Sounds pretty decent, low 20s. I swear it must have been 35º here today. I felt like we walked across the Sahara, came back panting and miserable.

WhisperOfHope, are you moving far or just into a bigger apartment? We're in Augsburg.

Good idea Sarah, except I'm a little wary of popping in there. I'm so not the definition of a natural parent according to this forum.

I hate to recommend this to you morri and Sarah but my doctor wouldn't have it any other way..

Floradix mit Eisen.. the syrup version. I so would have rather taken the tablet form but my doctor wasn't nuts about that idea. He said iron's better absorbed with the syrup version. It's DISGUSTING! I'm dreading having to start that again but since I got pregnant 4 months after giving birth I think my iron levels will be lower this pregnancy. :/

yeh not really bigger but 2 bed and ground floor as i can't manage the steps here anymore currently being tested for arthitis to find out why im always in so much joint pain but got a note from my doc to say we need ground floor still has one small flight of steps but better then what we have now:haha:

I like sugarbeets syrup which according to the nutrional facts has lots of iron and magnesium but it surely didnt stop me going anaemic :haha:

It looks like your stuff is similar to Kraeuterblut which some prefer because they get sick from iron tablets, I don't have a problem with getting sick with tablets.

Magnesium inhibits iron absorption, so you're probably absorbing the magnesium and not the iron :(. I take magnesium 3 times a day and iron twice a day, so I end up having 5 pill pops a day! UGH

I'm not either Saphira((natural parenting)), and mostly the posts are just about baby wearing, co-sleeping and cloth nappies! It's way more light weight than I thought it was and I think most of the women on it are way less hard core than you'd think! :).

Hi all! Hope everyone's well!

Yesterday night at around 9:30 half of the apartment went electricity-less. :/ No idea what happened! We weren't able to get it back on and we're improvising with extension cables all through the apartment to keep the fridge and washing machine running, not to mention the light needed at night in those rooms. We called to get the problem fixed and still haven't heard back from the electrical company. Looks like we'll have to wait another day!
We've only been in this apartment 1 1/2yr. and have already had a list of problems - extreme clog in the toilet pipes also happening late at night (took forever to fix!! Had to use the toilet at the nearby gas station for a couple days..), water leakage in the basement, faulty heaters (make bubbling sounds no matter how often we drain them), the rollo pull has come completely out of the wall.. and now we have no electricity in half of the apartment. Oh man.. I think this is a sign we've got to move! We'd like to get more in the country, hopefully sometime next year. Maybe we'll have better luck somewhere else.

It's cooled down a lot, which is great!
Other than that, not a whole lot new. I have an appointment on the 10th, which I'm looking forward to! :)
What are you all up to?

What?! Magnesium inhibits iron absorption?! Why does that not concern my doctor? He's so big on taking magnesium tablets and I've taken them through both of my pregnancies since the late first trimester. I need to ask him about this! :/ I'd imagine iron is more important than taking magnesium after all.

Haha, I love how doctors fail to mention things... Yeah, don't take it with magnesium or calcium, they both like to inhibit other vitamins :/.

Wow, that sounds like a nightmare apartment!! You didn't have a friendly neighbour that wold let you use their toilet? :(

Noooo way! Like I said, we have spy below and the lady that just moved in next to us is so strange. She goes out of her way to not have to pass and say hi to us, always has a mean look on her face, and yeah.. the other neighbors are old and don't want much to do with anyone. So, yeah, we don't have any neighbor friends.

Only if you eat it at the same time. You should take magnesium against cramps- because if you have a lack of Magnesium you can get premature labour(uerus is a muscle too). My advice by the doctor was to take the iron tablet o.5 h with a glass of juice 0.5 h before breakfast. Magnesium inhibits it similarly to milk for example. Nevertheless you still need it(same as youll still have milk) it is just that it is not wise to take them both at the same time.

i was wondering why my docs are so adament i take magnesium now i know why thank you:flower:

Yep! Omg they work amazing against leg cramps!!! If I miss some of mine (I take the max dose of 6 a day!!! O_O) I get cramps in my legs all night long! While I'm taking them I get nothing! :O. Sorry that was a bit ranty :P. Also they help against constipation, another friendly pregnancy symptom :P

I finally got my iron results from last time. Apparently while on 1 tablet my iron dropped further :( Hopefully now that I'm on two a day it'll climb again(as of 3 weeks ago) .
If I forget to take my iron pill at 7 (I always wake up at 7am and then fall back asleep again...) I take it when I get up and then wait an hour before eating breakfast. Do I only need to wait 30mins? That would be nice...

Well my doc says half an hour is alright. Vitamin C as in orange juice strenghtens the intake too :).
Oh I only take 1 mga day after I had a horrible leg cramp that kept the muscle stiff for two days..

So for example, if I took magnesium in the morning and iron at night the iron absorption wouldn't be inhibited? Orange juice helps? When should pregnant women start taking iron tablets? With my first pregnancy I started taking them at the end, 30-32weeks+. I had no idea then how important it is and wasn't talked to about it until that late in, hmm. Now I'm wondering if it's better to start earlier.

Take a look in your mutter pass at your iron levels, should be on one of the fold out pages

Magnesium gave me the shits, big time, had to stop it!
Drinking black tea can also inhibit iron absorbtion - you've all reminded me I forgot mine this morning! I don't think you need to take it unless your levels are low... I was pretty hacked off with my doctor actually I had my bloods done and they didn't tell me I was anaemic, so I had 4 weeks where I needed the iron and wasn't getting it - didn't find out until my next appointment!
Floradix is a lot more palatable if you mix it in a small glass of orange juice I find :)
It's cool here today - forecast 16C. I'm fed up already, girls been back at kita for 3 weeks and today it's closed for a staff training day, so I'm stuck with them - we've had tears and tantrums from all of us already. Not great when I'm due in 3 days...

But I guess you're husband will be home to help on the weekend? :3
Have you started dilating yet? Did you say with your last two you went 12-13 days over?

Yeah he'll be home all weekend thankfully - just feel I've been thrown a curve ball having to deal with them today after a few weeks of restful mornings - I want my nap!
12 and 11 days late with the other two, which i'm going to have a battle about I think if this one is likewise inclined - my MW was saying that in 2010 the german guidelines were changed to induced at a week late, but that most hospitals have now revereted to two weeks, but mine hasn't yet - grrr...
