How do you pronounce

Ours are pretty straightforward as well:

Tiffany = Tif-fa-nee

I'm pretty sure I don't have to phonetically spell out Claire's name, it's pretty self-explanatory. :)

I have to agree with the post about b.astardising the english language just to make a name look different from anyone else. It makes me cringe. Some names look fine with it, but others.....I just think if you like a name, use it. Don't kill it by adding loads of extra vowels. Or names spelt phonetically. Not a fan.

Oh and Niamh is a traditional Irish name, not something I made up

Maley is pronounced May-Lee - she gets called Marley sometimes and Miley.....

But we did make up her name so we cant complain really....

well our names are self explanatory, laura, nicole and callum. although nicole does get nic-hole, ni-col and nicola!! does my head in!!

Traditional Irish names are great, never spelled phonetically are they? e.g My ex's sister was called Ailbhe, pronounced 'Alva'.

Seren's always pronounced differently do different people.

Alot of people say Seren, like Sarah but with an N at the end.
But I pronounce it SAIR-en.

Hard E then "lease" (as in rent/buy/LEASE). :)

People think it is Eleeze etc.

Love that name, so pretty xxx

mines is simple its just plain lori
But alot of people pronounce aidens as ai-dan when it should be ai-den xx

Lylah is Lie-la

SOOO many people call her Layla, so annoying lol! One woman at the HV weigh in place said I missed the 'A' out at the start when I signed her in...
WTF lol

People call me Jay-LEE with a lot of exaggeration on the Lee when me and my whole family say it like Hayley but with a J instead of a H

People called Halen "Aylen" which annoys me. His name begins with a H not an A grrr

When people ask my daughters middle names and I say "Blaise" they think it's "Blaze" as it's pronounced the same. One of my best friends is called Blaise, it's actually a Saints name (a man) but it really suits her and suits my daughter too :)

Does that make Caitlyn an example of the 'stray y' then? I preferred the spelling Caitlyn to Caitlin... this wasn't me trying to be different. It was a matter of preference. x
