a girl at my school spelled Claire with a k. wtf.
I have to agree with the post about b.astardising the english language just to make a name look different from anyone else. It makes me cringe. Some names look fine with it, but others.....I just think if you like a name, use it. Don't kill it by adding loads of extra vowels. Or names spelt phonetically. Not a fan.
Oh and Niamh is a traditional Irish name, not something I made up![]()

i have the opposite problem i have a really straight forward english name but i dont live in an english speaking country and they cant pronounce it!
my name is terrie pretty straight forward
ffions name is pronounced Fee-on and her middle name is Lowri pronounced Low-ree (not l-hour-ee)
Rhys' name is actually John-Rhys pronounced John Reece
Seren's always pronounced differently do different people.
Alot of people say Seren, like Sarah but with an N at the end.
But I pronounce it SAIR-en.
