duchess of cambridge is pregnant [merged]

I feel so sorry for her. She is going to be harassed every single day of her pregnancy and not a single secret of it is going to be a secret. I guess she realizes what she has signed up to but I personally couldn't deal with that.

Very true, I bet she's gutted the media have found out this early

everyone keeps saying it is "acute" morning sickness, I think they need to all say the same thing.

She will be hassled loads and wont even be able to cough lol BUT she will be getting the best of the best care and I am a bit jealous of that :) I cant wait to see what a gorgeous bubba they produce :)

Aww hope they call her Elizabeth if it's a girl -my names Elizabeth Anne :D

I'm surprised at a woman on here being so ignorant about severe nausea and vomiting in pregnancy. The condition is called Hyperemesis and it's very real and very awful. I've suffered it myself with both my pregnancies and it's not 'just a bit of morning sickness' it's an illness that can affect any woman during their pregnancy particularly the first trimester. It can cause severe dehydration and malnutrition due to the fact you are unable to keep anything down. The Duchess is obviously being fed intravenously hence why she is in hospital. She will be suffering terribly. You are lucky you have suffered from it and I hope you never do.

I think this is a little harsh. I had never heard of Hyperemesis before I joined this site and I had already had four children. Some women on here dont go on the trimester boards so how would they know any more than someone who isnt on this site?

i agree, plus the poster had already edited her post and said she didnt realise it could be so severe so no idea why you took such offense :s

It has.......and apparently she's in hospital with morning sickness  i'm no pregnancy expert but all the ladies on here manage with a touch of morning sickness without a 'stay in hospital' ......

OH :S is she actually ill? I've never heard of morning sickness being that severe before..... shows how much I know

Did you mean to be so rude??
TwilightAgain said afterwards that she didnt realise it could be so bad (of which you quoted) no need to call her ignorant!!

Im very happy for them. Hopw all goes well. If its a girl I think she will be called Elizabeth.

Yea she'll be in hospital for the slightest thing. Only to be expected. Really hope all goes well!

Some are saying 'acute morning sickness', until I read the actual St James Palace announcement I thought 'oh it's just a bad case of morning sickness' but then saw on SJP announcement that it was hypermedia. Maybe TwilightAgain did similar? Xx

Fab news :) great to see announcement for the royal baby :)

Lovely news, congrats to them both & I hope she starts feeling better, I know the pain of hyperemesis and wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy.

I feel sick for her. Its hard enough those first 12 weeks, fraught with worries of making it to the 12 week scan and the tiredness and MS without the whole wide world on your case about it. I loved how it said she will need some rest after her stay in hospital. The rest of us have to go to work and get on with it, running off to the toilet to be sick and wretch our guts up but we still have to go and carry on! Just a thought, i really like her and wills and am made up for them and really pleased and cant wait to see the heir to the throne. I just feel so sorry that shes had to announce it in what is such a worrying and difficult trimester (was for me anyway).

Maybe she didnt have it when she was playing hockey. And some women who have HG have to rest cos they literally cant make it out the house, I dont think that is too unusual.

I think it's lovely news, really like the two of them! Crazy to think baby is already third to the throne before it is even born!

Shes stolen my lime light and I havnt even told any one yet , so I guess she will steal my lime light at birth to. paah!

I am a fan of hers anyway, we could totally be bump buddies.

Congratulations :flower:

What happens if they have twins...who gets the throne?

I imagine which ever was born first, but then if one where a girl and one a boy thn probably the boy.

Ahhh I'm so excited :):):)my oh is like so what.. But I'm like that is the future king or queen!!

but as off this baby they changing the law that who ever is born first regardless of sex will get the throne...but for the sake of like a minute of two depends who gets the throne....can you imagine the rivarly??
