for our rainbow groups catch up Xx

Bethany, I hope the move to New Mexico went well. Hopefully u can give us an update when all of u are nice and settled. Fix Lorelei was just fine during the move. Big hugs!

I got incredibly sad news to share with u ladies. A couple days ago my daughter brought out a picture of her and her best friend from grade school, sweet little girl. Ironically, a couple days later I saw her picture on the nightly news. Apparently her (step)father stabbed her mother to death in front of her and her siblings (all 8 of them).I also knew her mother and talked to her right before they moved out of California (they eventually moved to Arizona). Never ever did I imagine to see someone I knew on the news and she was killed so savagely.
That poor woman , she was so sweet and I hope that monster pays for what he did. Still in complete shock and disbelief.

OMG Jess that is terrible! Do you know what possessed him to do that? I don't get how someone can do something so horrific like that. That just gave me the chills. My thoughts are prayers are with them. :(

That's so sad Jess...there are some real lunatics out there! Just awful!

Laura, Amy, Bethany

Leslie ~ What beauties your girls are!

A1983 ~ Hope this finds you well.

So I won the car battle, traded my 2013 X5 for the 2015 with a 3rd row. It's nice because the seats fold into the floorboard not affecting cargo space  You have to be short to fit back there though (Max recommended height is 5'4"). As for more LO's, not likely...DH said the extra seats are to make it easier to get around when his sister visits *whomp whomp* It's a lovely car...It'll prob just be me and P putting around in it---Speaking of...we just turned P's car seat to forward facing. I know they say 2yo but his legs were getting cramped (and my seats mucked up during rain), he seems much happier forward facing! Have any of you turned them yet?

I'm so sorry im being so quiet! I have been reading where I can-just been very busy with work/toddler/life! All good this end :-)

Yes N has been forward facing since one year old! But she has very long legs so needed to. Some people even drive with them up front which must be nice!

Angel, I was going to turn Sophie's seat forward facing until researching why the rear facing recommendations are until at least age 2. There seems to be compelling evidence to keep our los rear facing. Babycenter has some good articles that cite research and statistics. Sophie is also very tall and has super long legs but since I am super paranoid of us getting into an accident (we have had many close calls thanks to crazy California drivers) I'm going rear face her until age 2 or 3. She's already about 36.5 inches but her rear facing seat can be used for a good while longer. She has the Chicco Nextfit. Not telling u what to do of course, just giving u my perspective. I know u always do what's best for Pierce. BTW, nice ride u got there! I still hope your dh might have a change of heart on having another lo. Maybe he just needs a little bit more gentle persuasion from u. :wink

Thank you for your car seat input ladies. I called the pediatrician and she said it'd be fine to turn him due to his weight & height. I understand your fears and can see where the articles are coming from Jess. I guess it's what parents are most comfortable with. No one can predict an accident, so you do what you feel is best for your family :flower: How did your follow up with the Dr go? Are you feeling ok?

A1983 ~ thanks for popping in! I didn't know you were balancing work and a LO...how much maternity leave do you all get there?

Laura ~ Guess it's a good thing the swab came back clean, but I've heard UTIs can be terribly painful!

Amy ~ grow little eggys, grow!

Bethany ~ Got internet? iThings must be going through wifi withdraws!

S has been forward facing for ages.
He is too big and tall for other ones
He sits in passenger seat (in car seat obvs)
Beside me.
I like him being my side kick :-D
My car only Haas 2 doors,
I've looked into it and lots say front is safer.
The car frame is supposedly stronger in front
Aand most accidents ur hit from behind
Also if u do crash u can grab them from beside u to exit
I've a Bro always trying to convince me otherwise :-D
Everyone makes their own choices xxx

Forgot to say no airbag
Cos it could suffocate them

Angel, I think that the differing advice from our peds has something to do with where we live. Because over here peds are pretty uptight and judgmental (way too progressive around here), and incredibly strict on safety and everything else under the sun. When a doc found out Sophia was drinking 2.5 cups of milk instead of 2 cups a day they told me I was making her obese. BTW, both Aly and Natalie were front facing at 1 year. I know u do what's best for Pierce, I figure we are all here to help eachother and take whatever advice we feel helps us hon. I'm glad u called Pierce's ped. How's he doing lately, anything new?

Laura, Simon must have fun driving in the front with u. How is he doing? How is physio going?

Ladies, do u ever have difficulty finding shoes that fit your los correctly? Its been a struggle finding the right shoes for Sophia because she has a high instep but extremely skinny heels. And why do sizes from different brands differ so much?

My lo has chunky wide feet so if I don't go to sspecialist baby shoe shops it's hard. High Street shops have cute shoes but I can't get those chubbas into them! Although now summer shoes are coming in it seems easier. I do worry if im not getting the proper baby shop shoes *clarkes* im doing an injustice to her growing feet? Just bought her some gold patent sandles yesterday - high street - so cute!

I don't drive far, so less of a concern for me. And no near misses touch wood!

Not on mat leave atm Angel, it's good here though, im working my normal hours then have lo when not working. Like many ppl im sure, we don't have any family nearby and I don't have parents now so it's just me and oh and no support for 'essential us/me time'!!

A1983, Are High street shoes sold in the uk? I havent heard of them and I live in the states. But I have noticed European shoes to be of far better quality than the shoes that I find here in the states. As for Clarks my daughter is around an 8e, but i can tell she doesnt find them comfy so therefore I cant buy them. Too bad because they are pretty well made shoe. I never had this much difficulty finding shoes to fit my 2 older girls (ages 9 and 15).

Got home very late tonight and people here were driving like maniacs. So happy to be home. Hope u ladies have a blessed weekend. :hugs:

Laura, Simon must have fun driving in the front with u. How is he doing? How is physio going?

He is good but still quite a few fits so he is having eeg again on tues.
On 5 th med raise over last month
It's affecting him but not as badly as before.
Physio is good, just working on standing and strengthening

Shoes are weird here cos of afos
I hve to buy them and desole and cut them to fit over
But we can buy cheaper ones cos afo provides the support

Not much new here.
I got a bike nd Bike seat for s on the back
He loves it

Love to all xxx

High street shoes aren't a brand Jess.
The high street is a name for the department stores.

A1983 I'm sure ur los feet will be fine. X
If anything like my man the shoes are off half the time

Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend and Easter! :bunny: (I feel kinda wrong using that bunny for an Easter post since we also use it for gettin' busy" lol
