what Elf do you have? Going to get one for my little menace this year and there are so many to choose from

We have the original elf, I love his cute little face! They're very poorly made though, I wouldn't have paid that if I'd seen it in person beforehand I don't think. Especially after I found out Lucas' favourite elf was the crappy little homemade one I did the year before! :dohh:

We have the ikea elf and I love him, he's really cool looking and a total bargain at £4.

Ah he's cute! Cant wait til we have a lo to be able to join in this tradition - do you think i could convince hubby it was a real elf sent to spy on us :haha:

We got ours from Christmas elf on Facebook - think there is a website now as well. Its great has velcro on the hands so can put in various places / poses. Can't wait to start thinking of things for him to do this year. My little boy was only 18 months last year but loved looking for the elf every morning.

We got the traditional elf, I'd seen so many fun ideas with him that nothing else would do! As a pp said he's not particularly well made, but his box and the book with him is nice :flower:

The more I think about it the more I want to try a "kindness elf" approach with my daughters.

That is so lovely!! I think the idea is brilliant taking all the positive and none of the potential negitives!

I love the kindness elf idea! Might need to try that out.

I love this idea. We do elf on the shelf but he doesn't do naughty things and he is not "watching" or reporting back to Santa he is a friend who comes to spend the holidays with us and brings the advent books. Generally he is to be found driving toy buses with a book in the back etc. This year though I think I will incorporate some of the kindness type ideas he already brings activities for my little one to do with daddy whilst I'm at work - some if which are gifts for neighbours.

We have the Gund elf

We did a little bit of this with our elf last year ie put a present on the wishing tree, elf wants us to donate some toys to charity shop, elf wants us to do paint something nice and xmassy for granny today. We still did a few of the silly elf things, I think a mixture works best for us. Although just reading that link I didn't realise that with the original elf you aren't meant to touch him. DD hugged ours senseless every morning:haha:
