Elf on the Shelf

I found the elves creepy as well but we did our own version with our tree decorations.
We have some cute animal decorations and a few nights in December they came to life to have tea parties, read books or eat sweets. I made a flour trail of mini foootprints from where they had all walked from the tree to their destination.
Great fun for me, lol.

This is what our animals got up to and the kids were delighted to find them having a tea party, Hubby not so much.

We also made elf donuts (cheerios with melted choc and sprinkles) decorated the toilet, had him sat in choc tin surrounded by wrappers. Can't remember much more

We have an elf, not the traditional one, ours is a soft plush one and DD adores him. We don't follow the rules either as DD can play with him and take him to bed with her; after all he is there to hang out and have fun with her. He brings her advent calendar on the 1st December and some additional treats during the month like xmas books or craft things. He leaves on Xmas eve night with santa. Ours doesn't really do much but we do a few days of him getting up to mischief which DD finds hilarious.
