How to inform child benefit of new child?

We get child benefit for Ds1, ds2 was born 10 days ago, can I ring up the child benefit number or do I have to fill in a form? He's only getting registered tomorrow so no certificate yet. I didn't get a bounty pack.

Our council do a 'tell us once' thing,they stamp the form to say the details are correct,rather than sending the form and birth cert off.Not sure if yours do?
If not you send off the new form and birth cert.x

I cant remember where i got my form but had to send my eldest's birth certificate again aswell with tax credits i just phoned and told them, no forms, nothing.

The registry office most likely will have some spare,if they do the stamp xx

Thanks everyone, I rang them up and they said they don't do it over the phone so they're sending me a form out. But I will ask at the registration office tomorrow too
