Hi girls

I am a Gestational Surrogate (GS).
This fall I will start the medical aspect of my journey. (We are hoping to be matched real soon )
I have never gone through IVF. This baby will not be my biolgical own whatsoever. :nope: the Intended Parents (IPs) already have frozen embies. We are hoping for a Nov. transfer.

Anyways, i would love a few IVF buddies.
I know not many here are actually GS and are doing this for their own baby. (which is totally fine! :D) But at least our journey will be medically similar (only as far as the IVF and such goes, that is). Id love to make a friend or two for this journey, reguardless of your background or IVF reasoning <3

Hi there! I just got back from my doctor's appointment and it looks like I'll be starting my first ever ivf cycle on Sept 9. I know that's still a little ahead of you but it would definitely be nice to have another person new to this to go through it with.

That's totally fine :) would love to have Ya as a friend through this.

Got word yesterday, if we are matched w the IPs we are meeting Sept 13th, we will likely have a late October transfer

Are you on meds yet?

As long as insurance approves everything I should start birth control Monday then meds on the 19th so I guess that would actually put the ivf part into October for me as well. Everything is still such a blur from my appointment I could be wrong though. I definitely didn't expect for it to go from taking femara and doing timed intercourse to ivf at all. It's exciting and scary and amazing and crazy all at once. Especially since I'm trying not to tell my family (other than my mom who can get anything out of me) that we've gotten to this stage.

Hey ladies! We are getting ready to start IVF... Just finishing up my period so hoping all the financing goes through and we should start the cycle around Sept 18th.... It's a lot to take in, and we are sort of really just starting with this ivf stuff.
We've been ttc for over a year and went to a specialist end of July. My HSG came back that both tubes are blocked, and hubby's SA showed 1% morphology... We've had previous SA's so we expected that, but my tubes being blocked was a big shock! They have also already started me on synthroid, as my thyroid came back at 6.9 and when ttc they like it to be at 2-2.5. And they put my husband on some daily supplements to boost his little swimmers... So really this next month we will be figuring out the finance situation and hopefully be able start this process around September 18th when next cycle is due. I'm definitely looking for some girls to share this journey with... It's scary!! Already and I feel like the worst/best is yet to come.

Holly- is this your 1st child your ttc?
Guppy- I give your huge props in what you are doing for these families!!!

Yeah, this is trying for our first. I'm the only one in my family that has ever had issues with it too so that's always fun conversations. Is it your first?

This is our first! And same, I'm the only one in my family who has problems! It's awful! And my sister and I aren't super close so with this she's asking a million questions, and I really don't care to share it ALL step by step with her.... They have sex once and she's pregnant!

Uggghhhh that's how my friend was too! She knows what we're going through wroth trying and everything and told me that they were going to start trying. I had to go through two weeks of her saying how she didn't think it worked that first month and how miserable she was going to be if she got a negative test... she's now due in about two dang weeks.

Omg that's awful!!! I mean... Good for her! But awful for you!!! I'm dreading my sister getting pregnant again, I know that's bad but I won't be surprised if she's pregnant before me. :/

Hello Ladies :flower:

I'm trying DE IVF for the first time in the Fall. I don't have an exact date. We're still going through financing and have a few tests remaining i.e. hysteroscopy and bloodwork. I'm excited and nervous at the same time. Don't know what to expect and can't talk to anyone about it, as they have no freakin clue what it's like to be infertile.

I'm 42 with DOR, right ovary showing 3-4 follicles, left ovary not visible and AMH 0.03!! My partner is 34 and has Normal swimmers :spermy: The problem lies with me and my "crappy old eggs"!!

I've been looking through the donor profiles at my clinic (in house ovum donor program) and have narrowed it down to 2 profiles. Just waiting on their cycle availablity in order to make my final decision. Don't know how long this process takes, but if all goes well... I should be doing a fresh transfer sometime in October/November.

I'd love to have an IVF BUDDY or BUDDIES, too!! :friends: I have no idea what's in store for me, but I'm ready for the TTC journey.

Sending lots of sticky :dust: to all you ttc ladies out there!!

Hey Ladies!

Mind if I join in? Just started my first IVF cycle this week, CD2 Ultrasound scan today, and starting stims tomorrow. Super stressed but excited by it all at the same time! Would love to have people to chat with about the whole process :)

A little about me: I'm 32, DH is 31. We just got married last month, but have been together about 8 years, and were TTC for about a year and a half before the wedding. Finally decided to get our butts to a fertility clinic to be tested, and sure enough they found out what our issue is. Hubby has azoospermia, due to being a premie and having undescended testicles when he was born. Therefore, we're going to try TESA, and have a donor on backup in case they don't find any viable swimmers. They also found 2 polyps in my uterus, which they removed, so all in all this last month has been pretty crazy.
Now, here we are, starting injections tomorrow, so I'm thinking this month will be even crazier!!

Has anyone else started their cycle yet? If not, I don't mind being the guinea pig and letting you all know how it goes.

Nice to meet you all!

The more the merrier here! I take my last birth control pill tonight and then I'll be starting all the fun injections and such Saturday. They're looking to do a retrieval somewhere in the week of the 28th. Since they only do frozen transfers I'm not sure on a date for that though. I'm secretly hoping it's on/super close to the 13th though since that's our anniversary and would give me a good excuse to not be at work without everyone along questions. We originally told a few people that we were going through the process and then that it was put on hold (it legitimately was) when we found out how much insurance wouldn't cover. We came up with the out of pocket amount to give us this one chance and I'm afraid to tell anyone now.

Holly, I hear ya, we haven't told anyone other than immediate family, and one of my close friends.
My retrieval is also scheduled for that week, but I think it'll be the Monday or Tuesday. Only time will tell!
Bought the meds today, and can not believe how expensive they are! Was definitely not expecting that, and I'm hoping my insurance covers part of them at least.

Boopin: TOTALLY get you on the fact that people around just do not get it. 2 of my cousins just gave birth to their 2nd kids, and the both of them literally just had to THINK about getting pregnant and they were.

I'm trying to stay as relaxed as possible, but it's definitely hard! Anyone have any stress reducing techniques that work for them? I'm hoping that chatting with other ladies going through the same thing will help :p

I expected the meds to be expensive, but I also foolishly expected insurance to pay for them all since they dictated the only pharmacy I could use to get them. Oh well though, at least we're all getting a chance.

The only thing I've done so far too hopefully reduce the stress is make a calendar that I'll put what medicine/dosage to take each day on. That way I only have to worry about one day at a time. I also scheduled an ice cream and movie date with my mom for the day injections start since they make me suuuuuper nervous. Maybe I'll splurge and get an adult coloring book to have at least a little distraction once a day.

Hi Amanda and Hi Holly

I'm going tomorrow for my nurse coordinator appointment. I've chosen a donor and I hope to get things started SOON. I'm excited and hopeful!! I get one fresh and one frozen transfer with my plan. Keeping my fx that my young donor (she's 23) will have lots of eggs!! :happydance:

Fingers crossed for you Boopin'!! Let us know how it goes! We have to choose a donor too, for back up in case they don't find any swimmers when the do DH's TESA. Quite a daunting process, finding it hard to make that choice!

Good call on the ice cream date! Very smart :)

How's it going for everyone? I just did day three of my shots and finally found a spot that didn't make me want to punch my husband for hurting me with the pokes. :) Follow up appointment tomorrow to see how I'm progressing on this dose or if it needs to be tweaked.

Good luck to everyone as you progress through this as well!

Hey all! I'm stalking this page!! Hubby and I have decided to wait to start IVF in January, we want to get the stressful time outta the way, in-laws coming to visit, the holidays and we wanna get a vacation in since that won't happen once we start all this! I'm enjoying reading how you girls are doing, it puts me a little more at ease! I'm so nervous to do the injections! My husband already said he won't do it to me I'll have to do hem myself!!

Hi MH!

Welcome :) good call on waiting until after the holidays. Stalk away!

AFM, went in for my first scan yesterday, and everything seems to be progressing well, already had one follicle over 14mm, which apparently is good. They kept my meds the same, and I'm due to go back in for scan #2 early tomorrow morning. Will see what that brings! Kinda nervous, as this all seems too real to be true if that makes any sense.

Holly, lucky you having hubby do the shots! DH was gonna do mine, but I have to do my morning one after he goes to work, so figured I might as well do the evening one myself too. It's really not so bad (day7 for me now), but I'll be happy when it's over.

Boopin, any updates?
