Well how are you anyway? I went to Ikea today to get a wardrobe. So tired!!!

Haha yeah, I'd advise tht. I made my dh do most of the work. But even walking around in ikea is enough to half kill me:)

ikea kills me not preg let alone preg been there once whilst preg and kept having to sit on the beds or anything i could find that looked like it was sitable:haha:

A glass one? We have it.

In the late second tri of my first pregnancy I experienced my first Braxton Hicks contractions journeying around in Ikea. :/ It was so uncomfortable!

I'm here... my mum and dad are here now, so I'm gonna be online a little less I reckon (unless we're all being really antisocial!)
I LOVE ikea, I really miss it, we had one 5 mins from our old house, so it was a great place to take the kids to smaland and have a free coffee! Now it's 20 min drive only, but we have no car!! So it's an hour by public transport.
Saw the MW yesterday for CTG, all fine with baby, I'll see her every other day now until the baby finally shows up!

Glad to hear all is well holywoodmum! Sorry for being annoying. I was really wondering if today's the day but I'll stop that.
We have the same situation with Ikea. About 20mins in the car but since we're car-less at the moment around an hr. with public transport. Bummer. :(

Yeah, and it's not like you want to carry a bunch of ikea stuff on the bus home :/.
We have a car and ours is only 5 minutes away... although our car is tiny, so we have to hire transport to take it home :dohh:.

Wardrobe is up! I've started packing it a little bit, but I'm trying to take it easy too... I'll probably just stop now. I think the LO wasn't being very happy with me.

Tiny car in Germany hmm.. I'm guessing you have a Smart, Sarah!
Good luck with packing! Have you made a list or are you using one from online? I found packing so overwhelming the first time around but now I know I won't need more than half of what I packed. :p

We were at the pharmacy today for a couple things but I have to go back tomorrow morning for the tights. I'm not even 100% sure what they are but my doctor prescribed them because I said I feel like my legs aren't getting good circulation always so from my understanding they're good for better blood flow. That happened to me at the end of my first pregnancy but it's starting up earlier with this one. Hope they help!

Our box of goodies from Baby-markt.de arrived today, yay! :happydance: We got a diaper genie type diaper trash for 1/2 the original price, a bottle sterilizer (finally!) and a couple age appropriate toys. Aurora's outgrown her "baby baby" toys.

That's about all really.. what's everyone else up to on this lovely gloomy day? :)

Haha, the other small car germans have, a CORSA! At least it has 4 doors AND it fits an isofix car seat in it! :D

I'm going by an online one. Once we go in for aour pre sign up I'll work it out better. Then I can ask about things they provide and don't :). I reckon my husband will go home a few times while I'm there, so I'm sure he can pick up anything I need more of!

Oh yep, those tights are good! My mum uses them on the plane to stop swelling. I was thinking of getting some too. Especially because I have one leg that has been injured in the past (and still is technically) and it swells way more than the other :'(.

Ohhh, exciting! we got mail too! Our car seat and isofix came :D and a diaper we ordered from China :D It's so cool how you can share toys with your new baby. So much less to buy this time round!!

Are you finding out the sex of this baby??

Corsas look nice! Omg, good thing it's a 4-door! 2-door cars with babies.. no way! It's hard enough to get the car seat in and out with a 4-door! Well, my husband has his seat so far back her cat seat's jammed in there but he thinks it's safer that way.
Which car seat did you get? Could you explain to me what isofix is? I never fully understood it. Our old car didn't have it because it was like 12 years old so I think it's somewhat new this isofix system. We just buckle her car seat in with the seat belt and go but from what I understand about it it's an extra clip in the back seats to secure it? Are isofix setups considered safer?

Do you have a midwife? I asked mine about what I'd need to pack.

You can get a prescription for the tights if you need. I believe it'll cost 5€ or so in that case otherwise they're quite pricey. They need to be fitted too so that's why I have to go back in tomorrow morning. Glad to hear they help! :)

Yes, we barely need anything for our second especially as she's also a girlie so clothes are also covered. We found out at 16 weeks. We were given a 97% certainty so I'm trusting my doctor's experience with it. On Monday we'll get it 99% confirmed hopefully. :) We didn't find out the first time around, which was also fun, but this time we wanted to just to try both ways. How far along were you when you found out?

lol must be something in the german water making girls:haha:

The weird thing is, the Germans I know with kids have mostly boys. Maybe it has more to do with expats in Germany having girls only? :p

thats true with me too most the babies ive seen out and about and bens neices baby are boys:haha:i was so convinced this one was a boy but dr is adament shes a girl wasonly 15 weeks at the time so not sure if should go by it

I'm a wanna be yellow bump... I didn't want to find out but the doctor told me by mistake - but you're all going to have wait to see if my bump turns pink or blue, cos we're not telling anyone else!
We ended up with a lovely afternoon here after a bit of rain in the morning - it's great having my parents here, they took the girls out all afternoon, so I had a long bath and then a lie down :)
Been having irregular contractions all day - MW said baby could come tonight, or it could be next week - I'm not doing well with the pain when there's no particular end in sight...

I am not an expat, but then my husband is :haha:

I think we also may get a new wardrobe, we have an ikea not too far away from us but it is still a schlep going there xD

Isofix is a bolt in the car that a car seat system thing clips to. So yeah, I GUESS it is safer because it is kind of clipped/bolted in. Then it's just a really super easy/fast latch thing to get the car seat in and out. So you can just lift the car seat out and stick it on the pram OR put it in a trolly or whatever. Then just clip it back in... it basically just involves sitting it on top and pushing down.

I do have a midwife, she seems a bit useless though :P

Our LO has been a girl about... 8 scans? so I'm pretty sure she's not changing :D. We wanted to know because we wanted a girl :P I didn't want to get gender disappointment at the birth! LOL!

I am not an expat, but then my husband is :haha:

My SIL is having their second boy :P

And I just got a pax wardrobe for the spare room! It's made it so much better :D somewhere to put the linen!!

That's right holywoodmum! I completely forgot you're waiting to announce that detail. I'm so set on everyone in here having girls so maybe you'll be mixing things up a bit soon or maybe it'll remain the girls' thread.
That's great you got some time to yourself to relax a bit but the pain doesn't sound very nice. :/ Hope your little one's on his or her way very, very soon!

You're German, morri? Sorry, I'm mixed up tonight it seems. :p

So the base the car seat clicks into is connected by the strap (isofix) in the back seat? You don't need to play around with the seat belt to buckle it in at all?
Too bad your midwife isn't very helpful. :( Does she speak English? Do you speak some German?
If your girl's been confirmed at 8 scans I think you can be 99.99% sure a girl will be coming out.
