing ever. Coarse sea Salt, couple of drops of essential oil. If you want colour, few drops of food colour or if you want sparkle, mica powder. Mix it all up and stick it in a jar!

Woohoo! I've finished five pots of gold other than putting the scratch cards in (gonna save buying them til beginning of dec). I'm gonna make another five now I know the pots are the right size and so on then I'll have done ten and at a cost of approx £25 all in so that's not bad at £2.50 a present

Will post pics later hopefully as on phone whilst feeding the mini one at mo

I got "Happy Christmas" Scratch cards for my pots of gold today!

is this right? 1kg Coarse 100% Pure Dead Sea Bath Salt, epsom
