Oh I saw someone else from the Uk living near Kassel! I should try and get her here....

I'm so slow! I just noticed you are the same person... can I claim baby brain?!?!

COngratulations dgirl :) Congratulations on your new arrival!
I am also a Brit in Germany, we've been here 7 weeks now - living near Dusseldorf.

I still have baby brain, I put the vitamin D tablets in the office cupboard :/

Where abouts from the UK are you from holywoodmum?

Near to Belfast in Northern Ireland. DH is English... I'm 5 days done on my A1 integration course - they won't let me take the test to do A2 yet as I'm self funding at the minute...

Yeah, they wouldn't let me go A2 because there wasn't space. I think they just do that to make people pay for the whole thing....

I did the first 5 weeks, but then went to NZ and then SA so I had to stop. Haven't been back :(

How are you ladies this week? I'm good but my husband is away :( Next week is my scan!!!

Crappy! My OH is being a complete knob!

Ugh, I might be returning to the UK if he doesn't grow a pair >.<

He gets stressy with little things - like I was watching something on TV last night and there was literally 5 minutes left and he got all stressy because he had prepared dinner and I didn't go out straight away. He gets all arsey for silly little things like that.

Plus he hasn't been very helpful with the baby. He's only got up once in the night since she's been here and doesn't even ask if I need help, he just lays there and continues to sleep.

MEN!

Is his work particularly difficult atm? When did you guys move to Germany? I know my husband starts being a bit of a ....... when he's stressed out. Sometimes I just tell him so! That I know he's stressed but he can't take it out on me. I guess also your LO is so young, he's probably stressing about it.
Which as a man possibly he has more of the luxury of not getting up, us women just tend to see that as firstly our job :/ Are you BF or bottle?

He's at school so it's not as if he goes out every day and does a hard days work. He's only there for 5 hours a day, not exactly hard labour! I moved here about 2 years ago.

I'm bottle feeding so it's not as if he can't get up and help. Even just putting the bottle in hot water would be more helpful to me than him laying there snoring his head off. Granted though, he did look after the baby last night so I could get a full nights sleep. I just hope now that he doesn't think that just because he's done it once that he is now exempt forever more.

Yeah, I do think studying can be quite draining. But IMO, he should get up at least once in the night! Although I don't know how your relationship dynamics work! I know my brother get's up from 5am, so he gets a nights sleep until then and my SIL gets to have a few solid hours (I think she gets up at 9). He also is writing his PHD atm, so when the baby is distracted/asleep he can work :)

MY DH COMES HOME TOMORROW, I'M SO EXCITED :D:D!

Have you had your scan yet Sarah?
Dgirl, sorry your hubby is being a bit of a knob... you might need to just sit down and come up with a plan for nights if you feel you are being hard done by (which it sounds like you are...) eg - who needs most sleep, who can stay up later etc - my DH used to do 8-midnight and I got 4 hours kip in then, then I did anything later in the night, so he got a stint of sleep before work...

Not too bad, just moved in properly last week, no internet at home so I've not been online much, connected my laptop via my phone this evening, but it's so slooooow

Ugh, I hope you get internet soon, I think I'd die here without it! So all moved into your place now?
