oh Pax, We have tjis older one(which is real wood though and not the pressed wood of Ikea) :haha: but it is split at some places, and the hanging space is so small actually that I always have to squeeze my oh's shirts in there. which in turns means he always has to iron them before he wears them. eh it is just a weird set up the wardrobe.. anyway. The best car seat btw according to adac(car club germany) and the test foundation (stiftung warentest) is this one https://www.adac.de/infotestrat/tests/kindersicherung/kindersitz-test/detail.aspx?KisiID=194&nc=True
it is availbale with and without isofix and has been tested as the best .
Saphira , I am german- and my oh is south african :)

Don't worry this is just the top tested one. Other have also tested well. test.de have a bigger choice of tested seats but those buggers havent got the latest one free to view.(you have to pay something like 5 euro just to read the results . (after a year or so they make it free)

That's annoying! We went with a Maxi Cosi because they seem so popular here so I figured other parents must know what they're doing, haha! I checked out reviews for them, mostly positive, then went with the Citi, although the Pebble looks nice as well. I only ever see Maxi Cosis and some Römers when parents have their babies in car seats in shops. Never heard of the Cybex brand before. Is that what you went with?

On the test.de the pebble is the best baby seat (I think it's about 7th on the list, but the ones above aren't for little babies). But the pearl is the no. 1 seat on the list. So we went for the set of pearl and pebble with the isofix to join :).

Yeah, no fiddling with the belt buckle or anything, just basically put it in, push down and go :D. I really like it, it's another purchase though, so It adds up in cost.

Yeah, the midwife is weird, we got her because she does speak english. So I didn't get to really choose between anyone or go with someone I clicked with. I do speak a bit of German but not enough to talk about important baby things.

Patrick, born 7.10am this morning. 11lb 4oz. Got my waterbirth :)

Also, you need to bear in mind that they are ALL safe!!! They are all tested through the teeth, they have to be! Only thing I wouldn't buy is a second hand one. Even if it looks fine, it could have been cracked slightly in an accident and you'd never know.

That isofix system sounds neat! If we end up getting a newer car maybe we'll have that luxury but I don't think the Citi has the isofix option anyway. :p We definitely bought new. :) My daughter's a few centimeters away from reaching the top of it now so I think we may only be able to squeeze a month, maybe two tops more out of it. B&B made me aware of rear facing seats for older babies/toddlers so I'm going for a Maxi Cosi Mobi shipped from Sweden 250ish Euros later. They're all around 200 here though, the well known brands are. Germany doesn't seem very big on extended rear facing as only a couple are even sold.

Our old corsa has one! It looks so funny though, the brand new flash isofix... in a old car...:dohh:
Well doesnt that work out perfect? Aurora moves out of the baby one and into a new one, and the baby can have the old one :)

Sure does! :) It's unbelievable how quickly she grew. Just 8 1/2 months ago she looked too small for her car seat! She got lost in there and the midwife recommended we put a pillow or so under her so she can properly fit in it. Now she's nearly outgrown it.

Awwww :'(

Just thought I'd post a bump pic :)

Speaking of carseats, we forget to take ours yesterday to Geburtshaus, had to borrow one for Patrick to come home in! We have maxicosi cabriofix with isofix. Love it, but no car here, so won't get much use!

Haha! I bet I'll forget something like that...
How are you two doing??

Good. He's permanently on the boob, but slept a 5hr stretch last night, so not feeling too rough yet!
