first cycle actively trying (June 2015)

They said if I'm worried about ectopic to go to the ER that they won't do anything for me. I guess the location I made the appointment with didn't know that or something. Idk.

Well then, I vote go to the ER! Around me they just send you a bill, no upfront payment. The suspense is torture!! And ER loves to do every test/scan possible to cover themselves - it actually sounds like a great idea!

I can't make it there for awhile. ER takes FOREVER and because I'm not a true emergency I'll get continually pushed back as people come in. My insurance switches on Monday so I'm not sure which one would be better to use lol. I know last time I was there I got charged 150 for the consult. I had an infected tooth and needed a perscription for antibiotics. So basically the doctor came in, said yup your right its infected, heres a perscription. And that cost nme 150. I cant imagine what an actual test will be. My new insurance covers ER in full but only if it's a true emergency which it wouldn't be unless I actually had a ruptured tube or something. And I can't even find anything on if any hospitals around here have an early pregnancy unit. Ugh. So torn on what to do. I can't believe they let me make an appointment then call the day before to cancel. They knew the problem the whole time.

Ahh, I see. I'm so sorry, that does put you in a bad spot.. I honestly don't know what I would do either. I guess wait for all to be finalized with the new insurance and find a new GP or OBGYN. Whatever you do, I hope you get the best outcome possible and all your worries get put at ease for a while. <3

Gina - Oh man, that sucks so much, and so badly handled by them :( I'm trying to remember everything that happened without going back over the thread (my memory seriously sucks), but am I right in thinking you got your BFP a while back, had some cramping and a bit of bleeding, and now no bleeding or cramping but testing says BFN?

BabyForIris - welcome! I'm new too! Aaaand, a little bit freaky, but I'm over 30 (well, 30), been married similar amount of time as you (just over 1.5 years), live in Toronto and just started our first cycle of TTC (well, it ended literally yesterday).

Valethria - totally seeing baby stuff everywhere, and it's definitely bittersweet. Having said that, a friend of mine just had a baby last week and the poor thing is feeling really overwhelmed by the change from being pregnant to suddenly having a newborn to take care of, and I must admit when I thought about how (understandably) scary that must be, I felt a little better about having to wait to experience that.

It's okay jez it's been a rollercoaster. So basically I thought I had a chemical as I bled for 2 days after a very faint bfp. Then tested 4 days later, actual bfp. Tested another 4 days later, bfn. And then 3 days later bfp. All others have been super faint lines. I've read that late bfps or ones that come and go are a sign of ectopic so I've been worried about that but not sure what's going on.

Ah, okay, I see. So since your last BFP, nothing untoward has happened as far as I understand. Is there always intense pain associated with ectopics, or not necessarily? I feel like if something went that wrong, it would be quite excruciating. Definitely better to be safe than sorry, but it sounds like things are most likely just fine :)

From what I have read some women don't have any pain until the tube ruptures. I was trying to get a test done to fix the problem before it becomes an emergency surgery. But at this point I guess I wait until I am in lots of pain. I was told about this site that you can order blood tests without a doctor's order so I might do that to see what my hcg is at to at least know that the positive tests weren't false positives but just have to find time to as they are only open while I am at work.

Gina - how are you today?

I bought a BBT thermometer yesterday that should deliver tomorrow. Quite excited about starting to use that and OPKs. I will have to read up on where to actually put the thermometer. I always used to take my general temperature via my armpit, but apparently it's better to take it in your mouth? Anyway, now I just wish AF would stop being so uncharacteristically painful and be over and done with.

I'm alright today. Same old song and dance lol. As far as the bbt thermometer you can either do it orally under your tongue or temp vaginally. I actually temp vaginally as it's alot more accurate because things like breathing through your mouth one night or something will throw off an oral temp. But either way will work you just want to make sure whichever you chose you stick with it the whole cycle. My vaginal temp is about a degree or two higher than my oral temp. So switching would really throw it off. Most important thing is to take it at the same time every day as soon as you wake up. Don't sit up, talk, or move other than grabbing the thermometer lol. I thought it would stress me out so I didn't for awhile but now I actually like it. Good luck! :)

Oh man... I did think I'd seen someone mention temping vaginally, so in my original post I'd initially alluded to that (along the lines of "I always put it in my armpit but from what I read, it's supposed to be stuck somewhere quite different [blush]) and then went on to tell a somewhat related story about how I thought my GP today was asking to see my vagina when really she just wanted to palpate my abdomen (very embarrassing, esp. given that she was just looking for UTI-related pain). But then I googled BBT-taking and saw one site recommended testing in the mouth, so I assumed I must have embarrassingly misunderstood the vagina insertion location, so I removed both that reference and the other vagina story from my post. Like a real winner.

Just checking in on you and thinking of you, Gina! Wishing you the best <3

Jezika, I use oral BBT. I haven't tried vaginal temps yet but this was my first cycle doing it. I love it! I've had two temps I didn't quite catch, might've been sleep disturbance (you need at least a solid 3hour block of sleep I've read.) or alcohol consumption (both from Saturday night into Sunday)... I've read vaginal is more accurate, so like Gina said whichever you choose just stick to one way of doing it. Its pretty cool to see it work! And confirm O of course.

AFM, AF should be here in 4-6 days. Hoping she comes on time and I am still on track. I totally missed my fertile window this month but honestly I'm relieved. Having the laparoscopy done 02/12 I didn't want any questionable pregnancy status. And I'm strangely excited to have it done and start Clomid. I really think I'm going to respond well to the Clomid (judging from my lab work, amh level, RE's positivity and whatnot) so I really am positive for Feb/march. Trying not to get my hopes up.

TTC is so bittersweet. I can't wait to just be pregnant. I know that opens up 100x more worries, but at least I'll know it can happen for me.

Really hope clomid works for you hun! I've heard such great things about it. I totally get what you mean by not wanting to be possibly pregnant for the procedure. That would not be good.

Guys look at my chart.. it totally looks like I ovulated again.. I talked to my mom last night and she said that's actually possible. Her best friends growing up were twins that were conceived a month apart  I never thought that was possible. Now I'm wondering if that's what happened and look at our bd timing! Same as last month! ](*,) haha.

Exhaustion has hit in full force. The past few weeks by 8 pm I'm ready for bed but the past 2 days I've been getting my normal amount of sleep but feeling exhausted all day. Can't wait to sleep in tomorrow! Hope you ladies are doing well!! :flower:

OMG fertile I am so happy for you!!!! Congrats girl!! Can't wait to see the test! Happy and healthy 9 months hun! :hugs: we get to be bump buddies!! ;)

Gina, turns out we might be bump buddies after all!! Got a faint but clear and pink beautiful positive this morning at 16-17dpo on a IC hpt. DH was home and confirmed it.
:)

Ahh such a rollercoaster! Really hope this is it for you!! Take a FRER!!! :happydance:

Fertile!!! I have my everything crossed that this is it for you!

Gina, I almost picked one up, but I'm terrified of getting a bfn. Because it's so late I'm concerned it might not be a sticky wee baby. :/ I also started to bleed darker red in the last hour and more abundant. Before it was dark brown with the slightest hint of pink here and there. Now it's getting more dark red.

I held my pee for 7 hrs before I got the positive. Not sure how I'll manage that again until tomorrow morning.
How are you feeling, Gina? You didn't get your bfp until 20dpo, right? But you also didn't bleed?

Leson, thank you, lucky lady!! How's things progressing for you?
