Today is my daughter's 4th birthday, and also the first time she has spent her entire birthday at her dad's. We live 3 hours apart and i didn't want her to travel on her bday, but it was really his turn to have her (she's either been just with me or seen him for part of the day every other bday) so she's there.

And i'm miserable! I have spent christmas apart from her but there's something about her birthday, her special day, the day that i gave birth to her, that i'm really struggling with not seeing her. I am going to call her later but i'm worried i'm going to just blub on the phone and upset her.

Anyone else spent their lo birthday away from th? Was it hard? How did you manage? I know it's just a day and we're throwing her a party next weekend but i still feel sad and a bit lost.

FOB told me he'd call an hour and a half ago, then said he just needed to drive to his mum's house, that was an hour ago. Just want to wish my baby a happy birthday :(

Hope you got to speak to her. Couldn't imagine not seeing Isabella on her birthday :( xz

I'm sorry I have never been in this position, I always arrange the party and FOB turn up and help out so he too can be apart of it all.

Thanks. i did get to talk to her and she is back home with me now :) not letting her back for her birthday in a hurry!

Aw that sounds so horrible, id hate to not see my LO on his birthday but FOB only lives round the corner from me so we can easily share... Glad you got to speak to her :)
