Endometriosis & Laparoscopy

How is everybody today? I am still waiting for my peroid to start, so I don't have to reschedual my surgery anymore.

Hey CantHrdlyWait, it is good to have you here. I hope you find answers to your questions, just like I have done. Girls here are great, and have given me great support. And to answer your question, I will say that it is better if you go to see a doctor as soon as possible, because even you are not trying to concieve right now, you will soon and it would be better for you if you already have checked yourself and made sure that you have the green light to go. Also from what I understand you are in pain, so this is another reason to see a doctor. I always have had painfull periods, but besides taking painkillers I never did anything else to find the reason for the pain and treat it, untill I found out that to become pregnant for me is a problem. I really hope it is not too late now. So my advice for you is to go and talk to a specialist soon. Good luck.:hugs:

hey ladies.. i've not posted on this thread before but i'm worried that I may have endo (or something) just wanted to get some advice! I'm on CD2.. tonight I started getting severe pain in what feels to be my ovary or left side of my uterus. Any movement/standing/stretching/walking makes it hurts worse. I am very nauseated! This is not a new thing. I often have pain when going #2 (the pain is in the same place), constant lower back pain, strange period's that have been getting shorter. Other times (usually always at ovulation or period) I have problems with this side. Recently, I've started having pain during sex too. I asked my mom if i should make an appointment. She thinks it's just cysts and to hold off. She had a hysterectomy in her 30's due to fibroids, and now is having cysts and they want to remove her ovaries. We also have ovarian cancer in our family...
do you think I should wait until my next gyno appointment (in july) or make an appointment sooner? I REALLY want to have kids, so I hate to wait if I have some sort of problem!

I would absolutely make an appointment now...... what your describing could be so many different things. Don't wait when it comes to your health, especially if you want babies. Please don't wait unitl July. :flower:

the pain is awful!! I'm calling on monday!!!

thanks so much for the reply!! Ive always assumed these pains are normal, but I don't think they are :( and its been getting worse. I'm going to call on monday!thanks for the reply!!:hugs:

CantHrdlyWait, I would definitely make an appointment and get yourself checked. Pain is your body's way of telling you that something is wrong. It's better to be safe than sorry, in my opinion. :) I ALWAYS get pain on my left side, and it turns out that the pain was caused by PCOS. Please keep us updated with your results. :flower:

Hi CantHrdlyWait! Hope you get the answers that you need and that all is ok. If not, hope it isn't serious. It's always better to get things checked out as soon as possible x

Thank you everyone! My OH gave me a TTC month of May next year... so I need to make sure everything is okay inside my body! I am calling the doctor's tomorrow. I will keep everyone updated! Thanks so much!!

So...... I am going for my post op appointment tomorrow. Keeping my fingers crossed that the Dr. gives me good news and hope, not disappointment. Oh, and that he actually spends some time with me and answers my questions. Considering he never called me back about my issues. :xmas9:

Good idea, you will feel so much better after you get checked out.

I have an appointment tomorrow with the Gyno at 10:30. I have no idea what to expect, or what they may do this first appointment. But i'm glad to be on my to figuring this pain and discomfort out!

Well, I went to my GYN today about the horrible period pains I’ve been having along with not being able to go #2 while on my period, and sex being painful. They did a regular pelvic exam, and then did an internal sonogram which took about 20 minutes. the doctor (not my normal doc) said that I had some fluid around my ovary and that it was probably a cyst that burst. All she did was suggest physical therapy or take birth control. That’s it. Then I look online about endometriosis (because I have all symptoms) and it says that a sonogram is not an effective way to even diagnose it! Don’t get me wrong.. I DON’T want Endo, but I don’t feel like this was correct. I guess I’ll see if it persists and go back and see my normal doctor. I am in so much pain now =(

Hey everybody! how is everyone today? i feel a little down today. I got my period yesterday, which means I am not PG and I definitely am going to have the lap on Christmas Eve. After all I should have not put too much thoughts into getting a bfp right before the surgery, because now I am so so disappointed. What was I thinking? We have been trying to get PG for three years and never been even close to it. Now all I hope is to get over my fears and do the surgery. I am trying to stay positive as much as I can, but girls, sometimes I feel like my only dream will never come true.

I'm surprised she told you that. Not to scare you.... at all, but that could totally be endo on your ovary ( endo. can cause blood filled cysts). And you are right about the sonogram. The ONLY way to know if you have endo is to have a lap. Sometimes you really have to push the endo thing though. My RE ignored my repeated attempts at telling him about my pain and at first my gyno. told me that she hoped it would just go away after I got pregnant! So if you think that you have something more than a cyst, I would tell your dr. how you feel. The bc probably would help with the pain if it is endo but obviously you can't get pregnant that way! :hugs:

I was really hoping to get a bfp right before my surgery too but that didn't happen for me either. You are going to be so relieved after getting the surgery over with. If you get scared, just tell yourself that you will have to go through this whole surgery thing over and over again until you get it done. Just rip the band-aid off and do it lol. Thats what I told myself anyway. :hugs:

Thanks for the support Amelia. It just has been very long time since we started TTC and as every month passes I am losing more and more hope. We have tried IUI, clomid, timed intercourse, but so far nothing have worked. The worst part is that even after the surgery my chances to conceive increase, my dh's semen quality is very poor. Amelia hon, how your doctor's appointment went? How are your incisions healing?

Dr. said the biopsy came back and it was endo, for sure. Not that I wanted to hear that I had endo but at least he got rid of it and it was only a little bit. He said my pain was normal due to removing the endo... incisions look great. What is wrong with your dh's semen. Is it morphology or low count? Has he tried any supplements?

I am very happy for you Amelia. The news you got from your doctor sound promising. I hope you get your BFP soon, since there is no more evil endo. My hubby's analysis aren't very good. The count is very low about 15-16million pre-wash, and 1,5-5 million post-wash. The motility is in the 40-50%, and morhology is 7-9%. That is why we tried couple of IUIs in the summer. He was scheduled for a varicocel repair, but his surgery interfered whit mine, so it was canceled. He has been taking regular vitamins for quite some time, but it seems they are not helping for now. We decided to proceed with my surgery first, because besides not able to get PG, I am in pain, so I couldn't postpone it any more. Our plans after the surgery are:try few natural cycles, than another IUI, and if it doesn't work then IVF (don't want to go there). I do not want him to get this surgery. It is nothing major, just like the lap, but doctors don't promise that his numbers will go up after the surgery. They say that it takes about a year for the sperm to improve if so. And we have waited enough. May be if I get pregnant after the lap, DH will do his surgery so we will have better chances for baby #2.

Thank you so much for your honest answer! I just don't feel like we resolved anything. She thinks that it has something to do with my back muscles and that's why she wants me to do physical therapy! HUH? What does that have to do with going to the bathroom, and painful sex? I really have no faith in the medical field AT ALL.

Good luck with your lap , Sikis! It will go well and hopefully you will get a BFP soon after x

I am still waiting to hear when my surgery is scheduled for. I really hope it is in Jan as I want to get on with my life and plan my next move. All this waiting and putting things on hold is doing my head in ...

Hey ladies, how are you today? This morning I went to meet my new sergon. She seemed very nice even though she is very young, about our age. This sressed me out for a little bit, but once I got to talk to here, she seemed to know her job very well, so I left her office feeling confident. So far my surgery is on Monday. The doctor told me that if the endo is severe she won't remove it. I did not understand why, but I told her to do the best to remove as much as possible. I am still very scared about the procedure, but I have been trying to not show it. Tannielicious, thanks hon for the support. How are you feeling today? Do you have a schedualed surgery day? I have been reading your journal and your story feels very close to mine. I really hope you find some answers soon, because I know how difficult is month after month to not know what is wrong with you or your partner. Baby dust to all of you ladies.

Thanks for reading my journal Sikis! No, I have no date scheduled as of yet but we want to get it done as soon as we can. So tired of waiting for answers and now that I am not working, it would be so ideal to have a family x

I am glad you got to meet your surgeon.I think it is important to meet the person who is going to open you up and be prodding around. I really hope it goes well for you. x
